So What Was The Problem

The volume of messages likely tripped up the system. But the potential issue may have been that the messages didnât include clear opt-out language, and the senders may not have gained consent ahead of time.

While the carriers havenât spoken about the incident, the CTIA, the trade group that represents the US wireless industry, made clear that recipients must be able to unsubscribe from unsolicited texts.

âWe expect all senders â whether airlines, schools, banks or campaigns â to include clear opt-out language and gain prior consent before sending a text,â said a spokesman for the organization. âThese simple steps help protect consumers from spam, and maintain text messaging as a trusted medium for everyone.â

Trump Begs Supporters To Donate For Upcoming Lawsuit Against Cnn

Its been over a week since former President Donald Trump pledged that he would be filing a lawsuit against CNN.

Yet, instead of court documents being filed, Trump appears to be more preoccupied with begging followers to send in money to support the so far non-existent legal action.

Im calling on my best and most dedicated supporters to add their names to stand with me in my impending LAWSUIT against Fake News CNN, a new fundraising email sent out from the ex-president on Friday said.

Add your name IMMEDIATELY to show your support for my upcoming lawsuit against Fake News CNN, the message declared, linking to a donations page.

That email titled Lets SUE CNN was one of two CNN-inspired fundraising emails sent out on Friday.

A second email sent out hours later struck a similar urgent tune and said: Im going to look over the names of the first 45 Patriots who added their names to publicly stand with their President AGAINST CNN.

Last Wednesday, the former president threatened to sue the cable network and sent CNNs General Counsel David Vigilante and top CNN executive Chris Licht a letter titled, Notice of Intent to Bring Civil Action for Defamation.

Without regard for President Trumps genuine belief in his statements, CNN has published numerous articles characterizing him as a liar and the purveyor of the Big Lie, the Trump legal letter to CNN said.

Neither CNN nor a Trump spokesperson returned The Daily Beasts request for comment on Friday evening.

Here on this blog I have written several times on politics and am proud to put across my points of view. While I dont claim to be a political pundit I have certain political views and educate myself accordingly.

Here are a list of my political posts in case you want to check them out

The Paper

The White House recommends that correspondents compose their letter on 8.5 by 11-inch paper, which is the standard size for most ruled and printer paper. When former President Donald Trump stepped off his private jet in the Washington, D.C., area on Sunday night, he set off a wave of social media hysteria.

Among the theories: He was turning himself in to the authorities or testifying in front of a grand jury. Some people wondered if he had a secret and sudden health scare, since he was still wearing what appeared to be white golf shoes, and being whisked off to Walter Reed.

In reality, Trump was checking on the status of his golf course in Sterling, Va. With his son, Eric Trump, Trump Organization staff, and the head groundskeeper, they made preparations for a possible future LIV golf tournament. While there, Trump had breakfast with Rep. Byron Donalds, . He posed for a photo with a smiling member of his congressional staff.

After graduating from law school in 1986, Pence was an attorney in private practice. In 1988, Pence ran for Congress against Democratic incumbent , but lost. He ran against Sharp again in 1990, quitting his job in order to work full-time in the campaign, but once again was unsuccessful. During the race, Pence used “political donations to pay the mortgage on his house, his personal credit card bill, groceries, golf tournament fees and car payments for his wife”. While the spending was not illegal at the time, it reportedly undermined his campaign.

During the 1990 campaign, Pence ran a television advertisement in which an actor, dressed in a robe and headdress and speaking in a thick Middle Eastern accent, thanked his opponent, Sharp, for doing nothing to wean the United States off imported oil as chairman of a House subcommittee on energy and power. In response to criticism, Pence’s campaign responded that the advertisement was not about Arabs rather, it concerned Sharp’s lack of leadership. In 1991, Pence wrote an essay, “Confessions of a Negative Campaigner”, published in the Indiana Policy Review, in which he apologized for running negative ads against Sharp. Pence vowed to refrain from using insulting speech or running ads that belittle his adversaries. Also taking place in 1991, he became the president of the , a self-described and a member of the , a position he held until 1993.

The Claim: Trumps Letter To Biden Says You Know I Won

After sidestepping nearly every significant tradition in the transfer of power, now former President Donald Trump did uphold one routine of an outgoing president leaving his predecessor a note.

President Joe Biden alongside Vice President Kamala Harris was inaugurated on Jan. 20.

However, despite no evidence of widespread fraud and dozens of failures in court, some of Trumps supporters and allies are continuing to push baseless conspiracy theories about a stolen election.

Following the revelation that Trump had left Biden a note, people took to social media to speculate about whatit said.

One Instagram post, from a Florida-based lifestyle account, shared an image of a note that reads Joe, you know I won, with the supposed signature of Trump on White House stationery. USA TODAY was unable to reach the poster for comment.

The same letter was also shared here on this blog post and has 1,278,988 views as of Jan. 22.

The image also was widely shared across social media.

What does Trumps note to Biden say?

The tradition of an outgoing president leaving letters for his successor is relatively new, but the practice has been upheld since Ronald Reagan wrote to George H.W. in 1989. Trump received a letter from Obama in 2017, which said in part, Regardless of the push and pull of daily politics, its up to us to leave those instruments of our democracy at least as strong as we found them.

Religion And Lgbt Rights

On March 26, 2015, Pence signed , also known as the Indiana “religious objections” bill , into law. The move was praised by , but criticized by people and groups who felt the law was carefully worded in a way that would permit discrimination against persons. Such organizations as the , the gamer convention , and the spoke out against the law. Apple CEO and Salesforce.com CEO condemned the law, with saying it would halt its plans to expand in the state. announced that they would cancel a $40 million expansion of their Indianapolis-based headquarters over concerns with the law. The expansion would have moved 1000 jobs into the state. Thousands protested against the policy. Five Republican state representatives voted against the bill, and , the Republican mayor of Indianapolis, criticized it as sending the “wrong signal” about the state.

Now is probably not the appropriate time to talk politics but do you condemn Gentry began, before Lombardo replied, So why are we talking politics then?

Do you condemn former President Trumps normalization of violence against journalists? Gentry continued.

Lombardo said the case press conference was an inappropriate venue to speculate on that or opine on that.
