When Is The Trump Rally

Far From The Madding Crowd

Trump rally draws thousands to Sarasota

Donald Trump held a rally in Iowa on Saturday, but Seth Meyers found the crowd lacking enthusiasm for the former presidents routine.

And you can tell Trump was waiting for a crowd reaction, too. I mean, look at him its like watching an open-mic night at the senior center, Meyers said on Monday night.

He treated supporters to an hour and 43 minutes of bitching about the election he lost and how he didnt lose it, and how he didnt concede because it was stolen from him, and all that stupid nonsense that runs on a loop in his brain. JIMMY KIMMEL

Wow, and I was worried about bringing audiences back. I never thought Id say this, but maybe you should go into lockdown. You know, remote shows might be better for you. You could borrow my attic. SETH MEYERS

Also, I love the cutaways to sullen Trump fans just standing there in silence like tourists watching one of those gold statue guys in Times Square: So is he going to, like, do something? SETH MEYERS

But if the Iowa rally wasnt his crowd, Jimmy Kimmel joked about the protesters on Jan. 6 who were. Kimmel reported that Jonathan Karls new Trump tell-all, Betrayal, details Trumps bragging about the size of the crowd that stormed the capitol.

While Donald Trump has held several rallies since the January 6 Capitol insurrection, his rally in Iowa Saturday was the most alarming by far.

Former President Trump To Headline Georgia Rally Saturday

Former President Trump to hold event in Georgia

The political rally in Perry, Georgia will mark the first event Trump has held in the state since January.

ATLANTA – Former President Donald Trump will hold what he has billed as a “Save America Rally” Saturday in Perry, Georgia.

The event will be his first in the state since January when he campaigned for Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue ahead of their runoffs. Both lost their races to their Democratic challengers.

“Trump is going to say, you know, ‘You should miss me because I didn’t have inflation. We were energy independent.’ He’s going to do down the line–he fights crime and so, I think you’ll see a contrast that, ‘Hey, I did it better and Biden’s not doing anything, and Democrats in Georgia are just following Biden,” explained Phil Kent, a Republican panelist on The Georgia Gang.

Ahead of Trump’s visit, Georgia Democrats held a news conference condemning his continued claims of election fraud in 2020.

“We must continue to reject Trump and the Republican divisiveness, the lies, and toxic rhetoric,” said state Rep. Miriam Paris, D-Macon.

A slew of Republican candidates will join the former president for the event including U.S. Senate hopeful Herschel Walker, Secretary of State candidate Jody Hice and Burt Jones, who is running for Lt. Governor in 2022.

Kent said President Trump’s endorsement carries weight in Georgia.

The rally begins Saturday at 7 p.m.

Former President Donald Trump Speaking At Georgia Save America Rally On Saturday

PERRY, Ga. – Former President Donald Trump plans to speak this Saturday at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry.

As he sits under a shaded canopy, Florida resident Duane Schwingel patiently waits for former President Donald Trump to arrive in Perry, Georgia for yet another Save America Rally.

Its time when the local people get to realize the bigger issues that are out there and why its important that we have a strong leader at the home, said Schwingel.

The ticketed event, scheduled for Saturday, will be held at the Georgia National Fairgrounds. One rally organizer says the doors will open at 2 p.m. Between 5 and 6 p.m., several speakers including Herschel Walker and Senator Burt Jones will deliver remarks. Former President Trump has endorsed Walker for the U.S. Senate and endorsed Jones for lieutenant governor. At 7 p.m., Trump will give a speech before the crowd.

Our Roslyn Giles spoke with Chairman of the Muscogee County GOP, Alton Russell, today and he tells News Leader 9 what to expect.

I expect it to be high energy, very positive kind of a deal, said Russell. I think its important he come to Georgia. I think hes, um, going to be here to endorse, I think with Jodi Hice for Secretary of State, Herschel Walker for Senate, Lieutenant Governor candidate Bert Jones. I think thats the main reason hes going to be here. I think thats what he is going to focus on.

Trump To Hold Iowa Rally As Poll Shows Strong Approval Ratings

The unexpected joy at a Trump rally in Iowa
  • Former president stays quiet on possible 2024 White House run

Donald Trump was set to return to Iowa on Saturday for a campaign-style rally, on the heels of a poll showing strong support in the state which traditionally kicks off presidential elections.

Trump has not announced a second run for the White House.

Instead, he has maintained control of his party by repeating lies about electoral fraud in his defeat by Joe Biden attempting to block a congressional investigation of the deadly Capitol attack by supporters seeking overturn that defeat fundraising strongly and bragging about how he would defeat potential rivals including the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, if he chooses to seek the nomination again.

He also continues to attack his own party establishment. This week, Trump condemned the Republican leader in the Senate for ending opposition to helping Democrats raise the US debt limit, a position which threatened economic catastrophe.

In a statement, Trump called the move a terrible deal pushed by folding Mitch McConnell. McConnell seemed sure to come under fire from the stage at the Iowa state fairgrounds in Des Moines on Saturday night.

Ahead of the rally, the Des Moines Register released a poll which showed that 53% of Iowans view Trump favourably.

While Republicans mostly align themselves with Trump, Democrats and independent observers continue to warn about the likely consequences of another Trump run or presidency.

Will There Be Traffic Delays Or Road Closures Due To The Trump Iowa Rally

While Trumps rally at the fairgrounds will likely draw thousands of supporters for much of the day, Des Moines police arent expecting any road closures as a result, Sgt. Paul Parizek told the Des Moines Register.

Des Moines International Airport spokesperson Kayla Kovarna said the event shouldn’t cause any problems for people flying in or out of the airport. She said airport officials do not expect any impacts at the airport due to the visit.

Baseless Claims About The 2020 Outcome

Trump’s trip to Iowa brings up another thing that’s unprecedented: the false claims he’s pushing about the 2020 election being stolen. There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud, but Iowans are asking about it at town halls.

At one last month for Grassley in rural western Iowa, a man in the back of the crowded room told the senator that he doesn’t trust the outcome of the election.

“I feel in my heart that there was a lot of cheating going on,” the man said.

Grassley didn’t directly correct the claim. Instead, he defended Iowa’s elections and criticized congressional Democrats’ plan for a federal voting overhaul.

Bardwell says misinformation has taken hold in the GOP.

“You can’t put the genie back in the bottle, in terms of once this accusation is unleashed,” he said. “And once it’s believed by a large percentage of the Republican base, there’s kind of no going back at that point. Mainly because kind of the psychological dynamics of misinformation are such that at that point, people will just find and then rationalize the position that they already have.”

Trump’s lies about 2020 haven’t dissuaded Iowa Republicans from wanting to appear with him.

That includes Iowans who are up for reelection next year. Both Grassley and Gov. Kim Reynolds are slated to speak ahead of him at Saturday night’s rally.

What Do Democrats Think Of Trump’s Visit To Des Moines

Democrats have derided Trump’s visit, arguing that Iowa’s top Republican leaders should not be appearing alongside him.

“For now, we’re just focusing on reminding Iowans why Donald Trump is not just bad for Iowa, but he’s toxic for our democracy,” Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Ross Wilburn said during a news conference. “And it’s been well established that he did nothing to stop his supporters from violently attacking our Capitol, even while his own vice president was inside.”

Iowa National Democrats Criticize State Republicans For Supporting Trump After Jan 6 Riot

Iowa Democratic Party Chair Ross Wilburn criticized Iowa Republicans for supporting Trump after his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in January.

“Iowa Republicans have tied themselves to a man who attacked the foundations of our democracy throughout his time in office,” Wilburn said in a statement. “Just nine months ago, he incited a violent mob to attack his own Vice President and threaten the lives of lawmakers who were simply fulfilling their constitutional duty to certify our election.”

A slew of Iowa’s top Republican leaders warmed up the crowd ahead of Trump, including Reynolds, Grassley and U.S. Reps. Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks.

Reynolds led the crowd in a chant of “U.S.A.” and criticized Biden on his immigration policies, mentioning that she visited the U.S.-Mexico border this week.

“I was just there this week,” she said. “You know whos never been there? Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They dont care. They dont care whats happening at the border.”

Vice President Kamala Harris visited the U.S.-Mexico border in June.

Reynolds also mentioned Biden’s COVID-19 response, eliciting boos from the crowd.

“They dont respect you,” she said of Democrats. “They dont respect your faith, your values. They dont think youre capable of making your own decisions and they dont think you should. And this is what America looks like under democratic leadership but Im here to tell you were fighting back.”
