Dark Patterns At Work

Watch President Donald Trump’s address to the nation on coronavirus pandemic

It turns out that Im not the only one who has been collecting and dissecting Trumps campaign emails. Theres a veritable cottage industry in this line of work.

A group of researchers at Princeton Universitys Center for Information Technology Policy has just into a collection of 100,000 political emails, including those from the Trump campaign.

It found that the majority of emails used dark patterns to manipulate voters and trick donors.

Dark patterns are deceptive designs or messaging intended to dupe users into doing things they might not otherwise do.

The study found that most of the emails used at least one of six tactics identified by the researchers that are geared towards nudging recipients to open emails and manipulating them to donate.

Deceptive and manipulative tactics are the norm in our , not the exception, the researchers conclude.

These six tactics are:

What Are The Big Differences Between Commemorative Coins And Collectible Coins

This is a question many people are asked. Commemorative coins are created and issued by a government body as a token of appreciation to an individual. They are usually presented as gifts and are not meant to be used to purchase goods or services.

On the other hand the collectible coins are those which are issued by commercial and private companies to commemorate events. While both types that are coins can be considered miniature masterpieces of art and can be extremely beautiful, the main difference between them is that commemorative coins are issued by governments as opposed to collectibles issued by commercial and private organizations.

Another difference between these two kinds of coin is the fact that collectible coins are usually legal tender and can be used to buy goods and services while commemorative coins arent legal tender.

Lawsuits Around Trumps Financial And Tax Information

  • On September 22, 2021, Trump commenced a lawsuit in New York state court against The New York Times, several journalists and his niece, , for a 2018 article detailing his taxes and finances, which he claims violates a 2001 settlement agreement signed by Mary. Trump is seeking at least $100 million in damages.

A Key Difference Between The Two

Bradley Moss, a Washington-based lawyer who works on national security cases, said the cases of Clinton and Trump are significantly different.

Trump took properly marked hard copy classified documents from the White House, shipped them to Florida, and stored them in an unsecured location at his residence, Moss said.

The presence of classified information in Clintons emails was less obvious.

The e-mails were never marked as classified because these were communications from unclassified government accounts, Moss said.

In three instances, email chains included information with classification markers. It was never clear that Clinton was aware of the presence of that marked information, or if the classification marking was clear.

When classified information was clearly involved, Blanton said Clintons briefings were on a different system, a classified Blackberry that was managed by State Department IT people.

Clintons emails included moments when staffers wrote that for them to go into more detail, they would need to switch to a secure classified State Department system.

Moss cautioned that while some documents at Mar-a-Lago were clearly marked as classified, many questions remain, such as where the records were originally located, who boxed them up, when Trump became aware of the existence of the records at Mar-a-Lago, and what, if any, efforts Trump took to rectify the situation once he was informed.

Biden White House Has Not Blocked Pat Cipollone From Testifying Source Says

From CNNs Kaitlan Collins

The Biden White House has not stood in the way of Pat Cipollones testimony, a source familiar with the White Houses thinking tells CNN tonight.

That is in line with President Bidens decision not to assert executive privilege over documents or testimony concerning the committees investigation of the extraordinary circumstances surrounding Jan. 6, 2021, the source said.

Liz Cheney, the committees vice chair, made clear at the end of Tuesdays hearing that the committee wants to hear from Cipollone, former President Trumps White House counsel who was present in the West Wing on Jan. 6, 2021. Cipollone sat for an informal interview in April.

President Donald Trump Inaugural Address FULL SPEECH (C-SPAN)

Trump was the only president to never reach a 50% approval rating in the Gallup poll dating to 1938. The approval ratings showed a record partisan gap: 88 percent among Republicans, 7 percent among Democrats. Until September 2020, the ratings were unusually stable, reaching a high of 49 percent and a low of 35 percent. Trump finished his term with a record-low approval rating of between 29 percent and 34 percent and a record-low average of 41 percent throughout his presidency.

In asking Americans to name the man they admire the most, Trump placed second to Obama in 2017 and 2018, tied with Obama for most admired man in 2019, and was named most admired in 2020. Since started conducting the poll in 1948, Trump is the first elected president not to be named most admired in his first year in office.

A Gallup poll in 134 countries comparing the approval ratings of U.S. leadership between the years 2016 and 2017 found that Trump led Obama in job approval in only 29, most of them non-democracies, with approval of U.S. leadership plummeting among allies and G7 countries. Overall ratings were similar to those in the last two years of the . By mid-2020, only 16% of international respondents to a 13-nation poll expressed confidence in Trump, a lower score than those historically accorded to Russias Vladimir Putin and Chinas Xi Jinping.

Trump Says He Has No Trump Organization Cell Phones And Asks Judge To End Contempt Fines

Former President Donald Trump said he no longer has four cell phones identified by the New York attorney generalâs investigation into the Trump Organizationâs finances but has turned over his personal phone to be searched as he tries to convince a state judge to lift a civil contempt ruling that so far has cost him $140,000.

In an affidavit filed with the court Friday, Trump said he doesnât currently have any phones, computers or electronic devices issued to him by the Trump Organization and that he has authorized his attorneys to search his homes in Bedminster, New Jersey, his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, and his personal residence in Trump Tower for any documents sought by New York Attorney General Letitia Jamesâ subpoena.

Trumpâs filing is his latest effort to try to end a $10,000 per day penalty that has accrued to $140,000. Judge Arthur Engoron previously rebuffed an earlier affidavit from Trump, saying it was âcompletely devoid of any useful detail.â Trump also has appealed the contempt ruling.

In the new filing, Trump said he no longer has a phone given to him by the Trump Organization in 2015, two flip phones, or a Samsung phone he brought with him to the White House that was âtaken from me at some point while I was President.â

House Intel Investigates Trump Jr Email Involving Documents Hacked During Campaign

Editors note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the email was dated Sept. 4, 2016, instead of Sept. 14, 2016. The information was erroneously confirmed by a source, who subsequently sent the actual email to CBS News confirming the Sept. 14 date. The report has been updated to reflect the correct date, and the email is included in this update.

CBS News has confirmed that Donald Trump Jr. received an email in September 2016 offering access to hacked Democratic Party data. The emailed offer, which has been obtained by CBS News, was dated Sept. 14 and was for a decryption key and website address providing access through WikiLeaks for hacked the documents. At that point, however, the offered data was already available publicly online. Congressional investigators are looking into the email exchange. The new email was first reported by CNN, which erroneously said the email was sent on Sept. 4.

Here is the email:

A source who received the email in question tells CBS News there were about 20 people ccd on the email. Their names have been redacted in the above email. The sender thought he had obtained then-candidate Trumps email. But the source says was not a valid email for Mr. Trump.

The WikiLeaks DNC information referred to in the email appears to have been released the day before on Sept. 13, when Wikileaks tweeted the identical link and decryption key referenced in the email:

Donald Trump attacks stupid, terrible

Back in 2015, Trump read aloud Grahams supposed phone number at a South Carolina rally, after Graham called him a jackass for questioning Sen. John McCains war hero status.

Graham later recorded a video with IJReview showing him destroying a cell phone, all set to classical music.

But all thats in the past. Graham reported Tuesday that he heard positive things from Trump about rebuilding the military during their lunch meeting.

I had a great lunch meeting with President Trump today. He is strongly committed to rebuilding our military which is music to my ears, he said. President Trump is in deal-making mode and I hope Congress is like-minded.

Trump Was Reluctant To Hand Over His Android But Did

Trump speaks on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the White House Oval Office on Jan. 28, 2017.

TheTimes in late November, citing Trumps aides, reported that the then president-elect was hesitant to hand over his Android phone.

He is worried, his aides say, that he will not be able to keep his Android phone once he gets to the White House and wonders aloud how isolated he will become and whether he will be able to keep in touch with his friends without it as president, the newspaper reported.

In the weeks leading up to his inauguration, Trump was still using his personal Android and calling back unknown numbers, as the Associated Press reported:

A few hours after President-elect Donald Trump was briefed by intelligence officials about Russian meddling in the election, an Associated Press reporter called his cellphone seeking an interview.

The call went to voicemail and the reporter did not leave a message. About an hour later, Trump called back.

The news outlet reported that Trump on Jan. 19 the day before he took the oath of office told a friend that he had indeed given up his phone, at the request of security agencies.

Key Revelations From The Jan 6 Hearings

Donald Trump delivers closing address during America First summit in Washington watch live

Making a case against Trump. The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack is laying out evidence that could allow prosecutors to indict former President Donald J. Trump, though the path to a criminal trial is uncertain. Here are the main themes that have emerged so far:

A complete dereliction of duty.In the final public hearing of the summer, the panel accused the former president of dereliction of duty for failing to act to stop the Capitol assault. The committee documented how, over 187 minutes, Mr. Trump had ignored pleas to call off the mob and then refused to say the election was over even a day after the attack.

The logs also show Mr. Trump reached out on the morning of Jan. 6 to Mr. Jordan, who had been among those members of Congress organizing objections to Mr. Bidens election on the House floor.

The logs show Mr. Trump and Mr. Jordan spoke from 9:24 a.m. to 9:34 a.m. Mr. Jordan has acknowledged speaking with Mr. Trump on Jan. 6, though he has said he cannot remember how many times they spoke that day or when the calls occurred.

Mr. Trump called Mr. Hawley at 9:39 a.m., and Mr. Hawley returned his phone call. A spokesman for Mr. Hawley said Tuesday that the two men did not connect and did not speak until March. Mr. Hawley had been the first senator to announce he would object to President Bidens victory, and continued his objections even after rioters stormed the building and other senators backed off the plan.

Michael D. Shear contributed reporting.

Are Trump Collectible Coins Worth Anything

Do Trump coins worth any value? According to the makers of the coin, its mostly a token of respect for an earlier POTUS presidency and the tradition. Its not a real coin, David Johnson, chief director and executive vice president at the Phoenix-based company spoke to FOX 10. Its strictly a collectible item. However, as an item that is a collectors item, its value in the future could be higher. We love to buy them as gifts for MAGA-type friends and family and the old-school Republicans haha.

There isnt a set price for Donald Trump coins, as there is no standardized grading system or authentication process. Some collectors believe that the coins are worth little due to their novelty and collectability. There is no official endorsement from Trump or his staff however there is no sign that any amount of money that is spent on the coins will lead to any preferential treatment when it comes to purchasing products or services from Trump-owned businesses. So is it worth shelling out for an item made of brass that may one day end up in an antique cabinet? Its up the buyer on their own to decide.
