If Biden wins the next election and manages to complete his second term, he will be 86 years old by the time he leaves office in January of 2029.
If we look at the odds, Biden has a 50% chance of living to that age.
On the other hand, if Trump retakes the White House and finishes a second term, he will be 82 in 2029. Judging by the interim life table, Trump has a 66% chance of living that long.
Trump & Biden Might Be Super Agers
Forbes reported that both Biden and Trump are likely to be in good health during their term if either is elected, positing that both might be super agers. The term refers to men who live significantly longer than other men in their peer demographic group, according to the Journal of Active Aging.
The doctors who wrote the report said that Trump and Biden both came from families with longevity, which might allow both men to maintain high mental and physical functioning much longer than average.
Interestingly, Forbes reported that Biden was expected to outlive Trump according to the paper. He had a projected lifespan of 96.8 years compared to Trumps of 88.6 years. One of the main differences, Forbes noted, was Trumps obesity compares to Bidens health for a man his age.

Neither candidate is projected to have major cognitive functioning challenges now or over the next four years, despite critical campaign rhetoric claiming otherwise.

Biden, who will turn 78 just days after the November 3 election, has a 95.2 percent probability of surviving a four-year term in office, compared to Trump at 90.3 percent, according to the study data.

Who Were The Oldest Presidents
Before President Biden was sworn in on Wednesday, President Donald J. Trump held the record for the countrys oldest chief executive. He was 70 in January 2017, when he became the 45th president.
Before him, President Ronald Reagan was the oldest president. He was 69 in 1981 when he was inaugurated for his first term.
In a debate with Walter Mondale during his 1984 re-election campaign, Mr. Reagan made light of the issue of age.
I want you to know that also I will not make age an issue of this campaign, he said. I am not going to exploit for political purposes my opponents youth and inexperience.
Mr. Reagan was 77 after his second term, the oldest president to leave office.
More than a century before him, William Henry Harrison held the distinction of being the oldest president at the time, when he was inaugurated in 1841 at age 68. Mr. Harrison, who had caught a cold that developed into pneumonia, died after 32 days in office. He became the first president to die in office and to date, has served the shortest tenure in U.S. presidential history.
At 96, Jimmy Carter is the oldest living former president.
Role In The 2016 Presidential Campaign
During his second term, Biden was often said to be preparing for a possible bid for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination. With his family, many friends, and donors encouraging him in mid-2015 to enter the race, and with Hillary Clinton‘s favorability ratings in decline at that time, Biden was reported to again be seriously considering the prospect and a “Draft Biden 2016″ PAC was established.
As of September 11,2015, Biden was still uncertain about running. He felt his son’s recent death had largely drained his emotional energy, and said, “nobody has a right … to seek that office unless they’re willing to give it 110% of who they are.” On October 21, speaking from a podium in the Rose Garden with his wife and Obama by his side, Biden announced his decision not to run for president in 2016. In January 2016, Biden affirmed that it was the right decision, but admitted to regretting not running for president “every day”.
After Obama endorsed Hillary Clinton on June 9, 2016, Biden endorsed her later that day. Throughout the 2016 election, Biden strongly criticized Clinton’s opponent, Donald Trump, in often colorful terms.

Development Of A Candidacy
Biden had nurtured dreams of someday running for president going back to his college days. He had been mentioned among possible contenders in the 1984 presidential election. He had considered the notion in 1983, urged on by pollster Pat Caddell, who thought there was space for a young candidate. A fiery speech he gave to several Democratic audiences had simultaneously scolded Democrats for outdated thinking and encouraged them regarding future directions, and had gained him some notice in the party. However, Biden did not enter the race that season. Nonetheless, he won one vote at the 1984 Democratic National Convention.
Biden was active on the party speaking circuit from 1985 on, and was considered one of the best orators among the potential presidential candidates for 1988. The declared absence of Senator Ted Kennedy from the field, to whom Biden was sometimes compared, was also encouraging to a possible Biden candidacy.
Biden received considerable attention in the summer of 1986 when he excoriated Secretary of StateGeorge Shultz at a Senate hearing because of the Reagan administrations stance towards South Africa and its system of apartheid.

Biden Works Out Five Days Per Week Physician Says
The Democratic campaign had also made the case that Mr Biden wasn’t an average septuagenarian.
His physician, Kevin O’Connor, in a medical report released by the campaign in December, described Mr Biden as “healthy, vigorous fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander-in-Chief.”
Dr O’Connor reported that Mr Biden works out five days a week. The president-elect told supporters that during the pandemic he has relied on home workouts involving a Peloton bike, treadmill and weights.
In 1988, Mr Biden suffered two life-threatening brain aneurysms, an experience that he wrote in his memoir shaped him into the “kind of man I want to be”.
Dr O’Connor also noted in his report that Mr Biden has an irregular heartbeat, but it has not required any medication or other treatment. He also had his gall bladder removed in 2003.

Joe Biden Holds 2024 Edge Over Donald Trump Despite Midterm Woes: Poll
President Joe Biden has a slight edge over former President Donald Trump in a potential rematch in the 2024 presidential election despite his low approval ratings and concerns about Democrats‘ potential midterm losses.
A Yahoo! News Survey conducted by YouGov found that the president enjoys a slim lead over Trump among U.S. adults and among registered voters, while the poll also contains some good news for Democrats heading into November.
The survey found that 42 percent of adults said they would vote for Biden in a hypothetical 2024 match-up, compared to 39 percent who said they would vote for Trump and 19 percent who said they were not sure.
The poll was conducted from May 19 to 22 among 1,573 adults and had a margin of error of +/-2.8 percent. Among those surveyed were 1,369 registered voters.
Biden enjoyed 44 percent support among registered voters, while former President Trump recorded 42 percent support. A further 15 percent of registered voters said they were not sure.
The YouGov poll also appeared to have good news for Democrats heading into crucial midterm elections. The survey found that 38 percent of adults said they would vote for the Democratic candidate in the district where they live, compared with 36 percent who opted for the Republican and 15 percent who were not sure.
Death Of Wife And Daughter
On December 18, 1972, a few weeks after the election, Biden’s wife Neilia and one-year-old daughter Naomi were killed in an automobile accident while Christmas shopping in Hockessin, Delaware. Neilia’s station wagon was hit by a semi-trailer truck as she pulled out from an intersection. Their sons Beau and Hunter survived the accident and were taken to the hospital in fair condition, Beau with a broken leg and other wounds and Hunter with a minor skull fracture and other head injuries. Biden considered resigning to care for them, but Senate Majority LeaderMike Mansfield persuaded him not to.
Years later, Biden said he had heard that the truck driver allegedly drank alcohol before the collision. The driver’s family denied that claim, and the police never substantiated it. Biden later apologized to the family. The accident had filled him with anger and religious doubt. He wrote that he “felt God had played a horrible trick” on him, and he had trouble focusing on work.

Presidential Runs And Vice Presidency
Biden pursued the 1988 Democratic presidential nomination but withdrew after it was revealed that parts of his campaign stump speech had been plagiarized from British Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock without appropriate attribution. His 2008 presidential campaign never gained momentum, and he withdrew from the race after placing fifth in the Iowa Democratic caucus in January of that year. After Barack Obama amassed enough delegates to secure the Democratic presidential nomination, Biden emerged as a front-runner to be Obamas vice presidential running mate. On August 23 Obama officially announced his selection of Biden as the Democratic Partys vice presidential nominee, and on August 27 Obama and Biden secured the Democratic Partys nomination. On November 4 the Obama-Biden ticket defeated John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin, and Biden also easily won reelection to his U.S. Senate seat. He resigned from the Senate post shortly before taking the oath of office as vice president on January 20, 2009. In November 2012 Obama and Biden were reelected for a second term, defeating the Republican ticket of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.
Posthumous Awards And Legacy
On November 4, 2015, Biden was posthumously awarded the Albert Schweitzer Leadership Award, the highest honor given by the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation , for his service to mankind. A portion of the 21st Century Cures Act was named the “Beau Biden Cancer Moonshot” initiative after him. A named scholarship was established at Syracuse UniversityCollege of Law in 2016.
In August 2016, Joe Biden, his sister Valerie Biden Owens and son Hunter attended a ceremony that renamed a southeastern Kosovar highway “Joseph R. ‘Beau’ Biden, III” to honour Beau’s contribution to Kosovo for training its judges and prosecutors. That year the Major Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III National Guard/Reserve Center in New Castle, Delaware was named in his honor. On November 14, 2017, Joe Biden published a memoir titled Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose, where he reflects on Beau Biden’s illness and death.
On March 2, 2020, Joe Biden mentioned Beau in a speech, comparing him to former South Bend Mayor, Pete Buttigieg, after Buttigieg endorsed Biden for the 2020 presidential election.

In the 2012 U.S. presidential election, in which her husband was running for re-election as vice president, Biden played a modest role. She did not cut back on her teaching schedule and made few solo campaign appearances. This reflected her continuing distaste both for politics and for public speaking, even though the Obama campaign considered her valuable in connecting to military families, teachers, and women.
