Former President Donald Trump will hold his next campaign-style rally in Alabama later this month, his political organization announced Monday.
Trump will travel to Cullman, located about halfway between Birmingham and Huntsville on Interstate 65, to deliver remarks on Aug. 21, according to Save America. The rally will take place on the same day the state Republican Party holds its summer meeting, also in Cullman.
The 45th president won Alabama by more than 25 percentage points in both the 2016 and 2020 elections. However, while Trump traveled to the Yellowhammer State in 2019 to take in the college football showdown between Alabama and LSU, he has not delivered a speech in the state since September of 2017.
On that occasion, Trump visited Huntsville to campaign for then-Sen. Luther Strange in the special election to fill the seat of Jeff Sessions, whom Trump had tapped to be his attorney general. Someone’s going to get hurt. Someone’s going to get shot. Someone’s going to get killed”.
A January 2 article by The Daily Beast reported protesters were discussing bringing guns to the District, breaking into federal buildings, and attacking law enforcement. The article quoted one popular comment “I’m thinking it will be literal war on that day. Where we’ll storm offices and physically remove and even kill all the D.C. traitors and reclaim the country”.

A large crowd is expected at Donald Trump‘s upcoming rally in Iowa following recent positive polls and continuing speculation about his 2024 plans.
The former president is set to headline the “Save America” event at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines on Saturday, with other speakers including Iowa Representatives Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Ashley Hinson, and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig.
Organizers have told Iowa’s Local 5 that they expect tens of thousands of people to attend the rally, which will take place after a Des Moines Register-Mediacom Iowa Poll revealed that Trump is more popular now than he has ever been in the state which he won easily in both 2016 and 2020.
The survey shows that 53 percent of Iowansincluding 91 percent of Republicanshave a favorable view of Trump, with 45 percent having an unfavorable view. As noted by TheDes Moines Register, these figures are Trump’s best showing ever on either metric in Iowa.
The results mean that there is a potential subplot around the upcoming rally in Iowa. It is likely that the GOP will keep Iowa as the first voting state in the caucuses to find the 2024 presidential candidate, meaning what voters think in the Hawkeye state still carry huge significance.
“Even somebody that’s getting a 91 percent approval rating has to make their case for running for the presidency,” Kauffman said.

Trump has something of an obsession with big crowds, frequently boasting about the size of his rallies compared with those of Joe Biden, his Democratic rival for Novembers presidential election.
The president refrained from commenting on the rally as the dust settled the following morning, tweeting only to deliver a Fathers Day greeting.
But several US media outlets, citing multiple sources close to the White House, said he was furious at the small crowd in Tulsa.
Senior Trump campaign aide Mercedes Schlapp told Fox News Sunday that attendees had been unable to get into the BOK Center because their way was blocked by demonstrators.
