What Is Donald Trump’s Latest Approval Rating

Polling Average Put Bidens Approval Rating Higher Than 39%

President Donald Trump’s Approval Ratings Hit New Low: Bottom Line | CNBC

Experts say approval ratings should be calculated by looking at an average between polls not a single poll. On the day the claim was made, the polling average for Bidens approval rating was 45.2%.

The best practice to look at multiple polls and not to fixate on an individual poll, which can be cherry-picked to make inaccurate arguments,Barry Burden, director of the Elections Research Center and professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, said in an email.

The website FiveThirtyEight rates how different polls vary in terms of accuracy and statistical bias. It calculates approval ratings for presidents based on a weighted average that takes into account poll quality and uncertainty.

According to that polling average, Bidens approval rate was 45.2% on the day the claim was posted.

The Facebook post appeared to refer to an Economist/YouGov poll conducted Sept. 4-7. It reported 39% of American adults approved of Biden. YouGov noted this was the first time the majority of Americans disapproved of Biden during his presidency.

However, Burden told USA TODAY this poll was unusually low.

Trump Gets His Best Rating Ever On Guns Its Still Bad

Trump has generally dragged his feet when it comes to gun control. You might expect that to hurt him, given that Americans are in favor of stricter gun laws. Indeed, his approval rating on gun policy in our latest poll is only 38%.

Yet that 38% is actually the highest its ever been. Its a statistically insignificantly higher than the 36% it was last month and 5 points higher than he was at the beginning of the year.

I find that notable because gun control and Trumps mostly inaction on it has been in the news a lot recently, after mass shootings in Texas and Ohio. Despite that, his approval rating on the issue isnt going down.

Moreover, gun policy is the only issue on which Trumps approval actually went up over the last month.

While I wouldnt put too much on this, I do think its notable. It suggests perhaps that gun control isnt the driver of public opinion perhaps some Democrats hope it is heading into 2020.

The Wall Street Journal reports more than 100 actors, writers and producers are protesting NBCs decision, and senior NBCUniversal executivesNBCUniversal News Group chairman Cesar Conde and NBCU chief executive Brian Roberts said the decision to give Mr. Trump such a platform after his refusal to debate Mr. Biden is enabling the presidents bad behavior while undercutting the Presidential Debate Commission and doing a disservice to the American public.

On Twitter, where BoycottNBC was trending through the day Thursday, many expressed disappointment and surprise that NBC would have agreed to host the town hall directly opposite ABCs:

President Trumps job approval rating soared to its highest point since he entered the White House in 2017, according to a poll that was conducted amid the Senate impeachment trial.

It found that 49 percent of registered voters approve of the job the president is doing, while 50 percent disapprove and only 1 percent are undecided, the Gallup poll released Tuesday showed.

Trumps previous job-approval high was 46 percent in April 2019.

Among Republicans, Trumps approval rating hit 94 percent a 6-point increase from Gallups results early last month.

Independents gave Trump a 42 percent approval rating, up 5 points.

Democrats approval of the president fell to 7 percent from 10 percent.

The 87-point gap between Democrats and Republicans surpassed the highest rate for both Trump and former President Barack Obama by one point.

Obama hit that milestone in November 2012.

Trump achieved the 86-point differential level five times since taking office.

Voters were evenly split 50-50 on whether Trump deserves to be re-elected in November.

The Gallup poll was conducted between Jan. 16-29, as the Senate was debating the two impeachment articles against the president.

The House impeached the president on Dec. 18 over his July phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelesnky in which he sought an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden.

Following a two-week trial in the Republican-controlled Senate, Trump is expected to be acquitted in a vote Wednesday afternoon.

Us President Joe Biden’s Approval Rating Tumble And Go Down Below What Former Us Prez Donald Trump Ever Managed To Achieve

Facing heat from several quarters, US President Joe Biden’s popularity has dipped spectacularly. Now, his approval ratings have taken a tumble as well. Reportedly, Biden’s current approval ratings fare lower than what his infamous predecessor, Donald Trump, ever managed to achieve during his four tumultuous years in the office, where he was impeached twice.

The poll conducted by CNN shows that Biden’s approval rating stood at 38 per cent while 62 per cent disapproved of his presidentship. On the economic front, Biden has an approval rating of only 30 per cent. The figures become grim when one notes that Trump’s lowest economic approval rating was 41 per cent which came way back in 2018.

Moreover, ahead of the midterms, the swing states haven’t been kind to Biden either. His net approval ratings in Ohio , Arizona , Wisconsin and Pennsylvania paint a grim picture and suggest that the battle may be uphill.

Democrats starting to lose confidence

While the palpable public anger is understandable, it appears that Biden is also losing the confidence of his colleagues. Reportedly, the President’s approval rating for the handling of the economy has dwindled from 71 per cent, earlier this year to 62 per cent amongst the Democrats in the recent survey.

Trump Will Leave Office With His Lowest Approval Rating Ever

Trump’s approval rating drops 6 points in new poll l ABCNews

By Annie Karni

Throughout four years of scandals and investigations, President Trump has maintained an approval rating that rarely budged from a 10-point band between 35 and 45 percent. Nothing he could say, do or tweet appeared to dramatically change public opinion of him.

But the events of Jan. 6 when a violent mob of Trump supporters incited by the president stormed the Capitol appear to have damaged him in his final days in office in a way that finally moved the needle.

Mr. Trump is set to depart office on Wednesday with an approval rating of 29 percent, the lowest of his presidency, according to a new poll from the Pew Research Center.

About 75 percent of the public said Mr. Trump bore some responsibility for the violence and destruction of Jan. 6, which put the lives of the vice president and members of Congress at risk and resulted in five deaths, according to the survey.

And his behavior since the election a period during which he has repeatedly tried to contest his loss, relied on conspiracy theorists for advice, encouraged supporters who do not view President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. as legitimate, and refused to concede has cost Mr. Trump support even with those individuals who have loyally supported him up until now.

According to Pew, the share of his supporters who described his conduct as poor has doubled, to 20 percent from 10 percent, over the past two months.

Trump Approval Rating By State 2022

The presidential job approval ratings in the U.S. were introduced in the late 1930s by George Gallup to gauge public support for the president during their term. Approval ratings are determined by polling given to a sample of people.

Like most surveys, poll results may be inaccurate due to samples that self-select. However, statisticians generally accept the approval rating as a factual indicator of the peoples feelings about the president.

As of April 2020, President Trumps approval rate is 46.0% and his disapproval is at 49.6%.

Approval Ratings By State

Approval ratings vary greatly by state and can indicate how a state will vote in the upcoming 2020 Presidential Election. Since his inauguration in January 2017, President Trumps net approval has decreased in every state. President Trumps approval rating is decreasing in important states that he won in his 2016 election, including swing states and states that are consistently Republican in every election. The three key states Trump had in his 2016 election are Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, all of which currently have approval ratings under 50%.

Below are each states approval ratings for President Trump as of February 2020. Data is from a poll by the Morning Consult.

  • Net approval since Trump took office has decreased by 22 percentage points

Nyc Democratic House Candidate Announces Positive Covid

    Ben Kamisar

WASHINGTON New York City Democratic House candidate Suraj Patel has tested positive for COVID-19, he confirmed in a new statement Monday.

Patel, one of the candidates featured in a recent MTP Blog story about how the new social distancing guidelines and the threat of coronavirus has fundamentally upended House campaigns, disclosed his positive test in a new statement posted on social media and on the blogging platform Medium.

He said he began developing symptoms earlier this month which he described as troubling tightness in my chest and difficulty breathing followed by a regular fever of 102 degrees. Patel lives with two doctors, one of whom is his brother, which he said underscored the need for him to test to see if had COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus, so that his roommates would know whether they were at risk.

Patel said that ultimately, he and his two housemates all tested positive. But hes now fully recovered and asymptomatic.

New Yorkers and Americans at large are stepping up in a tremendous unified way. We know how important it is to our most vulnerable populations that we slow the growth of this COVID epidemic. But as this becomes less abstract and more personal when peoples loved ones start to show symptoms human nature is such that we are going to want certainty and safety, Patel wrote, before calling for universal COVID testing.

Patel is running in the Democratic primary against longtime Rep. Carolyn Maloney.

The Claim: President Joe Bidens Approval Rating Is 39% And Lower Than Donald Trumps Ever Was

After the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in August, President Joe Biden’s approval ratings took a hit. But some online posts exaggerate the depth of the drop.

Text in reads, “Joe Biden’s approval falls to 39 percent, worse than Trump’s approval ever.” The post did not indicate which poll it’s referring to.

A similar post accumulated 46,000 likes in six days before it was deleted. Other claims in this vein have racked up hundreds of interactions on Facebook and Instagram, according to CrowdTangle, a social media insights tool.

The claim is misleading. While one poll did put Bidens approval rating at 39%, the polling average a more accurate measure of a president’s popularity put it higher. Experts say Biden’s approval rating, the lowest since he took office, is still higher than Trumps term low.

USA TODAY reached out to several social media users who shared the claim for comment.
