The newest addition to the brand is Trump International Hotel Washington D.C. Its existence in the capital, just down the street from the White House, makes its ownership status politically contentious.
The hotel itself is historic. It was constructed in 1899 as the capital’s main post office and became known as the Old Post Office. Architectural preservationists saved this gracious landmark from the wrecking ball.
In 2013, the building’s owner, the federal government, leased it out for 60 years to the highest bidder. That was the Trump Organization, and the Old Post Office, restored and glossed up, opened in October 2016 as the opulent Trump International Hotel Washington D.C.

Trump International Hotel and Towel in Vancouver, British Columbia, has permanently closed down and started laying off employees, several Canadian news outlets reported Friday.
Documents filed with the Canadian government show the hotels operator, TA Hotel Management Ltd., filed for bankruptcy on Thursday, CBC and CTV News reported, among other outlets.
Reporters who called the hotel the next morning said they were told it was no longer accepting reservations and permanently closed and that workers just learned they were laid-off.
The hotel one of several worldwide bearing President Trumps surname and owned by his familys private business opened in February 2017 and lasted a little over three years.
Vancouver declared a public health emergency in March due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, and soon the hotel said it was temporarily closing to help prevent it from worsening.
Mott 32, a restaurant inside the hotel, reopened in June. But it announced on Friday on Instagram it had temporarily closed and apologized to guests with existing reservations.
TA Global Berhad, a Malaysian company that owns TA Hotel Management Ltd, told regulators Friday that ongoing expenses since the outbreak of COVID-19 and lack of revenue has placed TA Hotel Management into a position of insolvency, Daily Hive Vancouver reported. A creditors meeting is set for September 16, the report said.

New Hotel Brand To Open At Former Trump Hotel Vancouver In 2022
Over a year after the local operator of Trump International Hotel & Tower Vancouver declared bankruptcy and permanently shuttered the hotel, the giant letters that spell out TRUMP at the propertys main entrance on West Georgia Street remain intact.
The hotel closed in after the accumulated impact of COVID-19 on its financial situation, just three and a half years after it first opened. TA Hotel Management was the local operating subsidiary of the hotel and tower, while local developer Holborn Properties owns the overall tower property.
The 616-ft-tall, 63-storey tower one of the last designs by late architect Arthur Erickson is the second tallest building in Vancouver, containing 147 guest rooms, amenities, and ballrooms within the first 15 floors of the tower, and 217 luxury condominium homes in the upper levels.
The strata overseeing the towers residential uses removed the controversial TRUMP branding as soon as possible after the hotel closed, rebranding itself as 1151 Residences.

The current bankruptcy remains in place and some of the TRUMP related branding, at the West Georgia Street level has begun to be removed namely the Spa by Ivanka signage at the front of the hotel doors, reads the minutes.

Loved my stay the Trump Hotel. Very spacious rooms. Very clean. Modern furnishings. LOVED the kitchenette. the negatives: not beachfront. therefore, you have to walk for about 5 minutes. but more importantly, no beach side service. there is a vendor contracted with the Trump Hotel for beach chairs. but space is limited. also, while the pool area is nice, the pool is tiny. really tiny. despite the location of the hotel, i would probably stay here again.More
