‘he Would Have A Target On His Back’
Security experts don’t expect Trump would be tossed into the fray with other prisoners.
“He would certainly not be part of the general population,” said Ken Gray, a retired FBI special agent who served 24 years in the bureau.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, which is part of the Department of Justice, and the Secret Service, which is part of the Department of Homeland Security, would almost certainly need to work together to coordinate Trump’s protection, Gray said.
Exactly where a federally convicted president would land would be at the discretion of a judge, with some input from the Bureau of Prisons, another former Secret Service agent told Insider.
The Otisville security camp outside of New York City is an example of where some high-profile convicts ask to serve their time. It made a Forbes list of “America’s 10 Cushiest Prisons” in 2009. The famous Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff asked to be sent there, but he was assigned by the Bureau of Prisons to North Carolina instead. Michael Cohen started serving his 3-year prison sentence at Otisville too, but the former Trump lawyer got released to home confinement last spring due to concerns about the coronavirus.
A bit closer to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club, there’s a minimum-security federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida. That prison also made Forbes’ list of the cushiest locales.
“Trump he would have a target on his back,” said Deitch.
Sharing Of Violent Far
Trump has been criticized for his practice of retweeting or copying material from social media accounts posting antisemitic, racist, or false information, such as claims exaggerating the number of crimes committed by black people.
PolitiFact singled out as particularly obviously false an image retweeted by Trump that claimed that 81 percent of white murder victims are killed by black people. Politifact noted that, besides being a five-fold exaggeration, the claim was sourced to the non-existent “Crime Statistics Bureau, San Francisco” it later highlighted this retweet when awarding its 2015 “Lie of the Year” badge to Trump’s entire presidential campaign. The fake statistics were first posted by a neo-Nazi Twitter account.
CNN wrestling video
The clip appeared on pro-Trump subreddit, r/The Donald, about four days earlier, and was created by a Reddit account which had previously posted racist, antisemitic and bigoted content. A White House official later denied that the video came from Reddit the official declined “to respond to questions about where the president obtained the clip.” As of December 20,2017, the tweet had been retweeted over 330,000 times, making it Trump’s most retweeted post.

Trump Can’t Even Figure Out Which Smartphone To Use
Senior Tech Editor, The Huffington Post
Donald Trump flip-flops even when it comes to his choice of smartphone.
The Republican presidential candidate called for a boycott on Apple products last week when the tech giant refused to unlock an iPhone connected to a terror investigation. He vowed only to use Samsung devices until Apple changes course, and urged his supporters not to give Apple any business. But a glance at his tweets Friday reveals that Trump — or someone on his campaign — is still using an Apple iPhone to dole out abuse.
The plot thickens: Trump also appears to be using an Android phone . Here he is elevating the discourse about rival candidate Ted Cruz:
A representative for Trump’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.
It’s likely that Trump doesn’t actually press the publish button on all of his own tweets, though he reportedly dictates all of them, at least. And it’s previously been reported that his personal device is a Samsung Galaxy phone.
Still, the man made a pretty blunt statement about iPhones last week: Don’t use them until Apple cooperates with the FBI. Apple certainly hasn’t done that yet, so what’s the deal?
While Trump flip-flops constantly, this situation actually offered him a chance to be consistent for once. The business mogul has railed against Apple before for failing to build a larger iPhone, because huger is always better:

What We Don’t Know
There are some caveats to keep in mind when assessing the data in the Trump Organization’s financial disclosure forms.
First, the data is unaudited, self-reported data, meaning that readers have to take the company’s word that it’s accurate.
Second, many of the numbers listed as “income” from certain assets seem, instead, to be the revenue from those businesses. This was confirmed when data from Trump’s tax returns were released by The New York Times showing that many of the businesses have been losing money, including some of the largest revenue producers, such as Trump National Doral golf resort.
That being the case, the financial numbers don’t show the amount of money that the former president actually took home as income. For example, in Trump’s 2017 disclosure, he listed his income for the Trump National Doral golf resort as $75 million, which matches the revenue number reported to Miami-Dade County. Net operating income for the resort for that year was dramatically smaller at $4.3 million.
Getting a clear picture of the former president’s businesses is further complicated by the fact that income and asset values are listed in very wide ranges. For example, Mar-a-Lago Club is listed as having a value of “over $50,000,000.” The Trump National Golf Club in Charlotte is listed as worth between $5 million and $25 million.
Mixing Business And Politics
Trump’s potential conflicts of interest were a prominent topic throughout his tenure from 2017 through 2020. As president, the enormous power he had at his command made it more important than ever to understand his long list of businesses and how they could intersect with his public role as president.
These conflicts of interest did not pose a legal problem for Trump. The president and vice president are explicitly exempt from ethics regulations concerning conflicts of interest.
There were other issues, though, such as the emoluments clause, which was written into the U.S. Constitution by the nation’s founders. The clause prohibits the president from accepting things of value from foreign governments.
Many critics say the emoluments clause applies to Trump in several respects. But none of the many legal cases alleging violations by the former president have been concluded, nor does it look like they will be in the near future.

A Military Program Has Created An Android
Among the privileges and cool stuff that come with being the president of the United States is a highly modified Boeing Black smartphone, an encrypted device certified to handle Top Secret data. The Defense Department Information Systems Agency, or DISA, developed the phone with help from Boeing and other partners, the phone goes with the office of the President. But is Donald Trump using it or his old and far less secure Android phone?
The DISA phone emerged from the agencys Mobility Classified Capability program. A fact sheet says the program uses commercial mobile devices and commercial mobile architecture components such as commercial virtual private networking. The sheet describes the phone as NSA-approved, and lists Top Secret communication capability as coming soon.
As of November 1, DISA had handed out at least two of the phones, to President Obama and to Cyber Command leader Adm. Mike Rogers, according to DISA chief Lt. Gen. Alan Lynn, who spoke at the Milcom conference in Baltimore. Lynn was initially coy when asked who helped DISA make the device: I dont want everyone to know whos making good stuff for me because theres a lot of partners. I dont want to just highlight one. Although Im sure the question might have come from that one. A moment later, he softened. Ill tell you who worked on the Top Secret one, Boeing did. Boeing Black is the device were working with.
He added that DISA was just now in the test phase of it.
Trump Got A New Secret Service
For 197,000 rubles you can get a gold-plated iPhone 7 bearing Trumps likeness, thanks to Russian-Italian smartphone customization company Caviar Phones.
Its still unclear what type of smartphone Trump is using as president, but the Times reported that he ditched the old Android in favor of a secure, encrypted device that was approved by the Secret Service.
It seems the days of Trump taking calls from random unknown numbers are over for the time being. Alongside the new phone, he also got a new number that only a few people know, a according to the Times. That should make his new aides happy, some of whom were blindsided when a reporter, outside adviser or officeseeker dialed the president-elect directly, the report noted.
Given that it was approved by the Secret Service, Trumps new phone probably cant send texts, take photos, or play music.

President Donald Trump uses a White House cellphone that isnt equipped with sophisticated security features designed to shield his communications, according to two senior administration officials a departure from the practice of his predecessors that potentially exposes him to hacking or surveillance.
The president, who relies on cellphones to reach his friends and millions of Twitter followers, has rebuffed staff efforts to strengthen security around his phone use, according to the administration officials.
The presidentusesat least two iPhones, according to one of the officials. The phones one capable only of making calls, the other equipped only with the Twitter app and preloaded with a handful of news sites are issued by White House Information Technology and the White House Communications Agency, an office staffed by military personnel that oversees White House telecommunications.
While aides have urged the president to swap out the Twitter phone on a monthly basis, Trump has resisted their entreaties, telling them it was too inconvenient, the same administration official said.
Trump campaigned in part on his denunciations of Hillary Clintons use of a private email server as secretary of state a system that made classified information vulnerable to hacking by hostile actors.

Deliberate Infection And Body Double Conspiracy Theories
Republican supporters â in some cases tweeting from verified accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers â have spread a baseless rumour that the president was somehow deliberately infected with Covid-19 at some point during last weekâs debate.
This goes well against the tide of early evidence showing that several top officials who have been infected, all attended a White House event announcing Mr Trumpâs supreme court nominee, held several days before the debate.
Meanwhile, the suggestion that Mr Trump tested positive earlier than was originally suggested has led to rumours that heâs more ill than doctors have let on â and even that his most recent public appearances were staged with a body double.
Tweets to this effect from accounts mostly supporting the Democratic Party accumulated thousands of retweets.

Bolton Says He Recalls Trump Using The Term Burner Phones
John Bolton, the former national security adviser in the Trump administration, told CBS News on Tuesday that he had heard former President Donald Trump use the phrase “burner phones” in several discussions and the former president knew what it meant.
White House records obtained by CBS News and The Washington Post show Trump did not use his phone for over seven hours on January 6, 2021 during the attack on the U.S. Capitol, and the House select committee investigating the attack is looking into whether he used a “burner phone,” or a personal disposable phone whose contacts could not be traced.
In response, the former president said he had never heard of the phrase “burner phone.”
“I have no idea what a burner phone is, to the best of my knowledge I have never even heard the term,” Trump said.
But Bolton said he and Trump have spoken about how people have used “burner phones” to avoid having their calls scrutinized.
The White House documents show no calls placed to or by Trump for seven hours and 37 minutes from 11:17 a.m. to 6:54 p.m. on the day when thousands of his supporters descended on the U.S. Capitol, battled police and forcibly entered the building, prompting lawmakers and Vice President Mike Pence to flee for safety.
