Sedensky points out that Trumps is a brand of presidential oratory not previously recorded different from what the public come to expect.
Now, is this deliberate and strategic, or are Trumps explosive noun phrases, self-interruptions, departures from the theme, flashes of memory and side remarks symptomatic of a person with a concentration problem?
Lets look at six of the linguistic devices commonly used in Trumpian speech: hyperbole, repetition and intensifiers directness sentence fragments digressions and segues grade level and sales talk.

Of course, when we mistreat other people, it doesnt only hurt them. It hurts us as it weakens our character. I dont know how much of my answers will even make sense to my daughter. But I tell her in hopes that as she gets older, she will think twice before criticizing others to inflate her own ego.

Adults Are Not Always Right And Our Kids Need To Know That
If Donald Trump is going to be good for anything, perhaps its this. Hes a great cautionary tale. Many children grow up under the instruction to always mind their elders and do what they say because theyre in charge.
It might be the greatest disservice we can give our kids, this notion that adults are always right. Such a teaching stunts personal development in adulthood, and it also puts our children in danger of abuse.
Our kids need to know that not every grownup has their best interests in mind. To suggest otherwise is negligent, and Trumps association with numerous sexual assault allegations and racism shouldnt go ignored when we discuss injustice or the Presidency.
The office of President used to be held in high regard. Our kids deserve to know how and why that changed. They deserve to know that all leaders arent created equal in terms of honesty or kindness.

President Trump often complained about the deep state of career civil servants who, he asserted, were determined to undermine his presidency. He promised to drain the swamp, and his aide Steve Bannon predicted the deconstruction of the administrative state.
But it was his own presidential appointees who most visibly resisted his directives. Political appointees are expected to be the most loyal advocates of a presidents policy agenda, riding herd on the many bureaucracies of the executive branch. Yet Trumps appointees in the White House, cabinet, military, and intelligence community refused to carry out many of the presidents directives to an extent unprecedented in the modern presidency. President Trumps appointees went well beyond the normal disagreements about policy that are typical in every administration they resorted to slow walking orders, refusing to comply with directives, and even outright sabotage. Leadership is central to the presidency. The resistance to President Trump by his highest level officials illustrates how his own appointees judged his leadership.
In August 2017, Trump wanted to fulfill a campaign promise to withdraw from the U.S. free trade agreement with South Korea, and a letter was prepared to that effect. Cohn thought that if Trump saw the letter, he would sign it so Cohn quietly removed it from Trumps desk. Eventually Secretary of Defense James Mattis talked the president out of abandoning the agreement.
