Will Donald Trump be held accountable for the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 and what was a multi-layered conspiracy to overturn the results of the presidential election?

Attorney General Merrick Garland has stated that, Were just going to follow the facts wherever they lead … to hold all perpetrators who are criminally responsible for January 6 accountable, regardless of their level, their position…

The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack has systematically revealed the facts, confirming what Republican Rep. Liz Cheney stated when she announced she would vote to impeach Donald Trump:

On January 6, 2021 a violent mob attacked the United States Capitol to obstruct the process of our democracy and stop the counting of presidential electoral votes. This insurrection caused injury, death and destruction in the most sacred space in our Republic…, Cheney said.

The president of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the president, she said. The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not. There has never been a greater betrayal by a president of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution.

Trump: Guilty By Treason

Whoever owing allegiance to the U.S. levies war against them is guilty of treason.

Former president Trump recruited the Proud Boys and other militia. Instructing them, Stand back and stand down await your orders.

He set the date for the Capitol attack. Come to D.C. January 6th Will be Wild! He deployed them. Go to the Capitol and fight like hell or you wont have a country anymore! Go stop the certification.

He then sat in the White House dining room for more than three hours watching on TV the crazed mob attack our sacred Capitol and assaulted Capitol Police as Congressional members and their staffers hunkered down for safety. The presidents staff members and his own children begged him to call off the crazed mob and send reinforcements to the Capitol to defend the people being assaulted. The president refused. In an act of revenge, Donald Trump expressed support for the crowd attempting to locate and hang Vice President Mike Pence on the Capitol steps.

Maybe Mike Pence should be hanged! Mike Pence finally gave the order to send reinforcements, an order that he made although he did not have the authority to give.

President Donald Trump is the first president in our democracys history to forcibly impede the peaceful transition of power. Therefore he owing allegiance to the U.S. levies war against them, is guilty of treason.

Donald Trump Is On The Hook For Treason Msnbcs Glenn Kirschner Says Trump Levied War Against Us On Jan 6

Former federal prosecutor and current MSNBC legal analyst Glenn Kirschner told SiriusXM radio host Dean Obeidallah that former President Donald Trump is on the hook for treason because he levied war against the United States.

On Fridays edition of The Dean Obeidallah Show, the host asked Kirschner about the evidence that has come out of the , and Kirschner went a bit further than even the most strident analysts by accusing Trump of a crime punishable by death:

Donald Trump’s Jan 6 Actions Qualify As ‘treason’: Glenn Kirschner

Former U.S. Army prosecutor Glenn Kirschner said he believes what former President Donald Trump did on January 6, 2021, “qualifies as treason.”

Hundreds of Trump supporters violently stormed the U.S. Capitol a little over 15 months ago in an apparent effort to disrupt the formal certification of President Joe Biden‘s Electoral College victory in a joint-session of Congress. Their attack came directly after Trump told them at a nearby Washington, D.C. rally to walk to the Capitol and “fight like hell” to save their country, following months of lying about the 2020 election results.

Kirschner, who now works as a legal analyst for MSNBC and NBC News, gave an overview and assessment of recent remarks by Representative Jamie Raskin, a Maryland Democrat serving on the commission investigating the January 6 assault, outlining the next steps for the House select committee. Raskin described Trump’s actions as “a coup organized by the president against the vice president and against the Congress in order to overturn the 2020 presidential election,” in an interview with Reuters, Climate One and The Guardian.

“We know he did,” the legal expert continued. “I would even go so far as to say that what Donald Trump did qualifies as treason.” Kirschner then laid out how treason is defined by federal law.

Peter Navarro Says Mike Pence Is Guilty Of Treason Against Trump

Treason: Dissing President Trump its not. Heres what is.

Former Trump White House official Peter Navarro, who helped devise a scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election, declared Monday that former Vice President Mike Pence is guilty of treason to at least President Trump and perhaps to this country.

Navarro, who has been criminally charged for ignoring a congressional subpoena for testimony over his involvement in Jan. 6, last month unsuccessfully tried to delay his trial, claiming his book tour will occupy too much of his time. A frequent, talkative guest on news networks, the Trump administration trade adviser still managed to do some promotional work for it Monday on the friendly airwaves of The Balance, Eric Bollings Newsmax show.

Recalling the days prior to Jan. 6, Navarro told Bolling that he remembered an aide telling him that Pence wanted to speak with him over the phone.

I get on the line and its crickets. And what happened, I think, was that his Koch Brother chief of staff, Marc Short, intercepted the call backed Pence off, Navarro said.

Pence, Navarro complained, effectively stuck a knife in Trumps back by not adhering to his scheme.

Is Trump’s Behavior Treasonous

Have we reached the point in America where the president, with total impunity, can attack the very foundation of our democracy? Do we dare call such a thing treason? And must we accept such behavior as a presidential right?

Its not as if no one saw this coming. Mary Trump, a clinical psychologist and the presidents niece, wrote a best-seller in which she argued that as long as Trump is in office, he’ll threaten national security and play politics with American lives: Hell withhold ventilators or steal supplies from states that have not groveled sufficiently. If New York continues not to have enough equipment, Trump will focus on humiliating its governor, whom he despises and whose leadership skills he envies, rather than helping its residents.

She wrote that months before the presidents recent news briefing in which he made a veiled threat to hold up the COVID-19 vaccination for New Yorkers until Cuomo decided he was “ready for it.”

In a tweet, essentially fulfilling his nieces prophecy, Trump falsely accused Cuomo of planning to delay the vaccines delivery. Other states, he added, WANT IT NOW. Never mind that the now Trump is referring to is next spring, when he will be long gone from the White House and therefore incapable of humiliating New Yorks governor by denying access to the vaccine.

Trump In ‘really Dangerous Territory’ Maybe Committed ‘treason’: Kirschner

Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner said Friday that Donald Trump is in “really dangerous territory” legally, and that the former president may have committed “treason.”

Trump faces multiple investigations into his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, his business practices and his alleged mishandling of classified government documents. The former president’s Florida residence was raided by the FBI on August 8 as agents sought to recover top secret and classified documents he had allegedly resisted turning over after leaving the White House.

In response to the raid, Trump initially floated the possibility that federal agents had planted the classified materials at his Mar-a-Lago home. He and his team, however, later pivoted to say that he had “declassified” the documents. Speaking to MSNBC on Friday, Kirschner pointed out that whether or not the documents were classified doesn’t make a difference when looking at the laws the search warrant cited as having potentially been violated.

“Importantly, none of those three crimes require that the documents be classified,” the legal analyst for MSNBC and NBC News said. “So Donald Trump forever carping about, ‘I thought these things were declassified,’ and so magically they werethat’s not a defense. It doesn’t matter.”

“Let’s not forget about that little crime that may actually amount to treason,” he added.

Treason: Legal Expert Lays Out 5 Factors That Would Nail Trump

During an appearance on MSNBC on Sunday morning with host Katie Phang, former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner explained that there is more than enough evidence for the Department of Justice to charge Donald Trump with treason.

Going well beyond calls for the former president to be charged with criminal conspiracy as many legal experts have called for, Kirschner said there is ample evidence that Trump “declared war” on the U.S.

“You said he’s guilty. Donald Trump is guilty of treason. Some people have said maybe that’s a little too far to, Glenn. Tell us why it’s not,” host Phang prompted.

“I don’t think it’s hyperbole and here’s why, Katie,” he replied. “Five quick data points that I think demonstrate Donald Trump levied war against the United States, that’s the very definition of treason whoever owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them, the United States, is guilty of treason.”

“Katie, if what I just described is not levying war against the United States, against the democratic process, then what is?”

Prosecute Trump For Treason

Lawrence: What Donald Trump Doesn’t Know About Treason | The Last Word | MSNBC

The rich, powerful and famous must be held to account, the same as the rest of us. They must pay the consequences for their actions, just like ordinary people are expected to. There must not be a double standard for the high and mighty NOBODY is above the law, not even a president or ex-president.

During its 10-month, comprehensive, far reaching fact-finding mission, the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol has researched 140,000-plus documents and interviewed 1,000-plus witnesses. The DOJ has separately charged 800-plus insurrectionists with crimes.

Trump must be prosecuted in a court of law and given a fair trial for allegedly committing the following crimes , and if he is found guilty and does not win appeals, Trump must be punished to the fullest extent of the law. After Congressman Bennie Thompson, Chairman of the Jan. 6 Committee, gaveled the hearings into order on June 9, pulling no punches, Thompson boldly asserted that after losing the presidential election, Trump perpetrated:

Any legal jargon you hear about seditious conspiracy, obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the United States boils down to this. January 6th was the culmination of an attempted coup, a brazen attempt, as one rioter put it shortly after January 6th, to overthrow the government. The violence was no accident. It represents seeing Trumps last stand, most desperate chance to halt the transfer of power.

Should Donald Trump Be Prosecuted

After eight congressional hearings investigating the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol, one thing is clear: there is enough evidence to prosecute Donald Trump on a variety of charges. The committee has the option to refer cases to the Justice Department for prosecution, but such a step is not necessary. The Justice Department could decide to prosecute at any time, on whichever charges for which they find sufficient evidence. Already more than 800 people have been charged in connection with the January 6 eventsalthough most have been charged with lesser crimes. So far only 50 have pleaded guilty to felony charges.

But all along, the issue has been not what the 10,000 people who came to Washington D.C. for the rally knew or even what the 2,000 people who made it inside the Capitol building knew. All along the issue has been what did the president know and what did he intend? Was this a rally that simply got out of control? Or was it the first attempt ever by an American president to stage a coup detat?

If it was an attempted coup, it was a pretty pathetic and incompetent one.

Indict Donald Trump Right Now

Back in the age of Watergate, the Congressional hearings that eventually brought down Richard Nixon aimed to answer two questions: What did the president know and when did he know it?

The congressional hearings into the Jan. 6 insurrection fomented by former President Donald Trump have provided clear and obvious answers to these questions. Trump knew everything.

He knew he lost the 2020 election. He knew his claims of fraud were nonsense. He knew that every step of his campaign to steal the election he lost was illegal: from the intimidation of state officials and election workers, to the scheme to empower fake electors, to the plot to corrupt the Justice Department.

He knew he was breaking the law because literally every sane person around him from his lawyers to his most loyal advisors told him so, repeatedly.

Now, thanks to Tuesdays unplanned and explosive sixth hearing, we know just how out of control Donald Trump became, after his multiple efforts to steal the election failed.

Cassidy Hutchinson, a former top aide to Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, painted a precise and chilling portrait of Trumps White House on Jan. 6 and the days immediately preceding it. Based on her testimony, we know the following:

The insurrection was premeditated.

Numerous staffers feared and anticipated violence on Jan. 6.

Trump knew his supporters were armed on Jan. 6, and actually urged security officials to remove metal detectors anyway, because theyre not here to hurt me.

Bill Weld: Trump Is Guilty Of ‘treason Pure And Simple’

Former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld whos waging an uphill battle against Donald Trump for the Republican nomination says its clear the president committed treason by allegedly seeking election assistance from Ukraine.

During a Monday appearance on MSNBCs Morning Joe, Weld said the potential case against Trump couldnt be more obvious amid reports that he asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to help attorney Rudy Giuliani with a probe of former Vice President Joe Bidens son.

Thats not just undermining democratic institutions, Weld said. That is treason. Its treason, pure and simple, and the penalty for treason under the U.S. code is death.

The penalty on the Constitution is removal from office, and that might look like a pretty good alternative to the president if he could work out a plea deal, he added.

“That’s not just undermining democratic institutions. That is treason. It’s treason pure and simple.” — @GovBillWeld

Morning Joe

On Sunday, Trump appeared to confirm that Biden came up during his July discussion with Zelensky, which was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The conversation I had was largely congratulatory, with largely corruption, all of the corruption taking place and largely the fact that we dont want our people like Vice President Biden and his son creating to the corruption already in the Ukraine, Trump told reporters, according to a pool report.

Trump ‘committed Treason’ With Pence Remark: Ex

Opinion

Former Army prosecutor Glenn Kirschner on Thursday said he believes Donald Trump “committed the crime of treason” if a report is true that he said former Vice President Mike Pence should be hanged.

Kirschner made the comments on his YouTube show, Justice Matters. In the video, he discussed a recently released account provided to the House select committee investigating the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021. According to The New York Times‘ reporting of the account, , then the White House chief of staff, told colleagues on January 6 that Trump said “something to the effect of: Maybe Mr. Pence should be hanged.”

“The evidence is mounting that Donald Trump didn’t just incite the insurrection. He committed the crime of treason,” Kirschner said.

Kirschner, who is also an NBC News and MSNBC legal analyst, noted that the Times wrote it wasn’t clear what tone Trump used with his reported comments.

“What tone the president of the United States used when he was saying the vice president should be hanged? Does his tone matter?” Kirschner asked incredulously.

He continued, “So, friends, based on this new reporting, let me state this as plainly and directly as I can: Donald Trump committed the crime of treason.”

Kirschner also from his YouTube program on his account, where he makes his accusation that Trump committed treason.

Trump = treason. End of equation.
