Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn
As part of the plea, Flynn admitted that he lied to federal agents about his conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Further reports indicate he was in contact with senior members of the Trump transition team at the time of the contacts with Kislyak:
In January, a Washington Post report indicated Flynn jumped on the phone several times with Ambassador Kislyak the same day that the Obama administration announced new sanctions following its determination that Russia had intervened in the 2016 presidential election.

Flynn told others in the Trump administration, particularly Vice President Mike Pence, that he did not discuss rolling back the sanctions once the White House changed hands. Pence then defended Flynn publicly. But a deluge of reports in February indicated that not only did he mislead Pence, but Acting Attorney General Sally Yates and a career national security official warned the Trump administration in January that he had done soand that his decision had left him vulnerable to Russian blackmail. Classified Email On Unclassified Systems
In November 2019, the Daily Beast reported on emails obtained by American Oversight that show former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley had sent multiple emails containing classified information over an unclassified system because she had lost her password for such protected communications. Those emails, sent shortly after a July 2017 North Korean missile test, contained a number of redactions indicating that the content of fell under the Freedom of Information Acts classified national defense exemption.
Since the 2016 campaigns relentless focus on Clintons email practices seemingly did little to instill Trump appointees with a sense of the importance of their legal obligations or with the recognition that they are not above the law American Oversight is continuing to investigate the Trump administrations record-keeping practices and personal email use.
Current And Former Trump Officials Privately Reach Out To President
Current and former Trump administration officials have privately reached out to President-elect Joe Bidens transition team even as President Donald Trump continues to refuse defeat and falsely claim victory, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Two Biden transition officials said Wednesday that it was only a few current and former Trump administration officials, and they described it as not a big deal. However, it suggests there are people in Trumps orbit who believe Biden will be the next president even if Trump refuses to concede and his legal team mounts meritless lawsuits to challenge the results in several states.
The news was first reported by CNN.
The officials stressed that the outreach is not in any way a replacement for the national security and Covid-19 briefings the Trump administration refuses to provide Bidens teams.
Trumps refusal to concede has delayed the General Services Administration from certifying Bidens transition, creating a delay that has blocked Bidens team from starting the orderly process of taking over the expansive federal bureaucracy.
Kate Bedingfield, a spokesperson for the Biden transition team, said in a statement Wednesday that despite the outreach, the GSA still needs to certify the transition.
During a virtual town hall with front-line health care workers Wednesday, Biden said the lack of briefings could put his administration behind in distributing vaccines.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions
The Washington Postreported that then-Senator Jeff Sessions spoke with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak on two separate occasions last year while he was serving as a surrogate for Donald Trump’s campaign. That includes a meeting at his Senate offices in September, “at the height of what U.S. intelligence officials say was a Russian cyber campaign to upend the U.S. presidential race.” Sessions specifically said in his nomination hearings before the Senate that he “did not have communications with the Russians” during the campaign:
Officials at the Department of Justice told the Post that Sessions took the September meeting in his capacity as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Sessions also spoke with Kislyak in July at a Heritage Foundation event that ran parallel to the Republican National Convention.
Sessions and his spokesperson each denied there was anything untoward about the meetings, or about his statement to the Senate. But ultimately, Sessions recused himself from the Justice Department’s Russia probe in a move that, along with FBI Director James Comey’s firing, led to the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. In the time since, it has emerged Sessions also misrepresented what he knew about contacts between Trump campaign officials and Kremlin-connected figures. Campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos said at a meeting both Sessions and Trump attended that he was in contact with Russian officials.

Transition Period Inauguration And First 100 Days
Trump was inaugurated on January 20, 2017. He was sworn in by Chief JusticeJohn Roberts. In his seventeen-minute inaugural address, Trump painted a dark picture of contemporary America, pledging to end “American carnage” caused by urban crime and saying America’s “wealth, strength, and confidence has dissipated” by jobs lost overseas. He declared his strategy would be “America First.” The largest single-day protest in U.S. history, the Women’s March, took place the day after his inauguration and was driven by opposition to Trump and his policies and views.

After 22 months of investigation, Special Counsel Robert Mueller submitted his report to the Justice Department on March 22, 2019. The investigation “did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities”.

The latest challenge to Donald Trump’s administration regards potential ties to Russia members of his staff have had over the last couple years.

Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials.”
So what happens if more members of the Trump administration are indicted for illicit interactions with Russia?

Trumps solution is to move homeless people to tent cities on the outskirts of metropolitan areas, staffed with medical professionals and built to house hundreds of thousands or even millions of people.
The only way youre going to remove the homeless encampments and reclaim our downtowns is to open up large parcels, large tracts, of relatively inexpensive land on the outer skirts of the various cities and bring in medical professionals, psychiatrists, psychologists and drug rehab specialists and create tent cities, Trump said on Aug. 6 at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Dallas. You dont have time to build buildings, you can do that later, but you have to get the people off the street. We have to bring back, we have to reclaim our cities.
In a July speech in Washington, Trump acknowledged that the idea would be controversial but argued it would be an improvement. Now, some people say, Oh, thats so horrible no, whats horrible is whats happening now, he said.
Trumps Washington speech happened to coincide with the alliances conference, setting off a ripple of concern among the 1,300 attendees and leading the groups chief executive, Ann Oliva, to address it from the stage.

What The Russians Say
In November, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview with Russia’s Interfax news agency that Russian government officials had been in contact with members of Trump’s campaign team during the election. “Obviously, we know most of the people from his entourage,” Ryabkov added. The Washington Postpicked up the comments, along with Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks’ subsequent denial that any contact had been made prior to November 8.
