Address Concerns But Be Mindful Of Age
While theres a big chunk of the population celebrating Trumps victory, Global News spoke to parenting experts to get their views on how to help those who hoped for a different result.
They stressed the importance of talking to your children about the election results in an age-appropriate manner.
Maturity levels vary. But generally, for young children under 10 youll want to focus on maintaining their sense of security, says Toronto registered psychologist Oren Amitay.
They can pick up on your anxiety or hear things at school that will make them think the world is a scarier place now, Amitay explains.
Too many people are going to get wrapped up in the fear and will infect their kids with that fear. Focus on the positive.
If you disagree with the election results, he suggests telling a younger child: Its unfortunate what happened in the States, but its not going to have a direct impact on you.
Older children can be told about potential consequences of Trumps election on things like womens rights, the environment and economy.

Encourage them to ask questions. Your job is not to indoctrinate kids, Amitay says, but have healthy discussions that teach critical thinking.
Nor do you want to dismiss their worries.
Everything can be turned into a learning experience.

Indeed, many observers here focus on his conspicuous absence at ASEAN-led summitry, but clear-eyed Asian states know their interests are served when the US continues to be engaged in this region, albeit in other ways, having been long used to the US no-show during George W Bushs presidency.
But to be sure, his bypassing of multilateral groupings and international institutions like the World Trade Organization was a pity.
He would have achieved stronger global support on tightening trade regulations and reining in countries that do not play by the rules.

Trump To Speak At North Carolina Gop Convention On June 5
Former President Donald Trump will speak at North Carolinas annual state Republican Party convention next month
This is very much the party of Donald Trump and the big lie: Cecilia Vega
RALEIGH, N.C. Former President Donald Trump will speak at North Carolinas annual state Republican Party convention next month, party officials announced Monday.
The former president will speak in person at the June 5 convention dinner in Greenville. Trump narrowly carried North Carolina in 2020 and held numerous events in the state toward the end of his campaign.
Trumps speech will be closed to the media, and journalists wont be able to view it via livestream or alternate forms, said Livy Polen, a spokeswoman for the NC GOP.
Trump has kept a relatively low public profile since leaving office. His last significant public speech was in February at the CPAC convention. Hes still banned from Twitter and Facebook, and his public comments have largely come in the form of written statements and calling into right-leaning news outlets.
Trumps daughter-in-law Lara Trump has not yet publicly ruled out a 2022 U.S. Senate run in North Carolina and has expressed interest in the contest. Trump has not endorsed any of the three Republicans already running for the seat being vacated by Republican Sen. Richard Burr.
Burr was censured by the state Republican Party following his vote to impeach Trump.

Supporters Say: He Understands Money And Business
Trump said: said, Maybe you didnt pay taxes. And I said, Well, that would make me smart.
Your comeback: He has ran at least four businesses into the ground and used Trump University to scam the most vulnerable of society, Jake Orvis, president of College Democrats of Georgia said. It goes to show that with a small loan of one million dollars one can game American bankruptcy law and take advantage of struggling Americans, the Georgia Tech junior said. He understands business? How Trump Uses Indirect Speech
Trump is a master of speaking indirectly to whoever his audience is. This is when he doesnt come out and explicitly say something, but rather simply implies it. Psychologists call this indirect speech and Trump excels in it.
Here are a few examples of it:
Russia, if youre listening, I hope youre able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.
The implication is that Trump was asking a foreign power to intervene in a national election through illegal activity. He later walked it back as he does nearly all of his indirect speech comments by claiming he was only joking.
Only joking or dont you get sarcasm when you hear it? are rationalizations used by others when they want to say something, but dont want to stand up for what they said. It is the type of speech that psychologists see regularly used by cowards and bullies, not usually politicians or distinguished statesmen.
If gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks Although the Second Amendment people maybe there is, I dont know.
Hes had to walk back so many of his comments, people have lost track of the count. Just last week he claimed that President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Trumps opponent in the presidential race, were literally the founders of ISIS, the Islamic terrorist group that has its roots during the time of the Bush presidency:
Ivana Trump Was Clearly Hurt After Donald Trump Got With Marla Maples
Some wounds still feel fresh, and it’s clear the Ivana Trump still holds some animosity towards Donald Trump’s second wife, Marla Maples. The pair were finally divorced in 1990, after months of speculations that their marriage was in turmoil, as Donald had been seen with Maples earlier in the year. As noted by The New York Times at the time, “cruel and inhuman treatment by Mr. Trump was cited as the grounds for the uncontested divorce” and that Ivana had endured “anxiety and sleeplessness” due to the media attention her then-husband and Maples garnered.
Maples is a model and actress, but that doesn’t stop Ivana from calling her by this nickname: “the showgirl.” In an interview with Time in 2017, Ivana still referred to Donald’s second wife and mother of daughter Tiffany by the nickname, and she even recalled some rather messy interactions during her divorce from Donald. As noted during the interview, Donald threatened to take Don Jr. away from Ivana, but she quickly retaliated. “Very often he doesn’t mean that,” she told Time. “He has said silly things.”

Trump Grasps For New Lines In Biden Era
Donald Trump is back. After a month out of the public eye, the former president picked CPACs friendly confines to launch his bid for political revival.
Judging from the crowd here, not much reviving at least among conservative activists will be necessary. Their support for Trump through electoral defeat, through the January mob attack on the US Capitol, through all of it never flagged.
So when Trump made his bid for continued leadership of the party as a king-maker and, perhaps, its standard-bearer in 2024 the crowd gave its full-throated approval.
For the ex-presidents potential successors in the party, however, there was a glimmer of opportunity on Sunday. Trumps speech was lacklustre by his standards. His self-imposed exile may have taken a toll leaving him grasping for lines that work in the Joe Biden era. And while approval of Trumps policies was sky-high in a straw poll of CPAC attendees, only just over half said they would vote for him if he ran in 2024. Its a daunting advantage, but perhaps not prohibitive.
Trumps continued influence within the party seems secure, but translating that influence into another presidential nomination if he wants it is no sure thing. Hell have to earn it.
Relationship With The Press
Throughout his career, Trump has sought media attention, with a “lovehate” relationship with the press. Trump began promoting himself in the press in the 1970s. Fox News anchor Bret Baier and former House speaker Paul Ryan have characterized Trump as a “troll” who makes controversial statements to see people’s “heads explode.”
In the 2016 campaign, Trump benefited from a record amount of free media coverage, elevating his standing in the Republican primaries.New York Times writer Amy Chozick wrote in 2018 that Trump’s media dominance, which enthralls the public and creates “can’t miss” reality television-type coverage, was politically beneficial for him.
As a candidate and as president, Trump frequently accused the press of bias, calling it the “fake news media” and “the enemy of the people.” In 2018, journalist Lesley Stahl recounted Trump’s saying he intentionally demeaned and discredited the media “so when you write negative stories about me no one will believe you.”
As president, Trump deployed the legal system to intimidate the press. In early 2020, the Trump campaign sued The New York Times, The Washington Post, and CNN for alleged defamation in opinion pieces about Russian election interference. Legal experts said that the lawsuits lacked merit and were not likely to succeed. By March 2021, the lawsuits against The New York Times and CNN had been dismissed.

The Apprentice Tv Show
Luckily, the early-2000s saw a strengthened economy, and with that fuel added to the fire, Trump not only rebounded financially but took the leap into entertainment. As a public figure on The Apprentice, Donald Trump cemented himself as a household name to an entirely new generation of people. This almost certainly is responsible for his political successes that were to come, as The Apprentice enjoyed a record-breaking viewership through the later 2000s and early 2010s.
Misogyny And Allegations Of Sexual Misconduct
Trump has a history of insulting and belittling women when speaking to media and on social media. He made lewd comments, demeaned women’s looks, and called them names like ‘dog’, ‘crazed, ‘crying lowlife’, ‘face of a pig’, or ‘horseface’.
In October 2016, two days before the second presidential debate, a 2005 “hot mic” recording surfaced in which Trump was heard bragging about kissing and groping women without their consent, saying “when you’re a star, they let you do it, you can do anything… grab ’em by the pussy.” The incident’s widespread media exposure led to Trump’s first public apology during the campaign and caused outrage across the political spectrum.
At least twenty-six women have publicly accused Trump of sexual misconduct as of September 2020, including his then-wife Ivana. There were allegations of rape, violence, being kissed and groped without consent, looking under women’s skirts, and walking in on naked women. In 2016, he denied all accusations, calling them “false smears,” and alleged there was a conspiracy against him.

Ivana Thought That Donald Trump Was Careless When It Came To Covid
When asked about her ex-husband’s approach to COVID-19 , Ivana Trump said that he was “careless.” According to People, Ivana kept in contact with her three children while Donald was being treated for the illness, saying that it was a very difficult time.
“I spoke to all my kids and they, of course, are worried,” she said, but went on to say that her husband should have been more careful. “He didn’t think it would happen to him,” she concluded. Of course, it is now known that Donald downplayed the severity of COVID-19, even after he found out just how dangerous the illness is. Even so, Ivana said that she was surprised when she found out that he had gotten sick given that he is “the cleanest, healthiest person.” Her words, not ours.
“I just hope he’s going to get out of it and be healthy,” Ivana later told People. “But who knows what will happen, because I don’t know anything about this virus and nobody else does and nobody knows how to cure it.” As we know, Donald did recover and made quite the show when he returned to the White House.
