President Trump Bridges Gaps

Barabara Corcoran: Trump wouldn’t be a good president

Another highlight of Trumps presidency is his ability to bridge gaps. This ability particularly presented itself with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Prior to the June Singapore summit, Trump and Kim Jong Un maintained a tense relationship, to say the least. Both parties frequently criticized one another. This subsequently prompted Trump critics to opine that he would drag America into World War III.

Of course, people who held this opinion turned out to be wrong. The presidents meeting with Kim Jong Un resulted in the signing of an agreement in which Kim Jong Un affirmed his decision to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula. In exchange, Trump also agreed to halt joint military unions with South Korea.

No Dogs Allowed In The Donald Trump White House

If all the U.S. presidents were featured in a high school yearbook, Donald Trump would receive a number of “superlatives.” Taking office at 70 makes him the oldest president ever, but he’s also the wealthiest president, and the first to inhabit the Oval Office despite no prior political or military experience. Trump will also go down in the presidential trivia history books for the odd fact that he’s the first POTUS in more than 200 years to not have pets in the White House. Nearly all of Trump’s predecessors brought an animal to Washington Thomas Jefferson had some bear cubs, John Quincy Adams reportedly kept an alligator, William Howard Taft loved his cow, Bill Clinton had a cat named Socks, and Barack Obama adopted Portuguese water dogs named Sunny and Bo. But there are no capitol critters in the Trump White House.

The reason: Trump isn’t much into pets. “Donald was not a dog fan,” the president’s first wife, Ivana Trump, wrote in her memoir, Raising Trump. She had a beloved poodle named Chappy, and when she moved to New York to be closer to her husband, she, of course, wanted to bring along the dog. He apparently refused … that is, until Ivana told him that she and Chappy were a package deal.

Opinion: Trump Is One Of The Best Conservative Presidents In Modern History If You Turn The Sound Off

The mute button at the second presidential debate worked wonders. And its success provokes an interesting thought experiment: How would the Trump presidency be seen with a mute button on?

President Trump says a lot of things that dismay even his supporters. But what if we turned off our TVs, stopped looking at Twitter and looked at what he has done in office over the past four years? With the sound off, Trumps is one of the greatest conservative presidencies in modern American history. Consider the record:

His victory over Hillary Clinton stopped Democrats from replacing the late justice Antonin Scalia with a liberal activist, saving the Supreme Courts conservative majority. He appointed three fantastic new justices and has had more than 200 judges confirmed to the lower courts.

He signed the first comprehensive tax reform in three decades removed the wet blanket of Obama-era regulations smothering our economy scrapped the Trans-Pacific Partnership that advantaged China and brokered new trade deals with Mexico, Canada, Japan and South Korea. Before the coronavirus pandemic, unemployment reached record lows, including for Blacks and Hispanics. And even in the midst of a pandemic-induced economic crisis, 56 percent of Americans say they are better off now than they were four years ago.

And he is the first president since Ronald Reagan not to start a new war.

Drinks Are Not On Donald Trump

Donald Trump is not without vice, and he’d likely admit to as much. His love of fat/calorie/comfort-laden fast food is well documented, and he reportedly watches as much TV as he can fit into his busy schedule. But there’s one big indulgence in which the president apparently doesn’t abide and that’s alcohol.

While in his twenties, Trump’s older brother, airline pilot Freddy Trump, developed a severe lifelong drinking problem. Complications from the disease directly led to the elder Trump’s death in 1981 at the age of 43. “I watched him, and I learned from him,” Donald Trump told The New York Times of seeing his brother make bad choices that worsened his condition. As a result of his brother’s example, President Trump has claimed that he’s never touched a drop of booze in his life. While declaring a national health emergency over the ongoing opioid crisis in 2017, Trump recalled Freddy, calling his brother a “great guy” with the “best personality” . However, he also made note of Freddy’s addiction issues, saying, “And to this day I’ve never had a drink, and I have no longing for it. I have no interest in it.”

Five Reasons To Like President Donald Trump

Logical Reasons Why Trump Is a Good President

The Trump presidency may be the best thing that happened to America since super-white Wonder Bread and Mickey Mouse.

Couldnt Make America Great Again.

When I was growing up, I always thought the president of the United States had to be smart, honest, kind and in possession of a higher sense of integrity. Later in the game, during the presidential debates, I was introduced by Hillary Clinton to the mysterious existence of public and private positioning, separated by a membrane of performance and political intelligence.

INSIDE STORY: Will Donald Trump last through his first full term as US president?

Donald Trump, as president, knows none of this. And this is why I am glad Trump is president. Let us be very clear I am not fond of Mr Trump, his politics, his TV show or his ties. I like him as a person as much as I like electoral college democracy, the fake pursuit of American happiness and segregated healthcare. And no, I did not vote for him. But I do like his child-like, knee-jerk, unpolished responses, which Twitter enables and distributes at the speed of electricity.

Why Donald Trump Is Republicans’ Worst Nightmare In 2024

Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large

Earlier this week, amid a rambling attack on the validity of the 2020 election, former President Donald Trump said this: “Interesting that today a poll came out indicating I’m far in the lead for the Republican Presidential Primary and the General Election in 2024.”

“Trump is confiding in allies that he intends to run again in 2024 with one contingency: that he still has a good bill of health, according to two sources close to the former president. That means Trump is going to hang over the Republican Party despite its attempts to rebrand during his exile and its blockade of a Trump-centric investigation into January’s insurrection.”“Manhattan prosecutors pursuing a criminal case against former President Donald Trump, his company and its executives have told at least one witness to prepare for grand jury testimony, according to a person familiar with the matter — a signal that the lengthy investigation is moving into an advanced stage.”

How Can We Prevent Trump

Trump will be seen as a great president just like Reagan: Ronald Kessler

As the Trump era comes to a close, many Americans will breathe a sigh of relief as the chaos, divisiveness and cloud of corruption that have characterized this presidency recede. In spite of Trumps unprecedented attempts to undo democracy, by and large our institutions held. The courts did not overturn the election, the press has not been nationalized or silenced, and civil servants stood up to the president on issues from the infamous Ukraine telephone call to the approval timeline for Covid-19 vaccines. Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic House of Representatives were not cowed and their powers were not diminished. Even the craven Republican Senate showed, once in a while, that it would act contrary to Trumps willfrom the passage of a Russian sanctions bill at the beginning of the Trump era to the veto override of the defense bill at the end.

But a healthy democracy needs constant tending. Its time to look at our entire democratic system and see where changes should be made. As I have argued before, reforming the primary system to re-insert some element of peer review into our nomination system would go a long way towards preventing people like Trump from getting a shot at the presidency in the first place. But that is only one of many areas where reform is needed.

Reasons Trump Is Unfit To Be President

Part of the mad genius of Donald J. Trump is that he never runs from scandals. He just creates more of them. So many more that anyone attempting to track them all risks becoming numb as a survival mechanism.

A collective amnesia sets in. We ask ourselves, Do you remember that time when Trump got impeached, said that super-racist thing, cozied up to dictators, threatened our elections, or oh, whatever that was?

Well, we at The Bulwark do. Yes, it can be hard to keep up. We all need reminders. So, lest anyone forget or require convincing, heres a non-exhaustive list of 100 reasons Donald Trump is unfit to be president.

President Trump Personifies Success

One of the most remarkable aspects of Trump is his success. The president owns multiple hotels, resorts, golf courses, residential towers and more. He has authored multiple best-selling books and currently maintains a net worth in the billions.

Unfortunately, success is something that is constantly under attack by progressives and Democrats. These attacks are largely carried out by the lefts incessant calls to increase taxes on wealthy, successful Americans. However, what the liberal left fails to realize is that one cannot make the poor rich by making the rich poor.

Success is something that must be earned and worked for. Having Trump in office places a spotlight on his achievements it also shows that anything can be accomplished with determination, gumption, hard work and consistency.

A League Of Donald Trump’s Own

8 reasons why Donald Trump should be president

While Donald Trump gave up on his dreams of playing baseball, he couldn’t get America’s pastime out of his head. According to Deadspin, Trump expressed interest in buying several Major League Baseball teams in the 1980s, including the Cleveland Indians, Minnesota Twins, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, and San Diego Padres.

After negotiations fell apart each and every time, Trump took another tack: In 1989, he announced the creation of the Independent Baseball League. Trump and associates announced that Washington, D.C. would get a team, as would the New York area . Other cities discussed to receive franchises included Los Angeles, Denver, Phoenix, Indianapolis, Sacramento, Portland, New Orleans, and more.

What likely killed the IBL ? Trump wanted play to begin in 1990, less than a year after formation. Not helping things was a recruiting debacle involving Ben McDonald, a pitcher selected by the Baltimore Orioles with the #1 pick in the 1989 MLB Draft. After the Orioles offered a modest contract, Trump counter-offered McDonald a robust $2.25 million to play in the IBL for three years … which McDonald apparently used as leverage to get a better deal in Baltimore. After he was unable to secure McDonald, the development of the IBL apparently fell apart, and Trump stopped talking about it publicly.
