Companies that stuck with Trump throughout his term are cutting ties in an 11th-hour stampede, including Signature Bank which closed Trump’s personal accounts and the PGA of America which scotched a plan to hold its 2022 championship at Trump’s New Jersey golf course.

The Trump Organisation is under city contract to operate the two ice rinks and a carousel in Central Park as well as a golf course in the Bronx.

Trumps Presidency Ends Where So Much Of It Was Spent: A Trump Organization Property

When Donald Trump was first running for election in 2016, he offered repeated disdain for President Barack Obamas golf habit.

I think hes played 300 rounds of golf or something like that, more than 300, he said that September. Thats more golf than many members on the PGA Tour. Okay?

Were he elected, Trump promised, hed be working for you, as he said that August. Im not going to have time to go play golf.

It took two weeks for President Trump to find the time. On the first weekend in February 2017, his third weekend as president, Trump traveled to his private companys resort in Florida, Mar-a-Lago, heading out on both Saturday and Sunday for rounds of golf at his nearby club. He did the same thing the following weekend and then the weekend after that.

As with so many other aspects of Trumps presidency, Trumps reneging on his pledge to avoid the links and his incessant stops at his privately held properties spurred outrage briefly before fading into background noise. We are now no more surprised that Trump visited a Trump Organization property than we might be that he disparaged a political opponent. These are simply things that happened in the Trump presidency.

But with Trumps transition back to the private sector on Wednesday, its worth noting the scope of his forays to his own properties as president, visits that often included a round of golf or two. After all, Trumps presidency will end at Mar-a-Lago, a fitting coda for his four-year tenure.

President Trump Was At A Golf Course Again This Weekend

President Trump was back at one of his golf courses again Sunday.

Trump held three meetings on Sunday at the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia, according to a pool reporter. He also spent Saturday at golf club meetings as well. Its not clear if he actually played golf. The White House declined multiple requests to tell pool reporters on duty whether or not Trump played.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer recently defended the presidents golf outings by saying he takes meetings and calls at the club. Previously, White House officials avoided saying Trump was playing golf until a photo of him wearing a golf glove was released.

Trump often criticized former President Barack Obamas golfing habit.

Correction: The original version of this story incorrectly described Trumps visit to the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia. He was there, but its not clear if he actually played.

Washington Criticized for golfing twice on a Memorial Day weekend during which the US coronavirus death toll approached 100,000, President Donald Trump responded Sunday and Monday by drawing attention, again, to former President Barack Obama’s golfing.

Facts FirstTrump has spent much more time playing golf than Obama did through this point of the term — after repeatedly attacking Obama’s golfing and claiming he would not play if he got elected himself. Just Trump’s airplane trips to his Mar-a-Lago Club and residence in Florida, from which he has often taken a motorcade ride to a nearby , have required far more air travel than Obama’s once-a-year Hawaii vacations did through this point in the term.

Our Rating: Missing Context

We rate this claim MISSING CONTEXT, based on our research. References to Trump’s golf trips have been well-documented throughout his presidency. The president, himself has admitted to visiting golf resorts owned by the Trump Organization while traveling abroad. But the reason for his official travel is at the discretion of the White House. Much of the costs for golf outings and resort stays are estimates. Absent that confirmation, we cannot say with certainty this number is true.

Why Donald Trump Golfing During Hurricane Dorian Is A Problem

As Dorian grew into a Category 5 hurricane over Labor Day weekend, President Donald Trump played golf. Twice.

The most common critique of Trumps decision to hit the links was focused on the obvious hypocrisy. And yes, there is that!

President Obama has a major meeting on the N.Y.C. Ebola outbreak, with people flying in from all over the country, but decided to play golf, tweeted Trump in October 2014. And this one from a few months later: Obama has admitted that he spends his mornings watching @ESPN. Then he plays golf, fundraises & grants amnesty to illegals.

But at this point in his presidency and his life Trumps hypocrisy is so well-proven as to be almost mundane. He believes that he is governed by different rules than literally everyone else. That whats good for the goose is definitely not good for the gander. This is bad. It is also not new.

What is more striking and damaging as it relates to the overall health of the country is that Trumps golfing weekend speaks to how he simply does not see the presidency as a beacon of moral leadership .

Its Politics 101 that when the people you represent are struggling or fearful or anxious, etc. you do what you can, from a public standpoint, to make sure they know you are with them in spirit if not in body. Its why, you would think, Trump canceled his plans to go to Poland over the weekend. Better to stay stateside and monitor the storm making sure people know you are on top of things!

US president heads to Virginia a day after saying hed stay in Washington DC to make sure law and order is enforced amid ongoing anti-racism protests

Donald Trump visited one of his own private golf courses in Virginia on Saturday as America continued to see fallout from a rapid surge in coronavirus cases. The trip came a day after the US president said he would stay in Washington DC to make sure law and order is enforced amid ongoing anti-racism protests.

The president has been frequently criticized for the scale of his golfing habit while in office. CNN which tallies his golfing activities said the visit to the Trump National course in Loudon county, just outside Washington DC, was the 271st of his presidency putting him at an average of golfing once every 4.6 days since hes been in office. His predecessor, Barack Obama, golfed 333 rounds over the two terms of his presidency, according to NBC.

The visit comes as the number of confirmed new coronavirus cases per day in the US hit an all-time high of 40,000, according to figures released by Johns Hopkins on Friday. Many states are now seeing spikes in the virus with Texas, Florida and Arizona especially badly hit after they reopened their economies a policy they are now pausing or reversing.

It is not yet known if Trump actually played a round of golf. But a photographer captured the president wearing a white polo shirt and a red cap, which is among his common golfing attire.

The Claim: Trump’s Golf Trips Have Cost The American Taxpayer $141000000

One of President Donald Trump’s favorite recreational activities is golf.

Robert Reich, author and former Labor secretary, claims in an Oct. 19 post to his Facebook page that the hobby is subsidized by U.S. taxpayers.

“Once again, Trump brags about donating his $400,000 presidential salary. Somehow he forgot to mention that his golf trips have cost taxpayers $141,000,000,” says a screenshot of a Reich posted that same day.

Reich, who served during the Clinton administration, was named one of the 10 best Cabinet members in the 20th century by Time magazine. The documentary maker now runs a blog, RobertReich.org.

Reich has not responded to a request for comment from USA TODAY. The White House was also asked to comment.

It is likely the estimated costs of the president’s golf trips was derived from independent websites such as Trump Golf Count, which tracks government spending.

Trump Begins Long Golf Weekend Bringing Taxpayers’ Tab To $108 Million

President Donald Trump began a three-day golf weekend Friday, making his 16th visit to his New Jersey golf club since entering office and pushing his total travel and security costs for his hobby to $108.1 million.

The presidents Marine One helicopter touched down at Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster around 12:45 p.m. Trump is not scheduled to return to the White House until Sunday, giving him three more golf days at his resort 45 miles west of New York City.

Heading into Friday, Trump had spent 60 days at his course in Northern Virginia, 59 days at Bedminster and 57 days at his resort in West Palm Beach. He has also visited his courses in Los Angeles Doral, Florida Jupiter, Florida Scotland and Ireland all on the taxpayer dime.

Trumps use of Air Force One, even the smaller version he used Friday, and Marine Corps helicopters both in Washington and New Jersey drive up costs to taxpayers, and the long weekend will add at least $1.1 million to his grand total, according to a HuffPost analysis.

While he was a reality TV host and then as a presidential candidate, Trump frequently pounded President Barack Obama for spending too much time on the golf course. Trump often told audiences he would be too busy to take any vacations, let alone play golf.

In contrast, the staffs of Obama and former President George W. Bush routinely disclosed the presidents golf partners.
