Trump Ramps Up Rally Schedule | 11th Hour

A man has been arrested at the US Capitol in Washington, DC with a fake badge, body armour, a BB gun, high capacity magazines and other ammunition, Capitol Police said.

The former president also reiterated his support for state Sen. Dawn Buckingham in her quest to become Texas land commissioner, former state Sen. Pete Flores in his campaign to reenter the Legislature, Phil Sorrells in the Tarrant County district attorney race and Frederick Frazier in House District 61.

Early voting in the May 24 runoff elections begins Monday.

Our country in many ways is being destroyed, Trump said of Democrats. The Biden disasters are too numerous to count, but inflation is the highest in nearly 50 years. Gas prices have reached the highest price ever in the history of our country, destroying families.

Trump also touched on several flashpoint topics that have energized those on the far right, including public education, border security and voting integrity. He also raised his debunked false claims of the 2020 election being stolen.

Under a Republican Congress, we will once and for all ban critical race theory in our schools, and we will stand up for parental rights, Trump said.

Trump To Hold April Rally In Michigan

Former President Trump is set to hold a rally in Michigan next month, traveling to a state that is at the center of his unfounded claims of election fraud in the 2020 election.

Trumps leadership PAC announced Friday that hell hold the rally in Washington Township on April 2. Hell give remarks in support of Matthew DePerno and Kristina Karamo, his endorsed candidates for Michigan attorney general and secretary of state, respectively.

Michigan has emerged as a top swing state in recent cycles, handing Trump a narrow victory in 2016 and a loss by about 3 percentage points in 2020.

Trump has repeatedly said that voter fraud robbed him of a victory in the Wolverine State two years ago and has called for further examination into the results despite his loss being confirmed by an audit.

Both DePerno and Karamo are trying to flip offices held by Democrats and have spread conspiracy theories about the 2020 race.

Michigan is hosting a competitive gubernatorial race this year, as well as several other contests down the ballot.

Trump has not yet issued an endorsement in the gubernatorial race but has been a vocal critic of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer , who is running for reelection.

The rally next month will mark the latest in a spree of appearances for Trump, who is set to hold a rally in Georgia next week and recently appeared in South Carolina.

Trump Reiterates Call To Overturn 2020 Election And Doubles Down On Hunter Biden Obsession

10:31Andrew Naughtie

Donald Trump last night reiterated his call to be reinstated as president on the dubious basis that the Hunter Biden laptop story was supposedly not covered closely enough during the last weeks of the campaign.

The latest outrage at the story was kicked off by an interview between erratic podcaster Joe Rogan and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who said his platform had initially limited the spread of a New York Post story about the younger Bidens device in the first few days after it was published. The FBI has denied telling Facebook to do this, saying instead that it simply warned the platform about the potential spread of Russian misinformation targeting the Bidens.

The FBI routinely notifies U.S. private sector entities, including social media providers, of potential threat information, so that they can decide how to better defend against threats, the bureau said in a statement.

There is no obvious legal standard under which the election can be overturned or nullified nearly two years after the fact.

What We Know And Dont Know About What Trump Did On Jan 6

As the committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection weighs how much responsibility President Donald Trump holds for that violence, members have said that finding out what Trump did or didnt do that day is one of their top priorities.

Based on whats been publicly reported, there are substantial chunks of Trumps day that we dont know about especially what he did during the 187 minutes of the attack before he released a video telling protesters, Go home. I love you, youre special. We know Trump was working the phones all day, but official White House call logs go dark around the time protesters storm the Capitol and start back up again after its secured by the military.

Several new details emerged Tuesday afternoon when Cassidy Hutchinson, a former top White House aide, testified before the committee and shared what she saw and heard that day. She testified that Trump knew the protesters who gathered in Washington on Jan. 6, 2021, had weapons and he encouraged them to go to the U.S. Capitol anyway. Her testimony raised even more questions about what Trump knew about the attack.

Here is what we know about Trumps actions on Jan. 6, and the major questions that still remain.

Iowa National Democrats Criticize State Republicans For Supporting Trump After Jan 6 Riot

Iowa Democratic Party Chair Ross Wilburn criticized Iowa Republicans for supporting Trump after his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in January.

Iowa Republicans have tied themselves to a man who attacked the foundations of our democracy throughout his time in office, Wilburn said in a statement. Just nine months ago, he incited a violent mob to attack his own Vice President and threaten the lives of lawmakers who were simply fulfilling their constitutional duty to certify our election.

A slew of Iowas top Republican leaders warmed up the crowd ahead of Trump, including Reynolds, Grassley and U.S. Reps. Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks.

Reynolds led the crowd in a chant of U.S.A. and criticized Biden on his immigration policies, mentioning that she visited the U.S.-Mexico border this week.

I was just there this week, she said. You know whos never been there? Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They dont care. They dont care whats happening at the border.

Vice President Kamala Harris visited the U.S.-Mexico border in June.

Reynolds also mentioned Bidens COVID-19 response, eliciting boos from the crowd.

They dont respect you, she said of Democrats. They dont respect your faith, your values. They dont think youre capable of making your own decisions and they dont think you should. And this is what America looks like under democratic leadership but Im here to tell you were fighting back.

Hageman Focuses On Wyoming Roots

4:32 p.m.

Hageman led off the second half of the rally and started her speech by focusing on her Wyoming roots, contrasting her time in the Equality State with her opponent, Rep. Liz Cheney. She talked about her upbringing in Fort Laramie and time at college, first in Casper and then the University of Wyoming.

I am Wyoming, she said. I know what it means to ride for the brand. I have fought for Wyoming and I will fight for you.

Harriet Hageman, Donald Trumps pick for U.S. House in Wyoming, greets supporters outside the Ford Wyoming Center on Saturday ahead of Trumps rally.

The Cheney family is from Casper, but Liz Cheney spent only a few years here growing up. She returned to Wyoming in 2012, a year before launching an unsuccessful Senate bid. She won her House seat in 2016.

I will reclaim Wyomings congressional seat from that Virginian that now holds it, Hageman said.

Hageman drew a huge response after going through a list of things she said Republicans were fed up with mask mandates, vaccine mandates, Cheney and the radical Biden agenda.

Icymi: Lindsey Graham Warns Of Riots In The Streets

Former President Trump to speak at Save America Rally in South Carolina Saturday

Monday 29 August 2022 14:05Andrew Naughtie

South Carolina Republican senator Lindsay Graham has said that if former president Donald Trump is indicted then there will be riots in the streets.

Speaking to Fox News host Trey Gowdy on Sunday Night in America Mr Graham said: Most Republicans, including me, believes when it comes to Trump, there is no law. Its all about getting him.

There is a double standard when it comes to Trump. What happened with Hunter Biden is that the FBI weighed in to make sure the story didnt break before the 2020 election.

We now have whistleblowers at the FBI telling Sen. Grassley that they were told to slow down and back off Hunter Biden. And Ill say this, if there is a prosecution of Donald Trump for mishandling classified information after the Clinton debacle there will be riots in the street.

Sravasti Dasgupta has the story.

Monday 29 August 2022 18:08John Bowden

Republican candidates running for office this year are leaning in to fake news more than ever before.

Researchers have published a new study looking at the social media habits of both Democratic and Republican congressional candidates active on social media in the 2022 midterm season. What they found was not all that surprising.

Sarah Palin, the ex-governor of Alaska currently running for the states open congressional seat, has shared links to unreliable sites that spread misinformation nearly 1,000 times over the course of 202, the study found.

And her Republican colleagues vastly outpaced their Democratic rivals in terms of similar conspiracy-posting on their accounts.

Former President Donald Trump visits Conroe for ‘Save America Rally’

Former president Donald Trump on Monday issued a bizarre demand that he be declared the winner of the 2020 election nearly two years after he lost his re-election bid to Joe Biden, or a new election be held in the alternative.

There is no mechanism in American law or history for a presidential election to be re-run, nor for the loser of an election to be declared the winner two years after the fact. But Mr Trump appeared to be ignorant of this fact when he took to his own Truth Social platform to make such an impossible demand Monday morning.

Andrew Feinberg reports for The Independent.

Mr Trump also claims he should be declared the winner of the 2020 election because, in his opinion, the FBI buried a widely-publicised report on the contents of a laptop purportedly belonging to President Joe Bidens son Hunter Biden
