Department Of Health And Human Services: Alex Azar
President Trump nominated former pharmaceutical executive Alex Azar to lead the Department of Health and Human Services on Nov. 13, 2017.
Azar had served as general counsel of HHS and later as the department’s deputy secretary during President George W. Bush’s administration.
Following his time at the department, he rose to become president of Eli Lilly USA, a global pharmaceutical company. If confirmed, Azar would replace Tom Price, who resigned in September.
Veteran Affairs: Robert Wilkie
Robert L. Wilkie was confirmed as Veteran Affairs secretary on July 23, 2018. Wilkie, a former assistant secretary of defense under President George W. Bush, received bipartisan support in the Senate.

House Jan 6 Panel Subpoenas Trump Advisors Associates
The House special committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol has subpoenaed four of former President Trumps advisors and associates who were in contact with him before and during the attack.
The panel subpoenaed former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, former White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Dan Scavino, former Defense Department official Kashyap Patel and former Trump advisor Stephen K. Bannon.
Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson wrote to the four men that the panel is investigating the facts, circumstances, and causes of the attack and asked them to produce documents and appear at depositions in mid-October.
The subpoenas are a significant escalation for the committee, which is now launching the interview phase of the investigation after sorting through thousands of pages of documents the committee requested from federal agencies and social media companies. The goal is to provide a complete accounting of the events related to Jan. 6, when Trump loyalists quickly overwhelmed police and interrupted the certification of Joe Bidens election victory and to prevent anything like it from ever happening again.
The committee also cites Meadows work to overturn Trumps defeat in the weeks prior to the insurrection and his pressure on state officials to push the former presidents false claims of widespread voter fraud.

Trump released initial details of his economic policies when his campaign officially began in June 2015, and more details during the first Republican debates which began in August 2015. Although critical of certain aspects of Trump’s early economic plans, especially increasing tariffs as opposed to free trade policies,Larry Kudlow and Steve Moore would eventually agree to join the Trump campaign as advisors. Although most presidential candidates had announced a team of formal economic advisors by October 2015, at the time Trump still primarily relied upon his business background to inform his economic plan . In addition to his own business expertise, Trump had a network of contacts that sometimes served as informal economic advisors during his campaign, including Carl Icahn. Even as late as July 2016, however, Kudlow and Moore were still not official advisors, despite having already helped craft some of Trump’s policy-positions related to taxation for instance.

A trio of executives with personal ties to President Donald Trump wielded even more influence over Veterans Affairs policies while he was in office than previously thought, running afoul of federal transparency and lobbying laws, according to a new report released by the House Oversight Committee on Monday.
The result of the Democrat-controlled panels months-long investigation found that the arrangement violated the law and sought to exert improper influence over government officials to further their own personal interests.
That included communications with Trumps daughter, Ivanka, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, using personal email accounts to evade public disclosures of the discussions into department reforms and decisions about upgrading VAs electronic medical records system.
The three men at the center of the controversy Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter, primary care specialist Dr. Bruce Moskowitz, and attorney Marc Sherman were all members of Trumps Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida in 2017 when Trump tapped them to be unofficial advisors to his administration on VA issues.

At the time, White House officials insisted that the arrangement was simply an opportunity for the president and key advisors to gather ideas from outside business experts.
But a ProPublica investigation into the group in 2018 found the trio had significant access to and influence over VA officials, without any official public oversight role.

There were three distinct phases to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign that could be seen through his top-level staffing decisions: the Lewandowski campaign, the Manafort campaign, and the Bannon campaign. The initial staffing involved only a handful of key advisors, including longtime Trump advisor Roger Stone. Trump hired Corey Lewandowski, whose motto was “Let Trump be Trump,” as campaign manager in February 2015. Lewandowski came from Americans for Prosperity, a 501 organization associated with David and Charles Koch, as did a number of early staffers. These early hirescombined with his choices for communicationssuggested that Trump intended to build a smaller staff that did not come from the traditional consultant class in the Republican Party. Trump added his foreign policy team in March 2016, continuing the trend of hiring staffers with little traditional experience in political consulting.
