Donald Trumps Tweets Have Now Disappeared From Twitter

Trump sending ‘message’ that Kim can ‘understand’: Tillerson

The suspension means that Trumps tens of thousands of prior tweets are out of public view on Twitter. Retweets of the presidents messages are gone from the forwarding users timelines, and quote tweets are replaced with the message This Tweet is unavailable.

The ability to navigate other users likes, retweets, and quotes of the presidents tweets is gone, as is the ability to see, in one place, all replies to anything he has tweeted.

Trump Campaign Texts Are Being Flagged As Spam: What You Need To Know

Heres a breakdown on why the Trump campaign is reportedly fighting with the wireless carriers and how text messages are playing a bigger role in elections.

Text messages from the Trump campaign are being flagged and blocked. The campaign argues this is a suppression of political speech.

President Donald Trumps reelection campaign is reportedly clashing with wireless carriers Verizon, AT& T and T-Mobile over whether its text messages should be blocked as spam.

Over the July Fourth weekend, the Trump campaigns mass text message push was blocked by anti-spam monitors that work with the wireless carriers, according to Politico. A Business Insider story added more detail about Jared Kushner, a White House senior advisor and the son-in-law of the president, and a phone call he had with the three national US wireless carriers.

The move raises questions about how effective these mass text messages a key tool for many politicians will be for the Trump campaign. It also shines a light on the world of peer-to-peer text messaging, which was originally designed for individuals sending a handful of messages, but has since been co-opted by political campaigns, companies and other entities often for legitimate reasons.

But Didnt The Trump Campaign Say It Was In Compliance With The Tcpa And Fcc Guidelines

Yes, and thats accurate. But thats largely because the legal guidelines around these kinds of P2P text messages arent clear.

The TCPA and FCC have rules about abuse on autodialer systems that can automatically send messages or make phone calls. But there isnt any guidance on these systems because theyre run by humans.

The CTIAs statement about requiring opt-out language and prior consent are part of recommended guidelines to the industry for players like the carriers and senders like political campaigns. But the trade group has no ability to enforce these guidelines, which are more like mutually agreed upon practices than firm laws.

An upcoming may offer some guidance on the legal definition of phone spam.

Texts Come Hours Apart With No Clear Explanation For How The Money Will Be Spent

Former President Donald Trump is out of office, and has not announced any plans to run in the future, but that hasnt stopped his political action committee from bombarding his fans with daily requests for money and other support.

Months of text messages reviewed by The Independent reveal that supporters of the former president received at least one text message per day throughout the month of May, with some texts coming mere hours apart ahead of fundraising deadlines.

The donation links route money to the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, a joint fundraising committee that splits funds between the Republican National Committee , Mr Trumps 2020 campaign for president, as well as the Save America PAC, an organisation founded by Mr Trump to fund his future political efforts.

The frequency of the calls for donations rivals that of most active political campaigns, and suggests that Mr Trump is keen on maintaining a massive war chest throughout his post-presidency that means his endorsement carries huge financial weight in any local race.

Some texts sent to supporters via the automated service are designed to appear as if they were personally written by the former president, while others are signed by Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr, and former first lady Melania Trump.

The Independent has reached out to the office of Mr Trump for comment.

White House Officials Know How To Get A Message To Trump: Through His Tv

Donald Trump told reporters in the fall, I dont get to watch much television. Primarily because of documents. Im reading documents. A lot.

This was amusing, not only because theres no evidence to suggest the president reads documents by all accounts, Trump even skips the presidential daily brief but also because he seems obsessed with television. Its how he often finds new people to hire, and its how the president shapes his policy agenda, such as it is.

But TV is also an important form of communication for White House aides. The Wall Street Journal reported this week on presidential son-in-law Jared Kushners evolving role, and the report included a fascinating tidbit about his relationship with John Bolton, the new White House national security adviser, who was a Fox News personality until very recently.

Over the past year, Mr. Kushner would call Mr. Bolton for advice, including on the operations of the United Nations, where Mr. Bolton served as ambassador during the George W. Bush administration.Knowing that Mr. Bolton was a frequent commentator on cable television, White House aides would ask Mr. Kushner to call and brief him on important initiatives so that he would have a firm grasp of the administrations position before appearing in forums that the president watches, people familiar with the matter said.

How Trumps Connection To Conspiracy Theory Community Fueled Capitol Riot

Chain-mail-style text message disinformation isn’t new, but it can prove to be dangerous, in part because of how the messages are delivered. The messages are usually forwarded by friends, so they carry the emotional weight of personal pleas for help, instead of simple Facebook rumors that can easily be ignored.

“I think that when we see panics like this, chain mail and people trying to circumvent different systems, it all speaks to the kinds of anxiety we have not being able to communicate and how important our communication system is,” said Joan Donovan, research director of the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.

“When it’s in crisis, some people are going to take advantage of that, and other people are going to spread rumors in order to warn people, just in case,” she said.

Social media platforms that had allowed the QAnon conspiracy theory to flourish are moving to ban accounts that spread its evidence-free claims. But bans can push communities to other digital avenues, including text messaging, where there is less visibility for researchers and law enforcement.

Private, chain-mail-style disinformation played a key role in Myanmar’s genocide in 2017, U.N. investigators found, as copied-and-pasted rumors about Rohingya Muslims saturated Facebook’s Messenger service.

Donald Trump Gives Out Lindsey Grahams Cellphone Number

Grahams reaction: When it comes to the Donald, nothing surprises me anymore.

By NICK GASS and ADAM B. LERNER

    07/21/2015 01:01 PM EDT

If Lindsey Graham has to change cellphone numbers, he has Donald Trump to thank.

On Tuesday, Trump ramped up his attacks on the South Carolina senator who made headlines Monday for the Donald a jackass and even gave out Grahams private phone number.

Trump began his rambling diatribe by calling Graham a lightweight and an idiot.

He doesnt seem like a very bright guy. He actually probably seems to me not as bright as Rick Perry. I think Rick Perry probably is smarter than Lindsey Graham, Trump added, riffing on prior insults he had lobbed at the former Texas governor.

Then Trump transitioned to an embarrassing anecdote, which the billionaire real estate developer said was from a few years ago, in which Graham called Trump begging him for a good reference with Trumps pals on the Fox News morning program Fox & Friends.

Trump said that he promised Graham he would put out a good word, and the South Carolina Republican then gave him his phone number to follow up.

Trump then read out what he said was Grahams phone number, telling his supporters to try it.

I wonder what caused that, Graham told a POLITICO reporter who dialed the number, about the influx of calls.

The biggest beneficiaries of Trumps antics, Graham added, are President Barack Obama and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
