Religion Heritage And Values
As Sanders described his upbringing as an American Jew in a 2016 speech: his father generally attended synagogue only on Yom Kippur he attended public schools while his mother “chafed” at his yeshiva Sunday schooling at a Hebrew school and their religious observances were mostly limited to Passoverseders with their neighbors. Larry Sanders said of their parents, “They were very pleased to be Jews, but didn’t have a strong belief in God.” Bernie had a bar mitzvah at the historic Kingsway Jewish Center in Midwood, Brooklyn, where he grew up.
In 1963, in cooperation with the Labor Zionist youth movement Hashomer Hatzair, Sanders and his first wife volunteered at Sha’ar HaAmakim, a kibbutz in northern Israel. His motivation for the trip was as much socialistic as it was Zionistic.
As mayor of Burlington, Sanders allowed a Chabadpublic menorah to be placed at city hall, an action the ACLU contested. He publicly inaugurated the Hanukkahmenorah and performed the Jewish religious ritual of blessing Hanukkah candles. His early and strong support played a significant role in the now widespread public menorah celebrations around the globe. When asked about his Jewish heritage, Sanders has said that he is “proud to be Jewish.”
In 2016, he disclosed that he had “very strong religious and spiritual feelings”, adding, “My spirituality is that we are all in this together and that when children go hungry, when veterans sleep out on the street, it impacts me.”
The Story Behind The Making Of Donald Trump Coins
Coins that are collectible have been a element of our society for many years now. Some of the most renowned collection of coins in the world belong to famous individuals like the writer Mark Twain, the explorer Ernest Shackleton, and even the British monarch King George V.
Some people have decided to make their own collectible coins to commemorate specific moments in their lives, or to raise awareness for their business or a cause. Donald Trump is one such individual who has minted his own unique collectible coin to mark his inauguration as the 45th president of the United States.
The ceremony was attended by a number of famous dignitaries from across the globe including the Prime Secretary Theresa May of the United Kingdom and the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, and Prime Secretary Justin Trudeau of Canada among other dignitaries.
United States Postal Service
In March 2019, Sanders was a co-sponsor of a bi-partisan resolution led by Gary Peters and Jerry Moran that opposed privatization of the United States Postal Service , citing the USPS as an establishment that was self-sustained and noting concerns that a potential privatization could cause higher prices and reduced services for customers of USPS- with a particular occurrence in rural communities.

Bernie Sanders On Being The Democratic Front
Bernie Sanders had an impressive win last night in the Nevada caucuses. He also won in the New Hampshire primary and leads the Democratic field in national polls. It’s a stunning turn of events for a man who calls himself a “democratic socialist,” and is the first to admit he’s been preaching the same populist, progressive message for decades.
As the mayor of Burlington, Vermont, then a U.S. congressman, now an independent senator who caucuses with the Democrats, Sanders has been arguing that the very rich should pay higher taxes so that everyone can have health care, education, and a decent paying job. Sanders is 78 years old, and is filling arenas with huge crowds of young, enthusiastic supporters. He’s used to being the underdog, but now, grudgingly, has to admit: in the Democratic race for president, he’s the front-runner.
Anderson Cooper: After your entire career, to now be the front-runner of the Democratic Party–
Bernie Sanders: Yes, that is a bit shocking. I will agree. I will agree with you there.
Anderson Cooper: The Democratic Party has moved to you, if anything?
Bernie Sanders: In many ways, they have. And– and the ideas that seemed radical four years ago are now kind of mainstream.
Bernie Sanders: Yep, that’s what I said.
Bernie Sanders at a rally: You know what? They should be getting nervous!
Anderson Cooper: You’re also making, though, a lot of Democratic voters nervous.
Bernie Sanders: Mhmm.
The Trumps Expand Mortgage Exec Takes A Loss
⢠It looks like Don Trump Jr. and his wife Vanessa are spreading out a bit. A week after the couple paid $1.125 million for an 1,800-square-foot apartment on the 12th floor of The Sovereign on East 58th Street, theyve now paid another $1.595 million for the apartment next door. ⢠Douglas Lebda, the founder of LendingTree, has gone into contract to sell his penthouse at the Legacy on East 84th Street. After more than nine months on the market, Lebda is taking a loss on the sale of the 5,175-square-foot apartment. Purchased for $8.6 million in 2007, the mortgage exec is reportedly selling it for close to its listing price of $7.5 million.

Endorsement Of Hillary Clinton
After the final primary election, Clinton became the presumptive Democratic nominee. On July 12, Sanders formally endorsed Clinton. He said he would continue to work with the Democratic National Convention organizers to implement progressive positions. Sanders refused to formally concede before the convention. He spoke at the 2016 Democratic National Convention on July 25, during which he gave Clinton his full support. Some of his supporters attempted to protest Clinton’s nomination and booed when Sanders called for party unity. He responded, “Our job is to do two things: to defeat Donald Trump and to elect Hillary Clinton … It is easy to boo, but it is harder to look your kids in the face if we are living under a Trump presidency.”

Against Trump Vermont Independent Bests Other Democrats Among Key Demographic Groups
Sanders outperforms Biden against Trump among voters ages 18-29, those who are not interested in politics and self-described independents.
Biden is the strongest candidate among college-educated whites, older people and suburban white women.
Sanders posted his closest margin against Biden in Democratic primary polling since April, 23% to 29%.
Some Democrats are nervous that giving Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, a self-described socialist, the partys presidential nomination would make it harder to achieve their ultimate goal of making President Donald Trump a one-term president.
Jim Messina, who managed former President Barack Obamas 2012 re-election bid, said in a recent Politico interview that Trump would love to run against Sanders, noting that Republicans have already signaled they plan to hammer the socialism angle in the fall campaign.
But a new Morning Consult poll tracking the strength of the top Democratic contenders against Trump in hypothetical matchups found Sanders performs better than his rivals, including front-runner Joe Biden, with groups viewed as key to beating the unpopular incumbent.
Sanders outperforms the former vice president against Trump among voters ages 18-29, those who are not at all interested in politics and self-described independents just as he does in primary election polling against Biden.

Bernie Sanders Endorses Joe Biden For President
- Sanders says: Weve got to make Trump a one-term president
- Biden all but confirmed as Democratic challenger to Trump
Sanders support of the former vice-president comes at a critical moment in the 2020 campaign, as Biden attempts to unify the party after a fiercely contested primary. By throwing his weight behind Biden, Sanders, is sending a clear signal to his legions of loyal followers that they should align behind the partys nominee to defeat Donald Trump.
Today, I am asking all Americans, Im asking every Democrat, Im asking every independent, Im asking a lot of Republicans, to come together in this campaign to support your candidacy, which I endorse, the senator from Vermont said, appearing via live stream on a split screen next to Biden, who was hosting the broadcast.
We need you in the White House, Sanders said. Weve got to make Trump a one-term president. I will do all that I can to make that happen.
Sanders dropped out of the Democratic primary race last week after falling far behind Biden in the delegate count. In an effort to continue influencing the Democratic platform, he will remain on the ballot in states with remaining primaries to gain delegates.
I appreciate your friendship, and I promise you I will not let you down, Biden told Sanders.
Sanders Bows Biden Ready To Take On Trump In November
AMERICA By AFP| April 9th 2020
US Senator Bernie Sanders at a meeting for the Democratic primaries, in Keene, New Hampshire.
After a campaign shaken by twists and turns, Bernie Sanders abandoned the race for the White House on Wednesday, promising to work with Joe Biden, now the assured winner of the Democratic primary, who called for the rally to beat Donald Trump.
In announcing to his supporters that he was throwing in the towel, the independent senator greeted Joe Biden as a very respectable man and said that he would work with this more moderate candidate in order to advance his program firmly anchored on the left.
Noting the real tensions between the two camps, the former American vice-president, 77, reached out to supporters of 78-year-old Bernie Sanders.
I know I have to win your votes. And I know it may take time. But I want you to know that I see you, that I hear you, that I understand the sense of urgency that drives you, said wrote the man who will face Donald Trump on November 3.
In the evening, he further praised the passionate voice for progress of Bernie Sanders, who inspired and motivated millions of supporters, especially young voters.
At the end of a campaign which had seen an unprecedented number of candidates, displaying record diversity, Joe Biden promised to choose a woman as co-listener.

The Sole Candidate Who Can Beat Trump
Biden won the presidency in the first place by making the argument that he was the sole candidate among the Democrats who could beat Trump.
It’s an argument he’s ready to try to make again as Trump flirts with another run, even if there are now many new headwinds including his own abysmal public approval rating, soaring inflation, and angst from inside the party that Democrats failed to deliver on an ever-growing list of demands from the economy to climate change to safeguarding democracy.
It’s also the case that Sanders’ 2024 aspirations remain in their own holding pattern until Biden makes his own formal declaration of his intentions.
After spending stretches of the 2020 presidential campaign in his basement, Biden sought to portray himself as a youthful, active commander-in-chief.
But that hasn’t always worked out. Conservatives gleefullyhighlight his every misspoken word or verbal stumble as evidence of mental decline. Biden tumbled from his bicycle during a June ride in Delaware. And after a lengthy swing through the Middle East, Biden returned to Washington with an unexpected parting gift: COVID-19.
Biden would be 86 years old when, in 2029, he’d complete a second term. It’s a fact the White House doesn’t want to talk about.
“That is not a question that we should be even asking,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded in June when asked on CNN about Biden’s health and stamina.
Mayoralty Of Bernie Sanders
|Mayoralty of Bernie SandersApril 6, 1981 April 4, 1989|
Bernie Sanders served as the 37th Mayor of Burlington, Vermont, from April 6, 1981, to April 4, 1989. Sanders’ administration was the first socialist one in New England since the mayoralty of Jasper McLevy. He was regarded as a successful mayor that instituted multiple economic policies in Burlington, and was selected as one of the twenty best mayors in the United States by U.S. News & World Report in 1987. He was active in foreign affairs, primarily in Latin America in which he criticized the policy of the United States and visited Cuba, Nicaragua, and the Soviet Union, and was criticized for it by his opponents.
During his early tenure, Sanders feuded with the city council and other municipal leaders before forming a coalition of supporters in Burlington’s government over the course of his tenure through local elections. During the 1982 elections, enough pro-Sanders candidates won seats in the city council to allow for vetoes made by Sanders to not be overridden by the city council. After the 1984 elections, Terry Bouricius, a progressive, became president of the city council. The pro-Sanders members of the city council lost a seat after the 1986 elections, but later regained a seat after the 1987 elections.

Bernie Sanders Voters Helped Trump Win And Here’s Proof
Bernie Sanders supporters switched their allegiance to Donald Trump in large enough numbers last November to sway the election for the real estate billionaire, according to an analysis of voter data released Tuesday by the blog Political Wire. Since Trump’s shock victory over Hillary Clinton, much discussion has focused on the degree to which passionate Sanders supporters’ refusal to embrace Clinton led to the Republican winding up in the White House.
According to the analysis of the 2016 Cooperative Congressional Election Survey, fewer than 80 percent of those who voted for Sanders, an independent, in the Democratic primary did the same for Clinton when she faced off against Trump a few months later. What’s more, 12 percent of those who backed Sanders actually cast a vote for Trump.
Some asked for more detail on how Sanders primary voters behaved in general. This graphic shows this, including small % who abstained 2/n
The impact of those votes was significant. In each of the three states that ultimately swung the election for TrumpMichigan, Wisconsin and PennsylvaniaTrump’s margin of victory over Clinton was smaller than the number of Sanders voters who gave him their vote.

Older Politicians Serve Everywhere In The Government
There are exceptional octogenarians like Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg or the late Justice John Paul Stevens who could well have served productively into his nineties, but they are exceptions. A more typical problem of high-impact public service on the aging mind and body is 81 year-old Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross who has been ineffective at his job and seems to spend much of his time currying favor with President Donald Trump. We obviously do not all age at the same pace, but it is more likely that our faculties will grow less acute as we age than it is for them to sharpen.
