A Pennsylvania lawmaker who participated in former President Donald Trumps second impeachment trial says the Republican should be held responsible by the rule of law, for inciting a crowd of his supporters to march on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 to disrupt the certification of the 2020 election results.
Trump assembled the mob, lit the fuse, and sent them up Pennsylvania Avenue, and did nothing to stop them for more than three hours as rioters battled with U.S. Capitol and Washington D.C. police and rampaged through the Capitol sending members of Congress, their staff, and former Vice President Mike Pence fleeing for their lives, U.S. Rep. Madeleine Dean said Monday.
What I want from Jan. 6 is the same thing as when I served in the second impeachment: I want the truth to come out, Dean, D-4th District, told the Pennsylvania Press Club during its monthly luncheon in Harrisburg. The former president cared only for himself and he wanted to retain power.
And apart from possible criminal charges, Trump also faces high constitutional crimes for failing to immediately stop the violence.
Garland has faced increased pressure to explain why his agency has seemingly done so little, even as prosecutors in Georgiahave moved ahead with their own criminal probe, the New York Times reported.
Former President Donald Trump Coming To Greensburg For Rally
GREENSBURG, Pa. – Former President Donald Trump is coming to Greensburg for a rally.
The rally is in support of celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz, who Trump has endorsed for the Republican U.S. Senate nomination in next month’s Pennsylvania primary.
Details on his website say the event is scheduled for May 6 at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds.
Trump endorsed Oz after his first endorsed candidate Sean Parnell dropped out of the race to fight for custody of his children in a divorce battle.

But Mr. Trump never referred to abortion, exemplifying how many Republican leaders have been quiet on the issue for fear of repercussions in the midterm elections. Dr. Oz mentioned the issue briefly, saying: Life starts at conception. Im a heart surgeon. I value it.
In his speech, Mr. Trump aired a fresh round of grievances about the 2020 election and taunts for his political enemies, directing several at Dr. Ozs chief rival in the Senate race, the former hedge fund executive David McCormick. Hes not MAGA, Mr. Trump said, referring to Mr. McCormick as a liberal Wall Street Republican.
The former presidents other targets included the actor Alec Baldwin Mitch McConnell, the Senate Republican leader and President Biden. Mr. Trump played a video of Mr. Bidens verbal miscues on several large screens.
Dr. Oz, 61, presented himself as an early accepter of medical therapies promoted by Mr. Trump for the treatment of Covid-19, several of which were discredited by medical authorities as lacking efficacy and fraught with potential risk.
Trump Returns To Pennsylvania
Former President Donald Trump will head to Wilkesbarre, Pennsylvania, this week to campaign for two MAGA-backed candidates: gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastraiano and Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Both candidates are struggling in the polls after a group of Pennsylvania GOP state officials endorsed Democratic gubernatorial candidate and the state’s attorney general Josh Shapiro out of concern that Mastriano’s views are too extreme.
Meanwhile, Oz has had a rough summer on the campaign trail, especially in the aftermath of a grocery shopping gaffe involving crudité. According to an August Franklin & Marshall poll, Fetterman is beating Oz 43% to 30% while Shapiro is ahead against Mastriano 44% to 33%.
Trump carried Pennsylvania in 2016 the first time a Republican won Pennsylvania in a presidential election since George Bush in 1988. But he lost the state to Biden in 2020. Trump’s MAGA movement will be tested in Pennsylvania as both Mastriano and Oz are seen as direct offshoots of the former president.

GREENSBURG, Pa.
Former President Donald Trump is coming to Greensburg next week for a rally at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds.
The “Save America” rally is set to kick off at 8 p.m. May 6. Gates will open at 3 p.m.
Trump will deliver remarks in support of Mehmet Oz “and other endorsed candidates,” according to a statement from the Oz campaign.
The former president recently endorsed Oz in Pennsylvania’s crowded Republican Senate primary, ending months of jockeying for his support.
Oz had been competing for Trump’s endorsement in the May 17 primary against former hedge fund CEO David McCormick, whose wife, Dina Powell, served in Trump’s administration. The two had gone to extensive lengths to win over the former president, who remains deeply popular with the Republican base and has been wooed by candidates in primary races across the country.
In the GOP gubernatorial primary, Bill McSwain, who spent nearly three years as the top federal prosecutor in Philadelphia under Trump, had been seeking Trumps endorsement. McSwain has called the presidential election in Pennsylvania a partisan disgrace as he sought to curry favor with the former president, and often touted his connection to Trump while campaigning for the GOP nod in a crowded primary field.

PHILADELPHIA Pennsylvania once stocked D.C. with a steady stream of establishment Republicans. Now, in the wake of Donald Trumps reelection defeat, its better known for its GOP hard-liners among them, Scott Perry, the congressman who recently made headlines for his behind-the-scenes efforts to assist Trumps efforts to overturn the 2020 election resultsin Georgia.
GOP state legislative leaders called on Republican congressional members to object to the Electoral College results or delay their certification. Every House Republican in Pennsylvanias congressional delegation, save one, obliged, voting to invalidate their states Electoral College votes.
State Sen. Doug Mastriano, a potential gubernatorial candidate in 2022, traveled to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 and even advertised a bus to take protesters there. In the weeks after the deadly riot, a right-wing state representative, Daryl Metcalfe, that the FBI called his office asking about the day of the insurrection and referred to the agencys tip line as a snitch line.
Georgia Voters Face Final Day Of Early Voting As Kemp Maintains Strong Lead Over Purdue
Trump has recruited or endorsed candidates challenging them all. Yet even his own political operation has grown impatient with David Perdue, the former senator whom Trump recruited to take on Kemp. Trump advisers have told Perdues campaign theyd like to see him devote more energy to the race, said a person close to Trump who was not authorized to speak on the record.
Trump remains the most popular figure in the GOP and his endorsement is campaign gold for Republican candidates. But his endorsements nationwide have triggered a backlash from local Republican leaders in Ohio, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Georgia, where they feel as if Trumps picks were haphazard, reckless or harmful to the partys broader electoral objectives and even Trumps long-term interests.
Republican voters in Idaho and Nebraska also bucked Trumps picks in their respective gubernatorial contests Tuesday and on May 10.
He endorsed candidates with no appeal to conservatives or candidates who arent qualified. It erodes his credibility to a degree, said former Georgia state Rep. Scot Turner, a Republican.
Turner noted Trumps pick for Georgia attorney general, John Gordon, wasnt a practicing lawyer for years and reactivated his law license in 2021 to take part in a failed lawsuit baselessly alleging election fraud. Turner also questioned the conservative bonafides of Trumps pick in a Georgia congressional race, Vernon Jones, a former Democrat.

Trump in Biden’s Scranton backyard on Labor Day weekend
Former President Donald Trump announced an upcoming rally in northeastern Pennsylvania in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area to take place over Labor Day weekend.
The event is being billed as a rally to support the entire Trump ticket in the state including Dr. Ozs U.S. Senate campaign and the campaign of Doug Mastriano, candidate for Pennsylvania Governor.

The timing and location of the rally, however, will fuel rampant speculation that Trump could be planning to announce a 2024 Presidential campaign over the Labor Day holiday weekend.
The location, specifically in President Bidens backyard of Scranton, also would serve as a great backdrop to contrast Trumps America First policies with those of the failed Biden administration.
As reported days ago, Trump has been mulling when to launch a 2024 presidential campaign with an eye leaning toward sometime near or after Labor Day in September.
After the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago, the chorus for Trump to strike sooner rather than later became deafening among his inner circle urging him to speed up the timeline on a potential 2024 announcement:
Trump has previously said that a 2024 presidential announcement, in his mind, is a matter of when rather than if.

Doug Mastriano Is Testing Whether The Base Of Support That Prevailed For Him In A Fractured Primary Can Win In November
ROCHESTER, Pa. A giant American flag dangled from a truck-mounted boom lift in a grassy lot here,about 25 miles outside Pittsburgh. Inside a weathered Grange hall, the ceiling fans spunfuriously as a few hundred people packed in to hear the Republican nominee for governor, state senator Doug Mastriano. The crowd ranged from families with young kids to solo seniors, and many came sporting the latest right-wing swag: Trump 2024 hats, T-shirts with the slogans Impeach Bidenand Baby Lives Matter, and one with the logo of the Three Percenters militia group.
Mastriano was introduced by activists demanding an audit of the 2020 election, circulating ballot petitions to ban electronic voting machines in their counties and describing the search warrant at Trumps Florida Mar-a-Lago Club for classified documents as the onset of totalitarianism. The candidate himself drew some of his loudest cheers and applause for recounting his leading role in trying to reject the election results in Pennsylvania and promising to use his powers as governor to change the states voting procedures.
The Democrats talk about how everything they dont like reminds them of some dictator from the 30s, or everything they dont like is a danger to democracy, Mastriano said with a scoff. Were a constitutional republic.

The head of Israeli intelligence will travel to Washington in the coming days as the U.S. inches closer to an Iran nuclear agreement.
Tehran has been holding ongoing discussions with the U.S. and European Union about reentering a nuclear disarmament deal. The U.S. pulled out of the deal in 2018, citing that Iran did not follow the terms of the agreement.
Mossad chief David Barnea is expected to brief congressional intelligence officials and other administration officials about concerns over the deal in closed-door meetings. Barnea’s visit comes after Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz went to U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Florida, last week to meet with U.S. military officials.

Artemis I Mission Launch Delayed
Early on Monday, NASA announced it has postponed the launch of Artemis I due to an engine issue. The rocket is supposed to go on a 42-day mission beyond the moon and return to earth.
CNN reported that the next available window for the Artemis I to blast off would be September 2. However, it’s unclear whether NASA will aim for that date.
Vice President Kamala Harris was expected to attend the high-profile launch, which NASA hoped would usher in a new era of U.S. space exploration. Many scientists described the mission as a gateway to sending humans to Mars. It also aims to put the U.S. on a trajectory to send the first female and person of color to the moon in 2025, Smithsonian magazine reported.
The delayed mission comes at a time in which geopolitics has quickly transformed galactic politics after Russia announced that it plans to pull out of the International Space Station in 2024.

Trump Reportedly Said Oz’s Campaign Strategy ‘doesn’t Make Sense’
According to another source, Trump has also wondered if he should withheld his endorsement of Oz, per Rolling Stone.
Trump backed Oz over several other candidates who sought his support, including former hedge fund chief executive David McCormick.
“The president has used words like ‘lousy,’ and ‘awful,’ and ‘doesn’t make sense’ to describe how Dr. Oz has been campaigning against John Fetterman over the summer,” another source told Rolling Stone. “Weeks ago is when first started asking me and other people, ‘Is he going to fucking lose?’ I am positive that I’m not the only one to tell him that he probably will, if something big doesn’t change.”
On Friday, Trump announced he would travel to Pennsylvania on Sept. 3 to stump for Oz alongside Republican gubernatorial nominee Doug Mastriano, who has also been behind in the polls against his Democratic challenger, two-term state Attorney General Josh Shapiro.
Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich in a Friday statement refuted the Rolling Stone report, calling it “fake news.”
“Dr. Oz has been on the campaign trail championing the America First agenda and working to earn the support of every Pennsylvanian. In contrast, John Fetterman continues to advocate for the radical policies that are destroying America,” he said.
The Senate contest is an open-seat race due to the forthcoming retirement of two-term GOP Sen. Pat Toomey it remains by far the most promising pickup opportunity for Democrats this year.
Trump To Rally Support For Oz Mastriano In Pennsylvania
Former President Trump will be headed back to Pennsylvania in September to hold a rally in support of gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano and Senate hopeful Mehmet Oz several months ahead of the midterms.
An advisory through Trumps Save America PAC said Trump would hold a rally with Mastriano and Oz on Sept. 3 in eastern Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The advisory came at the same time that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held an event organized by Turning Point Action in Pittsburgh in support of Mastriano.
Trump was last in the state to boost his endorsed candidates, including Oz, in May.
The rally announcement comes amid questions about the viability of a slew of Republican incumbents and candidates running for Senate, some of whom posted lower fundraising hauls than their Democratic counterparts in the last quarter.
Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, who is running against Oz, has produced a viral social media campaign that has sought to depict Oz as a carpetbagger from New Jersey who is out of touch with Pennsylvanians. That effort has included videos using big New Jersey names like former Jersey Shore cast member Nicole Snooki LaValle and musician Steven Van Zandt.
It has also included fundraising more than half a million dollars off a video made in April which showed Oz going grocery shopping while mispronouncing the name of the grocery store.
