They View Violence As Cleansing
What Does This Mean? This is one of the most distressing parts of fascist ideology, and the primary reason why it’s a very good idea not to throw it around too easily. Many fascist thinkers viewed violence, war, and brutality as something extremely good for the human soul. Not as something to be done if necessary, or an expedient for the sake of a bigger good: something awesome in its own right. “Fascist paramilitary leaders,” World Fascism: A Historical Encyclopedia explains, “claimed that violence could cleanse, purify, or regenerate the people and the national mentality.” Violence is part of the mythos of fascism, and is what can lead to the “cleansing” of anything or anybody that was perceived to violate the purifying and regenerating of the state. That could be political opponents, the weak, or those distinguished along racial or religious lines. In Fascist Italy, the artistic movement of the Futurists embraced the idea of war in its core principles: it declared that war was “the world’s only hygiene.”
Trumps Refusal To Rent To African
Listening to Mae Wiggins as she recounts her experience with the Trump Management Corporation in the early 1970s speaks volumes to his character. You see, Wiggins and her friend submitted an application for a Trump-owned apartment in Queens. The two were quickly denied on account of no vacancy. Once Wiggins realized vacancies did exist, Trumps organization was reported to the U.S. Department of Justice.
During the investigation, a white couple was sent undercover to check for a vacancy, at which point they were offered an apartment. Trump and his organization were sued for discriminating against black tenants and applicants.

Support Of Stephen Miller
The Trump administration has included several officials with ties to white nationalism. In November 2019, emails promoting white supremacist views sent by senior White House advisor Stephen Miller were made public. Despite widespread calls for his resignation , Trump continued to support Miller and did not condemn his advocacy of white supremacy.

The Politically Motivated Ingrates Of Puerto Rico
Lets face it, Puerto Rico has been dealt a very poor hand in the aftermath of the 2017 hurricane season . And when it came time for the Trump Administration to spring into action, they dropped the ball. Inevitably, Trump mozied down to Puerto Rico, made an appearance, then called the Puerto Rican people politically motivated ingrates when his administration was scrutinized for its lack of assistance.

Support For Confederate Symbols
In the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd, numerous Confederate monuments and symbols were removed across the country due to their association with slavery and racism. In June 2020, Trump personally requested Interior Secretary David Bernhardt to restore a statue of Confederate General Albert Pike that had been taken down by protesters in Washington, D.C. Also in June, the US Army proposed discussions on the renaming of military bases that have been named after Confederate Army generals. Many people and organizations such as the NAACP have suggested renaming the bases after military heroes of color. Trump responded with a tweet stating that “my Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations.” On June 30, Trump threatened to veto the National Defense Authorization Act due to a provision requiring renaming of bases named for Confederate commanders and the removal of Confederate symbols from all U.S. defense facilities. On July 6, he criticized NASCAR‘s decision to ban the Confederate flag from its events. When asked whether he thought the Confederate flag was offensive, Trump replied, “When people proudly hang their Confederate flags, they’re not talking about racism. They love their flag, it represents the South.”

The Original ‘welfare Queen’
Since the 1960s, lots of presidents have played to the racial backlash in the United States. Richard Nixon ran a whole campaign in 1968 about “law and order,” which was basically a coded way to talk about, in his perspective, what radical civil rights organizations were doing to the health of the country. In the 1980s, Ronald Reagan constantly spoke about “welfare queens” and characterized poverty as an African American issue and was criticized rightly for using that kind of rhetoric and tapping into this kind of anger and anxiety in white America.
But Donald Trump just says it out loud he’s very direct. And I’m not surprised when I hear it, because I think this has been a much bigger part of Republican politics than people have acknowledged. And I’m not surprised, because he’s been doing this since he first ran.
When we were telling you about this episode, you told us that in comparing presidents to Trump, we should really be looking at post-bellum presidents not presidents from the Civil War to the beginning of the nation. Why is that?

On September 11, 2017, Jemele Hill tweeted, Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounding himself w/ other white supremacists. And, even though the 99-character pronouncement came a few weeks after Trump referred to a group of white nationalist protesters as very fine people, pearls were firmly clutched. A vocal faction of conservatives, including the president and his then-press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, called on ESPN to fire Hill. They publicly censured her instead, calling Hills actions inappropriate and strong-arming the SC6 co-host into issuing a half-hearted apology to the Worldwide Leader.
Five monthsand one tweet criticizing Cowboys owner Jerry Joneslater, and she was out at SportsCenter, relegated to a less front-facing role at The Undefeated, the companys website covering sports and race eight months after that, Hill was out at ESPN completely after 12 years of service.

The 73701667 Voters Question
How can 59,054,087 people be so dumb? The question a British tabloid asked on its front page when delivering the news of George W Bushs re-election in 2004 is perhaps one of the most memorable phrases in the contemporary history of US presidential elections.
The world had witnessed Bushs invasion and occupation of first Afghanistan in 2001, and then Iraq in 2003. It had seen what kind of a man he was and how much damage he could inflict on humanity at large. Still, Americans had re-elected him as their president. So the British tabloids question was brutish and rude , but it was also legitimate.
And the questions persist in 2020. As of November 21, 73,781,603 people voted for Trump, which amounts to 47.2 percent of the total votes counted. The same statistics tell us 79,816,557 Americans voted for Biden, which is about 51.1 percent of the total votes counted.
These are not bad numbers a majority of American people, especially Black people and other marginalised communities at the mercy of this countrys historic, systemic and incurable racism, voted Donald Trump out of office. There is much reason to celebrate that fact. But there is much reason for soul searching too.
Do not be fooled by these blue and red states. There is red inside every blue state, and blue inside every red state. There is no separate country somewhere between Ohio and Idaho, North Dakota and Texas to give to Republicans while the Democrats live their bicoastal lives in peace.
Trump Is Pat Buchanan With Better Timing
Isenberg: Well, again, I would say because we donât like to talk about class. We like to talk about upward mobility, even though thereâs been more downward mobility than upward mobility. Itâs embodied in what Charles Murray wrote in Coming Apart, that thereâs a national conceit that has prevailed from the beginning of the nation that America didnât have classes or, to the extent that it did, Americans should act like we didnât. Well, of course we had a class system. We inherited the class ideas from Great Britain. Weâve only had a stable middle class in this country historically since post-World War II, when the federal government made that possible with, you know, insuring mortgages for homes and businesses, the G.I. Bill that made it possible to achieve for some but, again, not for all. I mean, this is why I talk about the rise of trailer homes and trailer poverty at the same time the suburban dream is being put into place. And thatâs why I think the media is caught off guard, because this is not what politicians want to talk about.
Case: Why did this happen now? I think in part because growth has been very, very slow. First there was the Great Recession and, following the Great Recession, there is slow growth and very slow wage growth. And I think when things start to look like a zero-sum game, then people also start to get incredibly anxious about who has got what.

Bad Hombres And Rapists
Trump has repeatedly called Mexican men “bad hombres” and “rapists”. While campaigning in 2015 he made multiple false assertions that the Mexican government was sending their most unwanted people to the U.S. “When Mexico sends their people… They’re bringing drugs. Theyâre bringing crime. Theyâre rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” In 2017, the Associated Press reported that during a phone call to Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto Trump warned the Mexican president that his military was not doing enough to stop “a bunch of bad hombres down there” and threatened to send U.S. troops into Mexico to “take care of it.” Following the 2020 murder of George Floyd, some protesters used the slogan “Defund the police“, supporting divesting some funds from police departments and reallocating them to non-policing forms of public safety and community support. Trump addressed this issue when speaking at a campaign rally in late June 2020, saying: “It’s 1 o’clock in the morning and a very toughâyou know I’ve used the word on occasion, ‘hombre’âa very tough ‘hombre’ is breaking into the window of a young woman whose husband is away as a traveling salesman or whatever he may do. And you call 911 and they say, ‘I’m sorry, this number is no longer working.'” After Trump posted a video that included his “bad hombres” comments on his Twitch channel, the livestreaming platform suspended his account due to “hateful conduct.”

7.Don’t offer details, just generalities
If you stick with the game of THE GREAT LEADER you are not required to offer details, just generalities. He will fix everything, he promises, you have to believe him. His view is that details and generalities are an after-thought, only used by those who lack flexibility in leadership. He doesnt want to be tied down to a plan. He makes it up as he goes along. This keeps the focus on the emotional appeals of fear, humiliation, the enemy that threatens us, and the weakness and incompetence of all around him.
Lets watch Trump over the next two months and see how his propaganda campaign plays out. Keep in mind that this is a man who measures people by how much money they have—-he repeatedly tells us he has 10 Billion dollars. That means that all of us are losers. This is the man who views Mexican immigrants as murderers and rapists even though an article in the Wall Street Journal indicates that immigrants have lower rates of incarceration.
When people are anxious and afraid they turn to someone who promises certainty, solutions, and strength. This is a dangerous time to choose leaders who play to these emotional concerns.

Nfl National Anthem Protests
In August 2016 Colin Kaepernick, an NFLquarterback, began sitting during the playing of the U.S. national anthem before games as a protest of police brutality and racial inequality suffered by Black Americans. Then-candidate Trump entered into the debate within days, stating of Kaepernick, “I think it’s personally not a good thing, I think it’s a terrible thing. And, you know, maybe he should find a country that works better for him. Let him try, it won’t happen.”
In June 2018 Trump dis-invited the Super Bowl ChampionPhiladelphia Eagles from their White House visit after finding that only a minority of the players were planning on attending due to their general disagreement with Trump’s policies. Trump claimed that the players’ motivation for not coming was his insistence on standing during the anthem, a claim that was refuted by several Eagles players, as in fact none of the players on that team had knelt during that season. Commentators noted that Trump’s redirection of the issue towards the anthem controversy was an attempt to play on social and racial issues in order to fire up his base and have connected it to his public criticisms of Black NBA players, Black UCLA basketball players, and a Black anchor on ESPN.

Rolling Back Civil Rights Protections
In January 2021, the Trump administration’s Justice Department sought approval to end enforcement of the Civil Rights Act in cases of “disparate impact” on minorities. Not being able to use disparate impact analysis would result in less accountability for organizations with policies that result in racially disparate outcomes, such as discipline for students of color, and treatment of residents of color by their city’s police force.
