For those people who still have Trump signs on their lawns get over it!

The election is over and President Donald Trump lost, regardless of what he or anyone else says.

Trump lost not because there was anything wrong with the election, but because he has been, and is, an embarrassment to himself and democracy.

The signs may make good kindling, because theyre not good for anything else.

Trump Endorses Gosar One Day After House Censure

NEW YORK Former President Donald Trump is endorsing Rep. Paul Gosar, one day after the Arizona Republican was censured by the House of Representatives for posting a violent cartoon video that depicted a character with his face killing one with New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s.

Trump, in a statement, hailed Gosar as a loyal supporter of our America First agenda” and highly respected in Arizona,” and said he “has my Complete and Total Endorsement! The statement made no mention of the House’s rare rebuke just the fourth in nearly 40 years which also stripped Gosar of his two committee assignments, on the Natural Resources and the Oversight and Reform panels.

Gosar has said the video, which was produced by his taxpayer-funded office, had been mischaracterized and was not intended to be a threat. In addition to Ocasio-Cortez, the the video also depicted Gosar’s character attacking President Joe Biden with swords.

Gosar is no stranger to controversy. Hes made appearances at fringe right-wing events, including a gathering in Florida last February hosted by a man who has promoted white supremacist beliefs, and earlier this year looked to form an America First Caucus with other hard-line Republican House members that aimed to promote Anglo-Saxon political traditions.”

Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, meanwhile, has called the censure an abuse of power by Democrats and signaled payback should Republicans retake the House majority next year.

Letters To The Editor: Trump Is Shiny Object Democrats Want To Bash They Should Focus On The Senate

To the editor: Claiming former President Trump “is the real threat behind the scenes, and he must not be allowed to return to power” in 2024, columnist Nicholas Goldberg seems to have forgotten how then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked Supreme Court confirmation hearings for Merrick Garland, changed the Senate filibuster rule to a majority vote for all Supreme Court appointments, and broke his own precedent of no court appointments near a presidential election all resulting in our present super-conservative court.

This history shows that control of the House and Senate is more important to healthcare, fair elections and climate change than just keeping Trump out of the White House.

Vigorously working to add two or three more Democratic senators to the present majority seems smarter than bashing Trump. That could allow some counter-balance to the two “moderate” Democratic senators whose moderation is too often sweet music to GOP ears.

To the editor: It’s disgusting and frankly feels like living in a nightmare to watch the wheels of justice move so slowly and the opportunity to nail Trump slip away. It reminds me, unfortunately, of how the Germans watched the Nazis take over their country without anyone doing enough to stop them.

Aaron Eshman, Santa Monica

To the editor: The ex-president continues to use the media to feed his pathological hunger for importance.

The only way to silence Trump is to be silent.

Loretta Redd, Santa Barbara

Trump Pence Keep America Great 2020 18x24 Yard Sign WITH ...

There were many priceless moments in Caity Weavers profile in The Times of Sam Asghari, a.k.a. Mr. Britney Spears, and while most can be wholly appreciated only in the context of the entire article, a few sentences do just fine on their own. Like this one, about two of Asgharis intrusive and fidgety handlers: If Mr. Asghari is the heart of the Sam Asghari business, Maxi and Mr. Cohen are the palpitations. And this one, about his response to all their fussing: After each disruption, he retrieved the path of his thoughts as nonchalantly as a storm-blown songbird recovers its migratory route to the tropics.

Amanda Hesss take on the cultural evolution of Botox is a similar buffet of delicious sentences, and I nominate these representative morsels: Though there are several competing brands, Botox is the Kleenex of the category. It presents the kind of bargain one might strike with a nefarious sea witch: She will grant you eternal youth, but at the price of being able to move your face. Botox once suggested vanity, delusion and self-consciousness, but now it has fresh associations: with confidence, resilience, even authenticity, as the idea of having work done has come to be seen as a legitimate form of work. Female movie stars are no longer buried after a certain age instead they are embalmed.

Theres A Katie Britt For Senate Sign In My Front Yard

Five months ago, I wrote that Katie Britt, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, would be a solid choice to replace retiring Senator Richard Shelby. But truth be told, I didnt give her much of a chance to compete against Trump-endorsed candidate Congressman Mo Brooks, because an endorsement by the former president seemed a slam dunk that even Brooks could not screw up.

But that didnt stop Britt from trading in her high-paying job at the Business Council of Alabama for the campaign trail, and her hard work is starting to pay off. During the last fundraising period she raised $1.5 million, more than double Brooks haul, and she recently received the coveted endorsement from the Alabama Farmers Federation.

No stranger to Washington politics, Britt has a law degree from Alabama and prior to being named President and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama in 2019, she served as Chief of Staff to Senator Richard Shelby. Originally from the Wiregrass, she is married to Wesley Britt, a former offensive tackle who played at Alabama followed by several years in the NFL. They have two children.

It was all good news for her campaign last week with two separate polls showing her in the lead for the first time. A recent poll conducted by the highly reputable firm Cygnal shows Britt and Brooks leading the field of five candidates with 24% and 22% respectively. Britt also led Brooks in a head-to-head runoff scenario 35% to 29%.

Trump Yard Sign Rigged With Razor Blades Left Town Worker Needing 13 Stitches

A town employee in Michigan had to get 13 stitches after he sliced three fingers on razor blades attached to the bottom of a Trump 2020 campaign yard sign.

The 52-year-old municipal employee in Commerce Township, about 40 miles northwest of Detroit, was asked to remove signs that violated a city ordinance, the Oakland County Sheriffs Office said in a news release. Signs are required to be 33 feet from the center of roadways, and a political sign in the yard of a home was 9 feet too close to the street.

When he went to remove one of the signs, he was cut by razor blades that had been attached to the bottom edge of the sign, the sheriffs office said. Both signs removed from that location had several razor blades taped all along the bottom edge. He received lacerations to three fingers which required medical attention.

Commerce Township Supervisor Dave Scott told NBC affiliate WDIV in Detroit that his employee initially thought he had been electrified and then looked at his hand and saw that he was bleeding aggressively.

The man drove himself to a hospital where he received 13 stitches in his fingers. Scott said he was angry about the incident.

Why would someone set a booby-trap sign to harm someone? A child could have picked it up, he told the outlet.

The sheriffs office is investigating the incident, and according to WDIV, officials in the township said they may seek legal action over the incident.

There is a sign that has become ubiquitous on the lawns of Democrats who have lawns. In This House, We Believe, the sign begins, followed by a stack of progressive maxims listed in capital letters. The classic version reads: Black Lives Matter / Womens Rights Are Human Rights / No Human Is Illegal / Science Is Real / Love Is Love. Then the kicker: Kindness Is Everything.

When the yard sign first appeared, in the wake of the 2016 election, I barely noticed it. That era had produced such an exhausting array of ironic paraphernalia that a placard of earnest liberal word salad hardly registered as a rich text. But over the past five years, as the sign spread across the suburbs, I found myself seduced by its chaotic jumble of typefaces, its lifestyle-blog-adjacent aesthetic, its sanctimonious final line and its curious staying power.

How Lets Go Brandon Became An Unofficial Gop Slogan

Trump yard sign thieves get Instant Karma shocked stabbed and chased off! #2

Republicans are eating pizzas with the slogan expressed in pepperoni. Theyre wrapping holiday gifts in paper emblazoned with it, courtesy of the National Republican Congressional Committee. One congresswoman even wrapped herself with it wearing a red dress to a gala with the phrase written on the back.

The anti-President Biden mantra Lets go Brandon has morphed from an inside joke among some conservativesto virtually an unofficial motto of the Republican Party, a way to insult the administration, voice anger about its tenure and signal irritation with the media all in language designed to conceal an expletive.

Its seen by many on the right as a clever way to go after Biden and viewed as immature and offensive on the left, a reaction that has only amplified its appeal to many on the right. For a Republican Party that can be fractious, it unites factions behind an expression of distaste for the opposing partys leader, who also happens to be the president.

Unlike most successful political slogans, this one requires considerable explanation: It is a stand-in for the cruder F— Joe Biden chant that has erupted at sports venues and rallies across the country. Other than a vague echo, the connection between the two phrases is not obvious, another part of its appeal.

Republicans are reveling in expressing their distaste.

Spicer said the phrase has taken on several meanings, depending on the circumstance.

Pa Sen Scott Wagner: Im Buying 20000 Trump Lawn Signs

While some Republicans in the state fret about their association with Donald Trump even skipping the Republican National Convention altogether to avoid affiliation-by-osmosis PA Sen. Scott Wagner is working overtime to boost for the billionaire businessman-turned-presidential nominee.

Im going to purchase 20,000 Trump lawn signs anyone who wants a Trump sign in my district is going to get one, he said, speaking from his delegate spot at the RNC, in Cleveland. Im going to make sure the base is energized. Pennsylvania is a crucial state this year.

Wagner is a businessman who successfully ran for his seat in the 28th District as a write-in candidate two years ago with a pro-business, Tea Party-esque platform. His district, encompassing most of York County, is a sweet spot for Trumps key white working class demographic, and Wagner has been eying a run against Gov. Tom Wolfs in 2018.

Prominent state GOP members, like US Sen. Pat Toomey, have waffled on their support for Trump, fearing that being associated with his racist rhetoric will damage their own future election hopes. But the state senator has been a prominent support and said hed even been flown out to strategize with Trumps national campaign team and PA operatives.

The state senator had choice words for his hesitant colleagues.

Wagner said hed pay for the lawn signs with his own campaign funds, but didnt know offhand how much they would cost.

When it comes to presidential campaigns, it used to be that sticky bumper stickers were forever but campaign yard signs would come and go with the election cycle.

The rectangular campaign signs would crop up a month or two before a primary or general election on front yards and patches of public land along roads. Then the signs would multiply, crowding each other the closer it got to Election Day.

Republican Glenn Youngkin Wins Election For Governor In Virginia

Its laughable for anybody to suggest Cheney isnt a conservative Republican, Cheney spokesman Jeremy Adler said by text message Monday.

She is bound by her oath to the Constitution. Sadly a portion of the Wyoming GOP leadership has abandoned that fundamental principle and instead allowed themselves to be held hostage to the lies of a dangerous and irrational man, Adler added.

Cheney is now facing at least four Republican opponents in the 2022 primary including Cheyenne attorney Harriet Hageman, whom Trump has endorsed. Hageman in a statement called the latest state GOP central committee vote fitting, the Casper Star-Tribune reported.

Liz Cheney stopped recognizing what Wyomingites care about a long time ago. When she launched her war against President Trump, she completely broke with where we are as a state, Hageman said.

In May, Republicans in Washington, D.C., removed Cheney from a top congressional GOP leadership position after she continued to criticize Trumps false claims that voter fraud cost him re-election.

Cheney had survived an earlier attempt to remove her as chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, a role that shapes GOP messaging in the chamber.
