Donald Trump didnt want to hear about it. Didnt encourage it.

Many people pointed out after the interview on CNN that all of this happened on Birxs watch.

Dr. Jonathan Reiner of George Washington University said, She was the White House pandemic coordinator. This was her job. And if things weren’t being done to her liking, her duty was to stand up and speak up.

True.

But Trump supporters already werent listening to the experts like Birx. They were listening to Trump. They needed for him to advocate precautions. To be loud and persistent about it.

Instead, Trump played down the dangers of the virus for months and months, then trotted out all manner of quack cures and treatments.

Several scholars, however, suggested that Democrats hold some responsibility for the repairing the cultural divide because they helped to cause it. They have increasingly lost a sense of alliance with people in rural America and the declining industrial regions, said Berkeley sociologist Neil Fligstein, and as a result, theyre seen as distant, arrogant elites.

Jadhav, meanwhile, goes beyond the political and economic to something nearly spiritual.

At the same time, he sees an essential need for engagement between coastal people and heartland people, metropolitan people and rural people.

Have Expressed Reluctance Or Misgivings But Havent Openly Dropped Their Backing

Paul Ryan and John Boehner, the former speakers of the House: Both have expressed their dislike of the president, but have not said whom they will support in November.

John Kelly, a former chief of staff to the president: Mr. Kelly has not said whom he plans to vote for, but did say he wished we had some additional choices.

Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska: She has said that shes grappling with whether to support Mr. Trump in November. She told reporters on Capitol Hill in June: I am struggling with it. I have struggled with it for a long time.

She said: I think right now, as we are all struggling to find ways to express the words that need to be expressed appropriately, questions about who Im going to vote for or not going to vote for, I think, are distracting at the moment. I know people might think thats a dodge, but I think there are important conversations that we need to have as an American people among ourselves about where we are right now.

Mr. Sanford briefly challenged the president in this cycles Republican primary, and said last year that he would support Mr. Trump if the president won the nomination .

That has since changed.

Hes treading on very thin ice, Mr. Sanford said in June, worrying that the president is threatening the stability of the country.

As former President Donald Trumps second impeachment trial begins, it shines a light on a new reality: although its been nearly 100 days since Trump lost his re-election he is not going away, at least in the short term. What will become of Trump? Here are nine possible outcomes for Trumps futurethe first four possibilities keep him in the middle of national politics in the latter five, he would more likely fade away.

1. Leading the Trumpublican faction of the GOP

Over the course of four years as president, Trump masterfully consolidated Republican voters into a cult of personality. His hardcore supporters were willing to believe anything that left his lips, regardless of evidence to the contrary. They were willing to put their own lives at risk as he huddled them together at rallies and mocked those taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They were willing to commit insurrection against their own government, all in his name and to support his lies about election malfeasance.

That non-trivial group of Republican and Republican-leaning voters is not going away, and they remain loyal not to the party but to Donald Trump. It remains to be seen exactly how large this group is, how much power they will wield in Republican primaries and whether a non-Trumpublican candidate can consolidate the remainder of the party.

In a typical general election year, elected officials readily line up behind their party’s presidential nominee. In 2012, for example, The Hill reported that only four Republican members of Congress had declined to endorse Mitt Romney by mid-September of that year. “All other House and Senate Republicans” had already endorsed the Republican nominee.

But 2016 was not a typical general election year.

A Reckoning Over Racial Inequality

Attitudes began to change as the protests wore on and sometimes turned violent, drawing sharp condemnation from Trump. By September, support for the Black Lives Matter movement had slipped to 55% largely due to decreases among White adults and many Americans questioned whether the nations renewed focus on race would lead to changes to address racial inequality or improve the lives of Black people.

Its the first time since July 2019 when party supporters have outnumbered Trump supporters in our poll, and its also the first time that party supporters have reached 50 percent on this question.

Strikingly, these numbers are coming as the perception of Trumps pull within his party couldnt be stronger.

GOP politicians are still trekking to Mar-A-Lago. Theyre clamoring for his endorsement. And House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy continues to hug Trump, even after what happened on Jan. 6.

But close to 100 days after leaving office, Trumps standing nationally as well within his own party is weaker today than it was three months ago.

Now we know what youre probably thinking: Since the 2020 polls understated Trumps support, isnt this poll maybe also understating his current support?

And you could be right.

But say you improved his favorable/unfavorable score by 5 points in both directions to 37 percent positive, 50 percent negative.

Thats still a rough set of numbers for someone many Republicans continue to view as the leader of their party.

Why I Support Donald Trump For President

I support Donald Trump for president because he says what he means and means what he says.

He speaks in simple terms and does not spew convoluted political-speak, which means his message can be easily understood by everyone. He gets right to the point so you know exactly where he stands on the issues. He is a doer and a man of action, which means he is committed to the promises he has made to the American people.

He has shown that he can get things done, even when those around around him try to tear him down on a daily basis, which means he is tough and he is focused. He implements policies that may be unpopular with some but inherently good for our nation, which means he is gutsy.

He has been able to mobilize those around him to follow through on policy for the betterment of our economic health and foreign affairs, which means Trump is a leader. He has directed the strongest economy and created the lowest unemployment for all Americans that the United States has seen in the last 49 years, which means he understands the dignity that comes with individual freedom from government support.

He has also willingly shut down his greatest accomplishment to save American lives from a viral enemy, which means he is compassionate. Trump has never taken a salary and donates it to charity. He has never spoken of this which means, yes, that he has some degree of humility.

Answer The Question Please

How come the Left cant answer President Trumps question? Why do we bring immigrants from third world countries, that cant find meaningful work and refuse to assimilate? Why is the Left trying to punish Middle-Class taxpayers and reward people that entered our country illegally with drivers licenses and free healthcare?

I find it insulting that white liberal thinks so little of People of Color they feel its their obligation to speak for us and defend us. Its so sad Black Americans cant see that white liberals are doing them no favors speaking for them while they languish in their safe space. Be a man and fight your own battles instead of having liberals treat you like infants! I dont get it. African Americans scream racism and oppression, yet they keep voting for people that keep them in there oppression.

Being African American why should I be impressed by Elizabeth Warren and Beto O Rourke who tell you how much theyre for African Americans when they are the Rachel Dolezals of politics. They want to identify as everything but white. Why would I want that kind of self-hating and white guilt leading this country?

President Trump doesnt apologize for being a white male and I absolutely love it. Maybe we have it twisted. Black Americans have been told all our lives we are victims. That we need good-hearted white liberals to save and protect us. Weve been suffering more under their domination then when living under Jim Crow.

Why Do People Support Trump

Before 2015 I was not an overly political person. Then Donald Trump entered the race. Like many people I watched the speeches, interviews and miscellany regarding Donald Trump and was very confused on how he continued to be successful within the presidential race. If it would have been any other person they would have been shunned very early on.

He mocked a reporter with a disability, made multiple false assertions that all immigrants are criminals, his obsession with crowd sizes and the lies that accompanied it, and of course the recording of him bragging about how he sexually assaults women. Thru it all people supported him, and not just regular support but vehemently supported him.

Never in prior elections have we seen this level of merchandising for a candidate. Political rallys had their loud moments in the past, but these became excessive. Where people would scream/clap didnt even make sense. It always felt like there was someone instructing them when to cheer. Everything that we saw during the 2015-2016 election cycle intensified for the 4 years of his presidency.

Some people dont actually want democracy. They want someone who they think shares their beliefs and they want them to do whatever it takes to follow thru. They are actually seeking a like-minded authoritarian instead of anyone that supports a democracy. A democracy forces people to recognize that there are differing opinions, and compromise is often needed.

As A Person Trump Is Disgusting

Im exhausted when it comes to sexual assault in politics. Its become so weaponised, you dont know who to believe. Because it now affects nearly everyone at the top, its almost become a non-issue which is unbelievably sad and disgusting. I feel bad for the women and potentially men who are truly victims. I dont think well ever hear them or that theyll ever get justice, because its impossible to tell whats real and what isnt.

As a person, Trump is disgusting. There are enough accusations out there that there has to be some level of truth to some of them. These women are going out on the line to make these allegations, it cant just be the Democrats rounding people up to say things. But I believe theres a problem with Biden too in this regard, so we actually dont have an option to vote for someone who isnt tainted by this. Its so sad.
