Is This Really The Suppression Of Political Speech
A lot of these systems are flagged automatically or occur when customer complaints come in, so thats a hard case to make. Theres no evidence that the carriers or their partners are flagging and blocking these messages for reasons other than preventing spam.
The telecom companies are also far more reserved when it comes to staking out a political position, with the carriers previously having praised Trump for his large corporate tax cut in 2017.
When it comes to combatting spam, the motivation is primarily driven by the need to eliminate something most people find annoying.

No Evidence Letter Is Authentic
There is no evidence that the letter depicted on social me is real. The contents of the post’s letter also contradict Biden’s assessment of it being “very generous.”
Additionally, the seal at the top of the letter does not match the seals used on other letters from Trump that have been made public, like this one. The letter posted to Instagram is also dated “20th January 2021,” instead of the typical date formatting with the month first, followed by the day.
Lastly, the letter’s assertion that Trump won the election is false. Election officials, both Republicans and Democrats, have confirmed that there was no widespread voter fraud and lawsuits alleging fraud have been largely unsuccessful.
The Claim: Trump’s Letter To Biden Says ‘you Know I Won’
After sidestepping nearly every significant tradition in the transfer of power, now former President Donald Trump did uphold one routine of an outgoing president leaving his predecessor a note.
President Joe Biden alongside Vice President Kamala Harris was inaugurated on Jan. 20.
However, despite no evidence of widespread fraud and dozens of failures in court, some of Trump’s supporters and allies are continuing to push baseless conspiracy theories about a stolen election.
Following the revelation that Trump had left Biden a note, people took to social media to speculate about whatit said.
One Instagram post, from a Florida-based lifestyle account, shared an image of a note that reads “Joe, you know I won,” with the supposed signature of Trump on White House stationery. USA TODAY was unable to reach the poster for comment.
The same letter was also shared here on this blog post and has 1,278,988 views as of Jan. 22.
The image also was widely shared across social media.
What does Trump’s note to Biden say?
The tradition of an outgoing president leaving letters for his successor is relatively new, but the practice has been upheld since Ronald Reagan wrote to George H.W. in 1989. Trump received a letter from Obama in 2017, which said in part, “Regardless of the push and pull of daily politics, its up to us to leave those instruments of our democracy at least as strong as we found them.

Six Days A Week For A Year She Wrote To President Trump Heres What It Taught Her
The first time Alanna Kane wrote to a US president, she was 10 years old. It was Ronald Reagan.
She was too young to really understand the dynamics of government. And she didnt get a response.
Kane is in her 40s now. And when Donald Trump assumed office, she wrote again to the President. This time six days a week. For an entire year.
If youre counting and she was thats 313 letters, all of them put on paper in tidy handwriting.
The Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, woman is a registered independent and didnt vote for Trump. She says she began writing because she doesnt see eye to eye with the President on many issues and wanted him to understand the viewpoints of people like herself. She tried to keep her tone friendly.
I wrote it kind of like a pen pal, Kane, 47, told CNN. The kind of friend that will always give you honest advice.
She sent her first letter the day Trump was inaugurated:
So heres the deal. Im going to write you letters LOTS of letters. A letter every day for your first year as President. Please dont worry Im not here to cause a problem. I just want to get to know you a little better, and for you to get to know me. Maybe we can find something in each other to relate to
Transcript: Kim Jong Un’s Letters To President Trump
Bob Woodward obtained the 27 “love letters” President Donald Trump exchanged with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, 25 of which have not been reported publicly. The letters, filled with flowery language, provide a fascinating window into their relationship. Kim flatters Trump by repeatedly calling him “Your Excellency,” and writes in one letter that meeting again would be “reminiscent of a scene from a fantasy film.” In another, Kim writes that the “deep and special friendship between us will work as a magical force.” CNN has obtained the transcripts of two of the letters.
Woodward, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, was shown the letters but was not permitted to make copies or take photos. He dictated the letters into his tape recorder, and these are transcripts as he read them:

A Letter To President Trump
Dear President Trump,
I have heard various people saying that the FBI is going to investigate and expose the theft of the 2020 election, and the Department of Justice is going to prosecute the people behind it. Sir, I doubt theres enough honest, patriotic FBI agents left in the agency, that care about America or the integrity of the election system, to do the right thing. If the FBIs past behavior is any indication, the FBI will lie about it and cover it up to protect the people who rigged the election.
Sir, even if there were enough honest and just FBI agents, willing to do their job honestly, whatever acts of criminality they uncover will be concealed from the public by the leaders of the FBI, denied by the lying Marxist media, and buried by the Department of Injustice. Because of that, I fear that nothing short of another bloody civil war will end the tyranny of socialist Democrats.
In addition, since taking office, Christopher Wray and Bill Barr have been stonewalling. I need not remind you Sir, that under Wrays leadership, the FBI sat on Hunter Bidens laptop and withheld critical information that voters deserved to know before the election. That means Wray and his agents refused to act in the best interest of the people or the country. That speaks volumes about the FBIs lack of dedication to truth and justice.

While Mr Biden has refused to reveal the contents of the letter, Mr Trump was asked in a new podcast interview released on Monday what he said to the incoming president.
“Well I don’t want to say, you know that’s perhaps up to him and I guess he said he wouldn’t do it without my approval,” Mr Trump began.
But basically I wished him luck and, you know, it was a couple of pages long and it was from the heart because I want to see him do well.”
The account is consistent with Mr Biden’s own public comments on the letter, which the president has confirmed was waiting for him on the Resolute Desk.
“The president wrote a very generous letter,” Mr Biden said previously. “Because it was private, I won’t talk about it until I talk to him. But it was generous.”
The letter will ultimately enter the public record in the National Archives and Records Administration as part of The Presidential Records Act. But The White House has refused to provide a readout when questioned by reporters, with press secretary Jen Psaki saying the president had no specific plans to seek approval from his predecessor to release the full note.

Kids Are Writing Letters To Donald Trump To Ask Him To Be Kind
How do you explain to your child that Americas next president is someone who has mocked a person with a disability, made lewd and sexist comments about women, proposed to ban an entire religion from the country, insultedpeople of color and incited violence?
That was the question on Molly Spence Sahebjamis mind after Donald Trump was elected to the White House and the reason she launched the private group, Dear President Trump: Letters From Kids About Kindness in the wake of the election.
I talked to many of my friends with kids, and we all shared the same question: What do we tell our kids about why the mean man won? Sahebjami, a mother and Hillary Clinton supporter from Seattle, Washington, told The Huffington Post.
Sahebjamis plan was simple: She would invite parents to join her Facebook group and have their kids write positive, non-partisan letters to the president-elect, explaining the importance of being kind to others. It was an experiment she took up with her 5-year-old son to help make sense of the election.
Within days, thousands of people joined the private group, posting photos of their childrens letters and sharing them on social media with the hashtag #KidsLettersToTrump. By Tuesday, more than 12,000 people had requested to join Sahebjamis group.
The handwritten notes range from cards covered in block letters and misspelled words, to drawings of rainbows and kids of all colors, to thoughtful essays penned neatly on lined paper.

Donald Trump Really Wants You To Text His Name To 88022 But Will He Ever Text Back
At Donald Trump rallies and news conferences, the invocation is very often printed in the cameras lines of sight to ensure maximum exposure:
Text Trump to 88022
If you assumed this is a fundraising ploy, youd be wrong. The Republican presidential front-runner is self-funding his campaign, remember?
Instead of money, Trump ostensibly wants a channel to communicate directly with voters. His website advertises exclusive updates for those who subscribe to the texting service.
One problem: Trump doesnt seem to use the service very often.
Two weeks ago, on the day of the Wisconsin primary, I signed up and prepared for The Donald to Make My iPhone Great Again with the exclusive updates I had been promised. Heres how it went.
And then nothing for 14 days.
Last week, Fix colleague Philip Bump had the good idea to subscribe using a New York ZIP code to see whether the Trump campaign might be targeting residents of the Empire State ahead of the primary. He got nothing for five days.
Finally, on primary day Tuesday, the first exclusive updates arrived.
Later, after I asked the campaign about its use or underuse of the text line, both Bump and I received this message.
What. A. Waste.
Maybe, in another message, Trump could ask subscribers to name the No. 1 issue in the campaign: Text A for immigration, B for terrorism, C for trade, D for gun rights.
Heres what Buell recommends:

How To Write To The President
The President of the United States may seem out of reach to everyday constituents who do not hold any government office. Fortunately, the U.S. democracy is such that essentially anyone can reach the White House. The official website of the president, whitehouse.gov, makes information for contacting the nations highest office readily available. Web visitors can find phone numbers, with telecommunications options available for the deaf or mute, online. Furthermore, there is a form built into the site for easy email correspondence.
Though calling and emailing are fast and convenient communication methods, there may be a circumstance that calls for a letter. While the website provides basic information about how to write the president, there are a few other things a potential correspondent may want to consider:
The White House recommends that correspondents compose their letter on 8.5 by 11-inch paper, which is the standard size for most ruled and printer paper. There are no guidelines about weight, color or fiber communicators are free to choose whatever paper they feel is appropriate. That being said, the letter is going to pass through many hands once it arrives at the White House, so durability is an important consideration.

Chagrin Falls Mother And 3 Sons Have Written Close To 1400 Letters To President Trump
The letters are part of their American Stories Project to share good stories about everyday people
Chagrin Falls, Ohio -Samantha Schaedler is so close to her goal.
1,460 Letters…one hundred left, can you believe it? she said, holding up a post-marked envelope.
After President Donald Trump was elected in 2016, she promised to her three sons that their family would write a letter a day and send it to the White House.
She calls it the American Stories Project.
As you start to look at these stories, what it really starts to show you is the history of the United States from the perspective of all of us. It doesnt matter your background…these are stories from everybody, and theyre about regular Americans that make America great,” she said.
The eighth grade history teacher carries several huge three ring binders around with her, a collection of every letter shes written.
Some of the stories are personal.
This is my grandma Carnes. This is her recipe for the best cookies ever. She was born in Ireland arrived here in the United States with nothing but a desire for a better life…and I included her recipe in my letter,” she said.
And others are from people all over the world.
She says a lot of Ohio students like writing about LeBron James, President Barack Obama, and Michelle Obama.
Since she started the project on January 20, 2017, she hasnt missed a day writing a letter.
But some are authentic, like this one signed by President Trump.
