How Do I Send A Text Message To President Trump

How To Send A Message To The President Online

Donald J. Trump: Text VOTE to 88022

Contacting the Leader of the Free World is no small feat. Sending a message to the President of the United States , though, might not be a surefire way of contacting him. As youd imagine, hes one of the busiest people on the planet. For that reason, its unlikely that POTUS will receive your message let alone reply to it.

That being said, there are some things you can cover to increase the chances of receiving a reply.

Biden: Did You Get My Text President Gives Out His Community Phone Number

White House joins the messaging platform to increase outreach and seek more interactive connections.

Joe Biden wants in on your group chat.

The president joined the messaging platform, Community, which allows influencers and other high-profile figures to communicate directly with their audience through text messages.

The administration on Saturday unveiled a phone number, 404-0880 , through the platform and will ask people to share personal stories about how gun violence has changed their lives. The president will relay some of those stories during a White House event Monday highlighting the gun safety legislation he signed into law earlier this month.

White House aides say the texts from Bidens account will reflect a collaboration between staff and the president, although aides expect Biden to craft messages himself.

The presidents digital team has experimented with ways of reaching voters, particularly younger ones on social media platforms. The White House does not have a TikTok account, although Biden has filmed videos with the Jonas Brothers and others who uploaded the collaborations to their own TikTok accounts. The president also has sat for interviews loaded to Shade Room, a pop culture site geared for a young, Black audience, and White House Covid adviser Anthony Fauci has held Instagram Live sessions.

Aides say the White House can use the platform to announce trips and ask for feedback on proposals in the works or plan to preview.

Committee Reveals Text Messages Between Former Trump Campaign Officials In Aftermath Of Attack

Christina Prignano Amanda Kaufman

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection has obtained thousands of text messages relating to top White House officials actions in the weeks leading up to when a mob stormed the Capitol in attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Many of those texts were obtained by news organizations as the committee interviewed witnesses and prepared for the explosive public hearings. Now, theyre being referenced as the committee methodically tries to make the case that former president Donald Trump is responsible for the violence at the Capitol that day.

Many key text messages the committee obtained were turned over by Mark Meadows, and cover the run-up to Jan. 6 and some of its aftermath. The committee on Tuesday also revealed new texts between former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale and former Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson. Here are some of the texts that were turned over to the committee:

Virginia Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, reportedly exchanged dozens of text messages with Meadows urging him to overturn the 2020 election in the weeks after the results, The Washington Post reported.

Thomas texted Meadows frequently, sometimes sending him videos and other materials as she tried to claim the election results were rife with fraud.

Yes. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was the first to effectively employ this system with Hustle, which employed people to send personal text messages to prospective voters. Youve likely seen an increase in volume of text messages from local campaigns during an election or primary.

It turns out, youre more likely to respond to a text message than you are a phone call or email, which often are littered with spam or robocalls.

Donald Trump Offering Personalized Messages On Post

How Twitter Evolved From Startup To President Trumps Megaphone

Former President Donald Trump has a large and fiercely loyal following of supporters, and now he’s given them a way to request a personalized message.

Trump’s post-presidential website has a section where supporters can request a message from the ex-president and former first lady Melania Trump for a “special occasion.”

It’s not uncommon for a former president to give people a way to reach, and you can request a personalized memento from former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

Requesting a message from the Trumps is fairly easy and can be submitted electronically directly from his website. The form asks about the occasion, information on the recipient and requestor and any additional details the former president should know.

Receiving a message from Trump isn’t guaranteed, though, and requires planning because it can take up to six weeks to get a greeting. The office won’t provide status updates, either, and advises people to not resubmit a request because a duplicate request will supersede the original submission and delay processing.

Record high numbers of people turned out in last November’s election, and although he lost to Joe Biden, Trump received the most votes of any Republican presidential candidate in history. He hasn’t ruled out making another bid for the presidency in 2024, and a majority of his supporters are willing to back him as the Republican nominee.

Presidents Have The Power To Text All Americans Will Trump

Donald Trump, US president-elect and Twitter aficionado, will be able to send unblockable mobile alerts to all Americans starting Jan. 20.

    Senior reporter

Joan E. Solsman is CNET’s senior media reporter, covering the intersection of entertainment and technology. She’s reported from locations spanning Disneyland to Serbian refugee camps, and she previously wrote for Dow Jones Newswires and the Wall Street Journal. She bikes to get almost everywhere and has been doored only once.

President-elect Donald Trump will have access to a system that can send unblockable texts to every phone in the US once he takes the oath of office.

Wireless Emergency Alerts are part of a program created by a 2006 act of Congress. WEAs can be targeted messages sent to all mobile phones in a particular area, like Amber alerts, or to all phones nationally, like an alert issued by the president, according to a report by New York Magazine’s Select/All blog.

The Trump office didn’t immediately return a request seeking comment as to how the incoming president might use the system. The FCC, which provides a guide to the WEA program, also didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Tweets have landed Trump in hot water, too. Critics have said his informal tweeting is unpresidential, pointing to such behavior as an early-morning rant lashing out at a former beauty-pangeant winner, retweets with media linked to white supremecists and messages that promote unsubstantiated news, among others.

What Happens When You Send An Email

In most cases, you will initially receive a canned response from the government. You may get a response from the government office that you emailed. However, the response is usually written by staff members.

In rare cases, you may receive an email from the actual government official. Again, this is rare. Given the volume of emails they receive, it is usually not feasible for the official to personally respond to messages.

Secret Service Turned Over Just One Text Message To January 6 Panel Sources Say

House committee wants all communications from day before and day of Capitol attack but agency indicates such messages are lost

The Secret Service turned over just one text message to the House January 6 committee on Tuesday, in response to a subpoena compelling the production of all communications from the day before and the day of the US Capitol attack, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

The Secret Service told the panel the single text was the only message responsive to the subpoena, the sources said, and while the agency vowed to conduct a forensic search for any other text or phone records, it indicated such messages were likely to prove irrecoverable.

House investigators also learned that the texts were seemingly lost as part of an agency-wide reset of phones on 27 January 2021, the sources said 11 days after Congress first requested the communications and two days after agents were reminded to back up their phones.

The disclosures were worse than the committee had anticipated, the sources said. The panel had hoped to receive more than a single text and was dismayed to learn that the messages were lost even after they had been requested for congressional investigations.

It marked a damaging day for the Secret Service, which is required to preserve records like any other executive branch agency, and now finds itself in the crosshairs of the select committee examining its response with respect to the Capitol attack.

British Elections Send A Message To Trump Gop And Bidens Democrats

Make trump hold your sign by Therealkellypro

If Donald Trump were at all self-reflective, he would probably be kicking himself right now as he surveys the results of last weeks British elections. Through his own mistakes and obstinance in his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, he might conclude that he kicked away his chance to serve a second term in the White House.

These were the first elections in Britain since Boris Johnson became prime minister in 2019 and Johnsons Conservative Party came out winning, both in local races and in a signature victory in a working-class, parliamentary district in northeast England long held by the Labour Party.

Johnson, like Trump, mishandled the early stages of the pandemic. Like the former U.S. president, he contracted covid-19, and had a far worse case, having been hospitalized and in intensive care for a time. But his later handling of the pandemic was less uneven, and this year Britain stepped farther and faster in administering vaccinations than other European nations. It helped.

The British elections were not purely about the coronavirus pandemic, but nothing in politics today is free from the viruss effects in health, economic well-being and the public mood. On the most important issue of campaign 2020, Trump was a victim of his own making.

As Republicans debate Trumps role and what it means to be a conservative, Johnson, like Trump, is rewriting the rules of what conservatism means.

How Big Of A Problem Is Spam On Text Messages

Unlike robocalls, which have grown to be a scourge upon essentially everyone, spam text messages are far less of a problem. The CTIA estimates that about 3% of all text messages are spam, compared with nearly half of all e-mails.

That’s largely why campaign text messages seem more legit — there’s less of a stigma around spam in this area.

Texts Come Hours Apart With No Clear Explanation For How The Money Will Be Spent

Former President Donald Trump is out of office, and has not announced any plans to run in the future, but that hasnt stopped his political action committee from bombarding his fans with daily requests for money and other support.

Months of text messages reviewed by The Independent reveal that supporters of the former president received at least one text message per day throughout the month of May, with some texts coming mere hours apart ahead of fundraising deadlines.

The donation links route money to the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, a joint fundraising committee that splits funds between the Republican National Committee , Mr Trumps 2020 campaign for president, as well as the Save America PAC, an organisation founded by Mr Trump to fund his future political efforts.

The frequency of the calls for donations rivals that of most active political campaigns, and suggests that Mr Trump is keen on maintaining a massive war chest throughout his post-presidency that means his endorsement carries huge financial weight in any local race.

Some texts sent to supporters via the automated service are designed to appear as if they were personally written by the former president, while others are signed by Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr, and former first lady Melania Trump.

The Independent has reached out to the office of Mr Trump for comment.

    So What Was The Problem

Dave Portnoy Interviews President Trump (July 23, 2020)

The volume of messages likely tripped up the system. But the potential issue may have been that the messages didn’t include clear opt-out language, and the senders may not have gained consent ahead of time.

While the carriers haven’t spoken about the incident, the CTIA, the trade group that represents the US wireless industry, made clear that recipients must be able to unsubscribe from unsolicited texts.

“We expect all senders — whether airlines, schools, banks or campaigns — to include clear opt-out language and gain prior consent before sending a text,” said a spokesman for the organization. “These simple steps help protect consumers from spam, and maintain text messaging as a trusted medium for everyone.”
