Trump And Greene Make It Clear That No One Disloyal Is Safe

PBS News Weekend full episode, October 8, 2022

Saying a Republican has a DEATH WISH because he did his job and voted for legislation puts a target on the back of that Republican. Saying Democrats have already started the killings provides a justification for violence against anyone who happens to be a Democrat. Openly spouting a racist nickname against a woman of Asian heritage tells people, during a time of rising anti-Asian hate crimes, that its OK to be hateful.

And this all happened over the course of TWO DAYS!

‘death Wish’ Why Trump’s Attack On Mcconnell This Weekend Should Scare Us All

In the Republican Party of Donald Trump and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, only those faithful to Trumps cult-like MAGA movement are safe.

Democrats are called the enemy, labeled killers. And even Republicans who dont embrace MAGA dogma any lost election was stolen, Trump is always right . have a death wish.

Trump, the current front-runner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination should he decide to run, took to Truth Social on Friday night and attacked Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell because he voted for legislation sponsored by Democrats: He has a DEATH WISH.

Supporters Think Trump Was ‘set Up’

The crowd was on his side when it came to the FBI’s search.

This region supported Mr Trump in the 2020 election, even though Pennsylvania overall slipped from his grasp and chose Mr Biden.

Two supporters had already procured “Defund the FBI” T-shirts to wear to the rally.

Gail McCloskey, from the city of Altoona, nearly a three-hour drive away, told the BBC she thought the FBI visit was “a set up”.

Meanwhile, Kelly Borgogelli, 60, who had driven four hours from Buffalo, New York, to see Mr Trump, said: “They’re just going after him for pure hate.”

Asked if she believed any of the multiple accusations made against Mr Trump over the years – that he incited a violent mob to storm the US Capitol last year, that he improperly pressured Ukraine’s president to investigate his political enemies, or that he falsified claims of election fraud in 2020 – Mrs Borgogelli replied she did not.

“They’ve never given us any proof,” she said.

Her companion, Maureen Ewart, 62, said if the justice department actually charged Mr Trump, the country would be “divided”.

“It will be crowded out there, the streets will be full,” Ms Ewart said, emphasising that she did not condone violence – but feared any criminal charges against the former president could spark civil unrest.

At one point, Mr Trump himself claimed that the latest investigation into his possession of government documents was “going to produce a backlash” the likes of which the country had not seen before.

Trump Returns To Stage With Speech At North Carolina Gop Convention Teases 2024 Run

A Guide to Donald Trumps Weekend Circus

Former President Donald Trump returned to the stage in North Carolina on Saturday night, delivering his first post-presidency appearance outside of Florida.

GREENVILLE, N.C. — Former President Donald Trump returned to the stage on Saturday night, delivering a speech at the North Carolina Republican Party State Convention, and claiming America is backsliding under President Joe Biden.

“It’s great to be back in Greenville with so many proud, North Carolina patriots who love our country, support our military, respect our police, honor our flag and always put America first, we don’t put America second,” Trump said as he opened his speech. “As we gather tonight, our country is being destroyed before our very own eyes.”

The 90-minute speech sounded much like one from Trump’s 2020 campaign, touting the accomplishments of the administration, including development of the COVID-19 vaccine, Wall Street’s rise, building the border wall and curtailing immigration and his tough stance on Iran and China.

Trump’s speech in Greenville, North Carolina, was his first political appearance outside his new home state of Florida since he left office in January. In late February, he delivered the keynote address at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando where he teased a 2024 comeback bid while promoting the false claim that the November election was “rigged” against him.

When Did Donald Trump’s Florida Home Get Searched

Trump said the FBI conducted a search on his Mar-a-Lago home on August 8, 2022.

“My beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said in a statement, adding: “They even broke into my safe.”

A person familiar with the situation told CNN that investigators appeared to be focused on one area of the estate, particularly his office and personal quarters.

Trump’s son, Eric, said in a Fox News interview that “the purpose of the raid, from what they said, was because the National Archives wanted to, you know, corroborate whether or not Donald Trump had any documents in his possession.”

Trump’s attorney, Christina Bobb, told CNN the FBI had seized documents during their search.

Bobb told the outlet: “President Trump and his legal team have been cooperative with FBI and DOJ officials every step of the way.”

She continued: “The FBI did conduct an unannounced raid and seized paper.”

Republicans Keep Their Mouths Shut In Face Of Trump’s Hatefulness

Any serious response from so-called reasonable Republican elected leaders? Nope.GOP Sen. Rick Scott, asked several times about Trump’s words, told CNN he doesn’t “condone violence” and added the useless, mealy mouthed comment: “I hope no one is racist.”

How courageous. Republican leaders wont say a thing, even to defend themselves, even when its clear Trump and his MAGA minions have loyalty only to themselves.

For the sizable swath of voters and politicians who remain loyal to Trump despite his falling approval numbers, this is not the behavior of a political party. This is the behavior of a cult: fealty to one individual zero tolerance for any who stray from the core beliefs threats of violence toward any who step out of line characterizing those who disagree as existential threats.

MAGA followers think you are not a Democrat you are a member of a party now actively killing Republicans. You are not a mainstream conservative you are a person with a death wish.

Donald Trump Ends His Weekend By Insulting Nasa

Former President Donald Trump spent Sunday evening griping on his Twitter knockoff app Truth Social about a variety of topics that appear to be eating away at his psyche following a weekend full of potentially devastatingpersonal legal developments.

The first post appeared at 6:15 p.m., wherein Trump maintained his innocence in the multitude of criminal probes that are underway into his post-presidency behavior:

Here we go again! The Radical Left Dems fraudulently created the now fully debunked Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, they got caught and failed, but tried to get me with ‘obstructing’ their Fake investigation of their fraudulent, made up story. So, they make up a vicious & fake story, I fight it, and they claim I obstructed the investigation. It didnt work, but now they are doing the same thing with the RAID on Mar-a-Lago assault. I did nothing wrong, they did. It is prosecutorial misconduct!

The second arrived at 6:37 p.m., and Trump used it to peddle conspiracy theories while again denying any wrongdoing:

The third, which came at 7:43 p.m., contained boastful praise and scorn toward the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, which on Monday will test launch its new lunar rocket, weather permitting. That program began under Trump, who incorrectly claimed that American space exploration was “dead” until he took office:

Both Parties Eye Pennsylvania

The state is vital to Democrats’ hopes as well. They want to pick up a US Senate seat by propelling Lt Gov John Fetterman to victory.

The governor’s race has taken on extra significance with Mr Mastriano’s landslide win in the Republican primary. He attended the 6 January 2021 attack on the US Congress and played a key role in efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Pennsylvania.

Should he win the governorship, he would have significant power over the state’s election implementation.

To oppose him, Democrats have put forth the state’s attorney general, Josh Shapiro, and President Biden held several high-profile events in the state in recent days to help whip up the Democratic base.

In fact, he also visited Wilkes-Barre, on 30 August to give a major speech about guns and public safety and two days ago he gave a primetime address in Philadelphia.

He argued that Trump’s ideology – which he called “Maga Republicans” after his predecessor’s famous campaign slogan – threatened American democracy.

“Not every Republican, not even a majority of Republicans, are Maga Republicans,” Mr Biden said.

“But there’s no question the Republican Party today is dominated, driven and intimidated by Donald Trump and the Maga Republicans, and that is a threat to this country.”

On Saturday, Mr Trump called Mr Biden’s address the most “vicious hateful and divisive speech ever delivered by an American president”.

Watch Trumps Arizona Rally With Kari Lake

Former President Donald Trump is holding a rally this evening in Prescott Valley, Arizona, just one day after the House Jan. 6 Committee hosted its eighth public hearing in prime time.

Trump predicted in a Friday afternoon Truth Social post that the rally would draw a big crowd.

Coverage of the event is expected to start at 7 p.m. ET, according to C-SPAN, though doors to the Findlay Toyota Center opened at 11 a.m. local time to begin allowing crowds in.

Guest speakers are scheduled to begin delivering remarks at 4 p.m. local time, after which Trumps Save America PAC said the former president will take the stage at 7 p.m.

The rally will be a continuation of President Trumps unprecedented effort to advance the MAGA agenda by energizing voters and highlighting America First candidates and causes, the PAC said.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake is one of the guest speakers expected to deliver comments in the hours before Trumps speech. Trump endorsed Lake last September, saying at the time that she will do a far better job than RINO Governor Doug Ducey. Ducey and former Vice President Mike Pence were both campaigning on behalf of Lakes Republican rival, Karrin Taylor Robson, earlier Friday.

The rally will stream live on YouTube. Some networks began covering the rally before it officially started, showing the crowds awaiting the arrival of Trump and other scheduled speakers.

Let’s Stop Dancing Around It And Call The Maga Movement What It Is

They will come for any who question them. Because theyre not a political movement..

Theyre a dangerous and swiftly worsening cult.

And they need to be denounced by everyone, including Republicans who still value basic human decency. Then they need to be rejected by voters, en masse and with thunderous force.

A Quick Guide To The Liv Golf Series

Donald Trump in Weekend at Walter Reed

A new series. The launch of new Saudi-financed LIV Golf series has resurfaced longstanding questions about athletes moral obligations and their desire to compete and earn money. Heres what to know:

What is LIV Golf? The series is an upstart professional golf circuit bankrolled by Saudi Arabias sovereign wealth fund. Its organizers hope to position it as a player-power-focused alternative to the PGA Tour, which has been the highest level of pro golf for nearly a century.

Why is the new series controversial? The event has created sparks within golf for upending the traditions and strictures of how the game is played. It has also become a lightning rod for human rights campaigners who accuse Saudi Arabia of using sports to launder its reputation.

Who is playing it?Many of the biggest names in golf, such as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, have stayed away from LIV Golf. But several big names and former major champions, including Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Sergio García, joined. Henrik Stenson of Sweden, who was supposed to lead Europes team at the 2023 Ryder Cup, was removed as captain after announcing his move to the series.

What is attracting the players? The LIV Golf events are the richest tournaments in golf history. The first tournaments total purse was $25 million, and the winners share was $4 million. The last-place finisher at each event was guaranteed $120,000. That is on top of the appearance fees and nine-figure signing-on payouts some players have accepted.

Mcconnell Announces Support For Electoral Count Act Reform

When asked about Trumps comments on Friday, Trump spokesperson Taylor Budowich said it was “absurd” to suggest the former president’s post could be construed as dangerous.

Mitch McConnell is killing the Republican Party through weakness and cowardice. He obviously has a political death wish for himself and Republican Party, but President Trump and the America First champions in Congress will save the Republican Party and our nation, Budowich said in an email to NBC News.

Trump has frequently lambasted McConnell, with the attacks intensifying after the Senate Republican leader rebuked Trump following the Capitol riot. More recent attacks have included derogatory comments about McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, who served as transportation secretary during the Trump administration.

On Truth Social last month, Trump called Chao crazy, while referring to McConnell as a broken down hack politician.

Chao resigned a day after the attack on the Capitol, when a pro-Trump mob chanted “hang Mike Pence” while storming the building. She later sat for a videotaped interview with the House Jan. 6 committee.

On Friday, Trump said McConnell must immediately seek help and advise from his China loving wife, Coco Chow!

Chao was born in Taipei.

NBC News has asked McConnell’s office for comment.

Where Else Has Trump Campaigned

On June 18, 2022, Trump held his American Freedom Tour event in Memphis, Tennessee.

He was joined on stage by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Dinesh D’Souza, Mark Burns, Sheriff Mark Lamb, and a number of other conservative speakers at Landers Center.

On Saturday, May 28, he made his first-ever appearance at a rally in Casper, Wyoming, where he endorsed GOP congressional candidate Harriet Hageman, who will be challenging Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming.

Previously, former President Donald Trump headlined the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting in Texas on Friday, May 27.

In a post via Truth Social, Trump said he would be keeping his “longtime commitment” to speak at the event in Houston because the country needs “real solutions and real leadership at this moment.”

The news comes after a mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas left at least 19 students and two teachers dead.

According to NPR, attendees were not able to carry guns during his address and were searched with magnetometers before entry by Secret Service.

He showed his support for Republican candidate Harriet Hageman, who is campaigning against Liz Cheney.

Over the years, Trump and Cheney have not seen eye-to-eye and have called each other out on several occasions.

In October 2021, Trump went as far as calling her a “smug fool” after she backed a criminal contempt vote against former White House aide Stephen Bannon, The Hill reports.

Bannon Will Not Testify In Contempt Trial

Steve Bannon will not testify in his contempt of Congress trial.

Bannon went to trial for ignoring a Congressional subpoena from the House Select Committee investigating the events of Jan. 6.

Bannons team told the judge Thursday that it will not present a case to the jury. There will be no witnesses called, no evidence presented and no testimony from Bannon himself.

The defense is not required to present a case because the burden is on the Justice Department to prove its charges. The trial will go straight to closing arguments and jury instructions.

Bannons team began the day by filing a motion for acquittal, asking the judge to dismiss this case, according to pool reports from inside the courtroom.

Its abundantly clear that there was no evidence presented that the defendant is guilty, Bannons attorney Evan Corcoran said, before the jury came into the courtroom.

He added that no reasonable juror could conclude that Mr. Bannon refused to comply.

The defense argued Wednesday that the deadline to appear before the committee was flexible.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Amanda Vaughn said the government did present sufficient evidence. She added that the dates to comply were clearly stated on the subpoena.

The committee made clear in its letters to the defendant that those were the dates and they had violated them, she said.
