PERRY, Ga. – Former President Donald Trump plans to speak this Saturday at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry.

As he sits under a shaded canopy, Florida resident Duane Schwingel patiently waits for former President Donald Trump to arrive in Perry, Georgia for yet another Save America Rally.

Its time when the local people get to realize the bigger issues that are out there and why its important that we have a strong leader at the home, said Schwingel.

The ticketed event, scheduled for Saturday, will be held at the Georgia National Fairgrounds. One rally organizer says the doors will open at 2 p.m. Between 5 and 6 p.m., several speakers including Herschel Walker and Senator Burt Jones will deliver remarks. Former President Trump has endorsed Walker for the U.S. Senate and endorsed Jones for lieutenant governor. At 7 p.m., Trump will give a speech before the crowd.

Our Roslyn Giles spoke with Chairman of the Muscogee County GOP, Alton Russell, today and he tells News Leader 9 what to expect.

I expect it to be high energy, very positive kind of a deal, said Russell. I think its important he come to Georgia. I think hes, um, going to be here to endorse, I think with Jodi Hice for Secretary of State, Herschel Walker for Senate, Lieutenant Governor candidate Bert Jones. I think thats the main reason hes going to be here. I think thats what he is going to focus on.

So much for one nation, indivisible.

A right-wing rally featuring former President Donald Trump and headlined by former Trump adviser Steve Bannon used an American flag from Trumps infamous January 6 rally for the pledge of allegiance.

That January 6 rally wasnt exactly peaceful. Trump whipped his crowd into a frenzy at the White House, and shortly afterwards a contingent of that crowd attacked the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to block Congress from certifying President Bidens election victory. Hundreds of police were injured.

Bonetas remark drew cheers from the pro-Trump crowd, who were then led in the pledge by Mark Lloyd, Trumps 2016 Virginia campaign director who later served in the Trump administration as a religious freedom advisor to USAID.

The moment can be seen here:

The rally was held to boost turnout for Republican gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin and the rest of the Virginia GOP ticket ahead of this Novembers statewide elections.

Trump phoned in to the rally, praising Youngkin before repeating his lies that the 2020 election was stolen from him.

Glenn Youngkin is a great gentleman. We won in 2016. We won in 2020the most corrupt election in the history of our country, probably one of the most corrupt anywhere. But were gonna win it again, Trump said.

Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Youngkins Democratic opponent, slammed him for the rally.

Former President Donald Trump is heading back to Iowa today for a rally amid positive polling numbers that show he has more appeal to voters there than President Joe Biden.

Recent polling out of Iowa showed that Trump had a 53 percent approval rating, the highest approval rating the former president has ever received in Iowa. While Trump’s approval rating is going up, Biden’s struggling with Iowa voters with his approval rating falling lower than Trump’s worst showing in the Des Moines Register and Mediacom poll.

Nearly a year after his last speech in the state, given at the Des Moines International Airport, Trump is returning to Iowa to hold a rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. He’s expected to take the stage at 7 p.m. CT, which is 8 p.m. ET, and Newsmax has coverage lasting until 10:30 p.m. ET.

Viewers can tune in for Trump’s remarks on television on the Newsmax channel, as well as on the Newsmax TV website.

Trump is the headliner of the rally but he won’t be the only official speaking at Saturday’s event. Along with the former president, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig, Representatives Marianette Miller-Meeks and Ashely Hinson, and Senator Chuck Grassley are expected to speak. Baseless Claims About The 2020 Outcome

Trump’s trip to Iowa brings up another thing that’s unprecedented: the false claims he’s pushing about the 2020 election being stolen. There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud, but Iowans are asking about it at town halls.

At one last month for Grassley in rural western Iowa, a man in the back of the crowded room told the senator that he doesn’t trust the outcome of the election.

“I feel in my heart that there was a lot of cheating going on,” the man said.

Grassley didn’t directly correct the claim. Instead, he defended Iowa’s elections and criticized congressional Democrats’ plan for a federal voting overhaul.

Bardwell says misinformation has taken hold in the GOP.

“You can’t put the genie back in the bottle, in terms of once this accusation is unleashed,” he said. “And once it’s believed by a large percentage of the Republican base, there’s kind of no going back at that point. Mainly because kind of the psychological dynamics of misinformation are such that at that point, people will just find and then rationalize the position that they already have.”

Trump’s lies about 2020 haven’t dissuaded Iowa Republicans from wanting to appear with him.

That includes Iowans who are up for reelection next year. Both Grassley and Gov. Kim Reynolds are slated to speak ahead of him at Saturday night’s rally.

Ohio Rally Recalls Campaign Events

Trump stepped onto the stage as a loudspeaker blared Lee Greenwoods God Bless the USA a favorite on his playlist during last years campaign for the White House and tossed red Make America Great Again hats into the crowd.

In his 91-minute remarks, Trump lashed out at Democratic foes Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi, ridiculed the “fake news” media and leveled unfounded accusations about his loss to Joe Biden in November’s presidential election. Trump said he was “ashamed” of the U.S. Supreme Court for failing to back his claims of election fraud.

Though he made no announcement about his own plans, Trump hinted he might make another run for the White House in 2024. Claiming that he has already won the presidency twice, he said, “Its possible well have to win it a third time.”

Though Trump lost the presidency to Biden, he carried Ohio by 8 percentage points. Political scientist Justin Buchler said he saw no particular relevance to the fact that Trump chose Ohio historically a swing state in presidential elections as the site of his first rally since leaving the White House.

What was more important, Buchler said, was that he appeared in Lorain County, which he won by 3 percentage points last November and where he was surrounded by people who are loyal to him.

Theres probably about 8-10kish people here between whats in front of the stage and wrapped around the press riser.

Still an hour before Trump.

Fowlers estimate was shared about three hours after Packers estimate.

However, Fowler later amended his estimate and said that 8,000 to 10,000 might actually be high. He wrote: The Trump Perry rally did not quite fill up the event space cordoned off for it, so 8-10,000 may be a high side estimate. However, he added, the crowd was very enthusiastic.

What Do Democrats Think Of Trump’s Visit To Des Moines

Trump rally in Wilkes

Democrats have derided Trump’s visit, arguing that Iowa’s top Republican leaders should not be appearing alongside him.

“For now, we’re just focusing on reminding Iowans why Donald Trump is not just bad for Iowa, but he’s toxic for our democracy,” Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Ross Wilburn said during a news conference. “And it’s been well established that he did nothing to stop his supporters from violently attacking our Capitol, even while his own vice president was inside.”

Trump Supporters Arrive Early Praise Former President

Supporters began arriving at the Lorain County Fairgrounds early Saturday afternoon, donning American flags and selling T-shirts that said, “Trump won.” A cover band blared through the grounds as people lined up at food trucks and sipped water to stave off the heat.

Leslie Dodd drove to Wellington from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, with her son to attend. She said she hoped to hear good news from Trump and believes the GOP should follow his lead as candidates gear up for the 2022 and 2024 elections.

“As far as I’m concerned, he’s still my president,” Dodd said.

Edward X. Young, 61, of Brick Township, New Jersey, a horror movie actor, director and makeup artist, drove from his home Friday night and arrived at the Lorain County site 11 hours later.

This is my 51st Trump rally, Young said. The last one he said he attended was the rally in Washington on Jan. 6, when people broke into the U.S. Capitol. Young said he did not go into the Capitol.

Im very excited about this one. This is the return, said Young, who likened the atmosphere to a rock ‘n’ roll concert.

Sandra Price, 57, of Walled Lake, Michigan, hoped Trump would say he has not given up on the 2020 election.

I want to reelect the president, said Price, who was attending her 19th Trump rally.

Price said shes upset with GOP members who are not true to conservative principles. Democrats stab me in the chest,” she said. “Republicans stab me in the back.”
