Trump To Hold Iowa Rally As Poll Shows Strong Approval Ratings

Donald Trump dominates poll in Nevada, South Carolina
  • Former president stays quiet on possible 2024 White House run

Donald Trump was set to return to Iowa on Saturday for a campaign-style rally, on the heels of a poll showing strong support in the state which traditionally kicks off presidential elections.

Trump has not announced a second run for the White House.

Instead, he has maintained control of his party by repeating lies about electoral fraud in his defeat by Joe Biden attempting to block a congressional investigation of the deadly Capitol attack by supporters seeking overturn that defeat fundraising strongly and bragging about how he would defeat potential rivals including the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, if he chooses to seek the nomination again.

He also continues to attack his own party establishment. This week, Trump condemned the Republican leader in the Senate for ending opposition to helping Democrats raise the US debt limit, a position which threatened economic catastrophe.

In a statement, Trump called the move a terrible deal pushed by folding Mitch McConnell. McConnell seemed sure to come under fire from the stage at the Iowa state fairgrounds in Des Moines on Saturday night.

Ahead of the rally, the Des Moines Register released a poll which showed that 53% of Iowans view Trump favourably.

While Republicans mostly align themselves with Trump, Democrats and independent observers continue to warn about the likely consequences of another Trump run or presidency.

Donald Trump

While overall attitudes toward the United States are favorable, there are large differences across the 33 nations in the study, especially among some of its key European Union allies. It receives its most positive reviews in the region from three Central and Eastern European nations: 79% of Poles, 70% of Lithuanians and 66% of Hungarians have a favorable opinion of the U.S.

Meanwhile, Europeâs lowest ratings for the U.S. are in the Netherlands , Sweden and Germany . Outside of the EU, ratings for the U.S. are much more positive in Ukraine than in Russia .

As has been the case over time in Pew Research Center surveys, most in the sub-Saharan African nations polled express favorable opinions of the U.S. Views in Asia are also mostly positive, though 45% in U.S. ally Australia currently give the U.S. an unfavorable rating.

Israelis give the U.S. its highest rating on the survey . But while 94% of Israeli Jews see the U.S. positively, just 37% of Israeli Arabs agree. Elsewhere in the Middle East and North Africa, attitudes are more negative. This is especially the case in Turkey, where just one-in-five have a favorable opinion of the U.S., the lowest percentage registered in the survey.

Views of the U.S. are mostly negative in Mexico, where just 36% give the U.S. a favorable rating, only 8% have confidence in Trump and fully 90% oppose the building of a wall on their countryâs border with the U.S.

Donald Trump often splits opinion when it comes to his politics. The former president of the United States is primed to announce a new presidency bid for 2024s election and will require a swing in the vote from his 2020 loss to Joe Biden to regain his seat. With that said, what do the British people think of Mr Trump and where does he rank in their reckoning of foreign politicians?

Bidens Overall Job Approval Stagnates But Covid Approval Ticks Up

Bidens approval ratings have plummeted since taking office. Iowans disapprove of the job he’s doing as president by about a 2-to-1 margin.

From September:Iowa Poll: 62% of Iowans disapprove of the job Joe Biden is doing as president

Bidens job approval has not been in net positive territory in Iowa since March. Then, 47% of Iowans approved of his performance and 44% disapproved.

Today, one-third of all Iowa adults, 33%, say they approve of the job Biden is doing as president, ticking up 2 percentage points from the Registers last Iowa Poll, conducted in September 62% disapprove and 6% are not sure.

This is not a good approval rating by any definition, Selzer said.

Biden is rated poorly for his handling of a range of issues. Fewer than a third of all Iowans approve of his handling of immigration, criminal justice, the economy and the situation in Afghanistan.

On those specific issues:

Hommer, a truck driver, said hes spending significantly more to fuel up when he goes to the pump. He blames Biden for rising fuel prices after he halted construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and tried, unsuccessfully, to pause new oil and gas drilling on federal lands.

Everythings gone up, so I almost cant afford to live, he said.

The one policy area where Bidens approval has improved slightly is his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, 41% of Iowans say they approve, while 57% say they disapprove. In September, 36% approved and 60% disapproved.

Americans Don’t Want Joe Biden Or Donald Trump To Run In 2024

A majority of Americans do not want either President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump to run for the White House again in 2024, according to recent polling.

The president is facing stubbornly low approval ratings as he nears his 11th month office and some polling has shown him losing to Trump in a hypothetical rematch.

Trump has repeatedly teased a third presidential campaign, while Biden has indicated he intends to run for a second term amid speculation about his future and his recent 79th birthday.

A USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll conducted from November 3 to 5 found that 64 percent of respondents did not want Biden to run again.

A further 29 percent said they did want the president to run again and 7 percent were undecided.

The same poll found that 58 percent of respondents did not want Trump to run again in 2024, while 36 percent said they did and 6 percent were undecided.

The Suffolk University poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters and had a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.

A separate Marquette Law School poll conducted from November 1 to 10 found that 71 percent of respondents did not want former President Trump to run for another term, while 28 percent favored him running again.

The Marquette poll surveyed 1,000 U.S. adults and had a margin of error of 3.9 percentage points.

Donald Trump Claims Poll Numbers Are in His Favour Despite Official Data

News channel senses a turnaround with big interview but viewing figures show there is still a long way to go

He was the hype man who tried to use his Brexit success to bolster Donald Trump’s re-election bid last year. Now Nigel Farage is calling in the favours after securing a world exclusive interview with the former US President to help boost the ratings of GB News.

After a volatile start punctuated by technical gaffes and the noisy exit of its chairman and lead presenter Andrew Neil, the BBC challenger is looking to leave its early shortcomings behind.

In a glossy trailer cut from the Fox News playbook, GB News billed its interrogation of The Donald as a no-holds barred event on topics spanning Boris Johnson, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and whether he would run again in 2024.

Slated for 7pm tonight on Farage’s eponymous show, the broadcasting event was finally securing headlines for GB News for the right reasons. And it has come at an opportune moment.

The one-on-one chat comes in the same week that it unleashed a nationwide advertising blitz designed to boost its image outside the M25 as an industry disruptor.

On Monday, the fledgling news network parked an advertising van outside New Broadcasting House, the BBC’s headquarters at Portland Place in central London, with the provocative message: We ask the questions you’d ask. BBC News doesn’t. It’s time to change channels.

More Negative Ratings For Trump Than For Other World Leaders

German Chancellor Angela Merkel receives the highest marks among the five leaders tested on the poll: A median of 46% express confidence in her leadership of world affairs, while 29% say they do not have confidence in the long-serving German leader. Views of Merkel vary widely within Europe. While roughly seven-in-ten or more have confidence in her in Sweden, the Netherlands, France, the UK, Germany and Spain, only 28% of Hungarians, 25% of Czechs and 22% of Greeks say the same.

Relatively few express confidence in Russian President Putin or Chinese President Xi. And U.S. President Trump receives more negative ratings than either the Russian or Chinese leader.

What Would Make You Change Your Mind About Donald J Trump

When Michael Tesler, a political scientist at the University of California Irvine, tries to explain the amazing stability of Trumps approval in his classes, he starts with a question. He asks his students if theres anything Trump could do to make them support him. And hes invariably met by a sea of shaking heads. If you went into Trumps presidency thinking hes a racist, sexist, xenophobic, immoral, narcissistic, corrupt, and incompetent person beliefs held by most Clinton voters then theres literally almost nothing he could do to change your mind, says Tesler.

The same is true in reverse. If you see Trump as the protector of Western Civilization, as Charlie Kirk called him the other night at the RNC, or the protector of white America, as Desmond King and Rogers Smith have called him, defending cherished American values from atheist, left-wing socialists who want to take your guns and put Cory Booker in charge of diversifying your neighborhoods, then theres almost nothing that would make you abandon him, Tesler continues.

But how do we know if were being governed with a bare level of competence?

Donald Trump Is Running Again Part 7282

Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large

It’s the absolute worst-kept secret in politics: Donald Trump is full-speed-ahead on a 2024 presidential bid.

The Point: Polling done almost three years before an election — and with a midterm election sandwiched in between — should be taken with considerable caveats. But that Trump’s super PAC is doing the polling tells you everything you need to know about the former President’s plans and interests.

Trump Vs Biden Poll: Donald Decisively Wins In 5 Battleground States

  • The poll surveyed 600 likely voters in 2024
  • The GOP poll comes as Trump seemingly makes plans for a 2024 bid
  • Psaki on Monday confirmed Biden will run for reelection in 2024

Former President Donald Trump could win against President Joe Biden in five key battleground states in the 2024 election, according to a recent poll.

In a new survey conducted by GOP pollster Tony Frabizio, the former president led Biden in Arizona by a 51% to 43% margin Georgia by 48% to 45% Michigan by 53% to 41% Pennsylvania by 51% to 45% and Wisconsin by 52% to 42%, according to a poll memo obtained by Politico.

During the 2020 election, Biden won all five states, earning him a total of 73 electoral votes and helping him get a decisive win against Trump. The former president has since organized four rallies in the swing states as part of the Make America Great Again movement.

“Poll after poll clearly demonstrates that former President Donald Trump is still the 800-pound gorilla in the GOP and would be its 2024 nominee should he run,” Fabrizio told Politico.

“This new data clearly shows that today the voters in these five key states would be happy to return Trump to the White House and send Biden packing.”

The poll also surveyed 600 likely voters on whether they approve of Bidens and Trumps jobs as president. Trump led Biden by 10 percentage points in Arizona, 9 points in Georgia, 14 points in Michigan, 11 points in Pennsylvania and 13 points in Wisconsin.
