When drafting a letter to the president, please keep these formatting guidelines in mind.
- Letters to the president should be submitted on standard 8.5″ x 11″ paper.
- Typing is preferred. If, for some reason, you opt to send a handwritten letter, be sure to use ink and ensure that it is neat and legible.
- The greeting should specify either “Dear President ,” or “Dear President,”
- As a letter to the president is a formal document, so it’s best to use a standard business letter format.
- Write a draft of your letter, then proofread carefully to ensure that it conveys your intended meaning and is free from errors.
The Claim: Trump’s Letter To Biden Says ‘you Know I Won’
After sidestepping nearly every significant tradition in the transfer of power, now former President Donald Trump did uphold one routine of an outgoing president leaving his predecessor a note.
President Joe Biden alongside Vice President Kamala Harris was inaugurated on Jan. 20.
However, despite no evidence of widespread fraud and dozens of failures in court, some of Trump’s supporters and allies are continuing to push baseless conspiracy theories about a stolen election.
Following the revelation that Trump had left Biden a note, people took to social media to speculate about whatit said.
One Instagram post, from a Florida-based lifestyle account, shared an image of a note that reads “Joe, you know I won,” with the supposed signature of Trump on White House stationery. USA TODAY was unable to reach the poster for comment.
The same letter was also shared here on this blog post and has 1,278,988 views as of Jan. 22.
The image also was widely shared across social media.

What does Trump’s note to Biden say?
The tradition of an outgoing president leaving letters for his successor is relatively new, but the practice has been upheld since Ronald Reagan wrote to George H.W. in 1989. Trump received a letter from Obama in 2017, which said in part, “Regardless of the push and pull of daily politics, its up to us to leave those instruments of our democracy at least as strong as we found them.

The Journal’s op-ed piece makes the case for Judge Kevin Brobson, a GOP nominee running for Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court. He currently sits on an appeals bench, a step below the state’s high court.
The opinion piece states that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court needs “an injection of judicial restraint” after it carved out an exception due to COVID-19 to accept ballots for the 2020 election that arrived three days late.
The board goes on to state that these votes were segregated from the final tally and that they did not matter because the president won the state by more than 80,000 votes. However, the piece argues, if the race had been closer, the state’s presidential election could have been determined by the U.S. Supreme Court.
The former president in his letter argued that the election was “rigged,” a common refrain from Trump, who has also repeatedly alleged that the 2020 election was tainted by widespread voter fraud.
The former president went on to provide a bulleted list of points alleging foul play in the election.

Dear President Trump,
I have heard various people saying that the FBI is going to investigate and expose the theft of the 2020 election, and the Department of Justice is going to prosecute the people behind it. Sir, I doubt theres enough honest, patriotic FBI agents left in the agency, that care about America or the integrity of the election system, to do the right thing. If the FBIs past behavior is any indication, the FBI will lie about it and cover it up to protect the people who rigged the election.
Sir, even if there were enough honest and just FBI agents, willing to do their job honestly, whatever acts of criminality they uncover will be concealed from the public by the leaders of the FBI, denied by the lying Marxist media, and buried by the Department of Injustice. Because of that, I fear that nothing short of another bloody civil war will end the tyranny of socialist Democrats.
In addition, since taking office, Christopher Wray and Bill Barr have been stonewalling. I need not remind you Sir, that under Wrays leadership, the FBI sat on Hunter Bidens laptop and withheld critical information that voters deserved to know before the election. That means Wray and his agents refused to act in the best interest of the people or the country. That speaks volumes about the FBIs lack of dedication to truth and justice.

The Wall Street Journal has been criticized after it published a letter by Donald Trump in which the former president continued to push his false claim that the 2020 presidential election was rigged.
The former presidents letter, written in response to a WSJ editorial about voting law in Pennsylvania, claims, wrongly, that the election was rigged, which you, unfortunately, still havent figured out.
The 600-word letter contains a bullet-point list of disproved claims many of which have been debunked by WSJ reporters which Trump claims show there was voter fraud. There was no widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election, as several independent and partisan reviews have confirmed.
Several WSJ reporters were unhappy with the publication of the letter, CNN reported, which comes after what had been a successful few weeks for the WSJ, which is owned by Rupert Murdochs News Corp. The newspapers investigation revealed, through internal documents, how high-profile users were not subject to the same standards as regular users, and that Facebook was aware that Instagram, which it owns, is toxic for teenage girls.
The decision to publish Trumps spurious letter threatens to undermine that journalism, despite a newspapers editorial board typically being separate from the newsroom.
