Letter To President Trump Regarding Family Separation

Recipient: President Donald Trump

Dear President Trump,

We, the undersigned national, state, and local organizations write to urge you to end the systematic and cruel separation of families apprehended at the U.S. border. Increased family separation at the border comes at a time when immigration enforcement has already torn apart families across the country, at places of worship, schools, and workplaces. Mothers and fathers who have lived in the U.S. for decades are being forced to decide whether they should leave their American children behind in the care of others for a secure and brighter future, or take them with them to a country now foreign to them. Children and young people are having to grow up fast as their mothers and fathers are forcibly taken away by Immigration and Customs Enforcement .

The American Academy of Pediatrics has condemned these policies, saying that highly stressful experiences, like family separation, can cause irreparable harm, disrupting a childs brain architecture and affecting his or her short- and long-term health. This type of prolonged exposure to serious stress known as toxic stress can carry lifelong consequences for children.

Tearing apart families does nothing to make us safer or stronger, and separating children from their parents betrays our deeply held American values.

We demand that you end these callous and cruel policies against immigrants and their families immediately.

Sincerely,

National LGBTQ Task Force

How To Send A Message To The President Online

Letter to President Donald Trump

Contacting the Leader of the Free World is no small feat. Sending a message to the President of the United States , though, might not be a surefire way of contacting him. As youd imagine, hes one of the busiest people on the planet. For that reason, its unlikely that POTUS will receive your message let alone reply to it.

That being said, there are some things you can cover to increase the chances of receiving a reply.

When or how did Melania Trump become a billboard? When I saw the first lady Melania Trump wearing a slogan jacket reading I dont really care do u ?, I can say I wasnt too shocked. Since in life I have always said you lie down with the dogs and youll wake up with the fleas .

Here on this blog I have written several times on politics and am proud to put across my points of view. While I dont claim to be a political pundit I have certain political views and educate myself accordingly.

Here are a list of my political posts in case you want to check them out

For Trump Email Is The New Twitter

By Glenn Thrush

Fridays positive jobs report might have been a day of exclamation points and all-caps self-congratulation for Donald J. Trump if he were A) still president, and B) still allowed to post on Twitter.

Instead, there was a somber tweet from the White House chief of staff, Ron Klain, who downplayed the 379,000 newly created jobs as not good enough, and Mr. Trump himself used a muted megaphone he once eschewed email to address an array of topics tailor-fit for social media.

Despite being delayed by years of litigation and politics by the Democrats, the wall is almost finished and can be quickly completed. Doing so will save thousands of lives, Mr. Trump wrote in an email on Friday, responding to recent White House moves to reverse his immigration and border wall policies.

Keep illegal immigration, crime, and the China Virus out of our country! he added in the email, sent by his post-presidential office.

It is Trumps Twitter feed, only now its my inbox, Rob Tornoe, a reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer, posted on Twitter after the email went out.

The old-is-new email format, which has no character count or content warnings, allows the former president to ramble and speak out as before, with all the same unedited idiosyncrasies of grammar and punctuation intact.

A few hours later, he targeted Karl Rove, a former adviser of President George W. Bush, for writing an op-ed piece calling Mr. Trumps speech at CPAC hollow.

Acosta Grills Yang On New Political Party: Do You Want Trump Back In White House

In advance of the release of Bill Barr’s memoir of his time in the Trump administration on Tuesday, NBC’s Lester Holt sat down with the former attorney general to talk about his time as the nation’s top cop.

1. “He was slow, lethargic, and I realized early on that he never had what it takes to make a great Attorney General.”2. “He became virtually worthless to Law and Order and Election Integrity.”3. “They broke him just like a trainer breaks a horse.”4. “Despite massive amounts of evidence, with far more produced after his leaving, he refused to go after the fraud and irregularities that had so openly taken place in the 2020 Presidential Election.”5. “Even the Mueller investigation, which came out with a finding of NO COLLUSION, should have gone much faster, especially after knowing all of the information that was available and already at their disposal.”6. “As everyone knows, my campaign was SPIED on, and Bill Barr did nothing about it.”7. “I imagine that if the book is anything like him, it will be long, slow and very boring.8. “Now he is groveling to the media, hoping to gain acceptance that he doesn’t deserve.”9. “When I saw that the Department of Justice was not doing their job, I have every legal right to ask them to so, in accordance with the law and the Constitution.”at all,

And This Is Popular With Political Campaigns

Yes. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was the first to effectively employ this system with Hustle, which employed people to send personal text messages to prospective voters. Youve likely seen an increase in volume of text messages from local campaigns during an election or primary.

It turns out, youre more likely to respond to a text message than you are a phone call or email, which often are littered with spam or robocalls.

  • 2Address the president as “Mr. President” or “Madam President.” Should you have the opportunity to speak directly with the president, do not call them by their first or last name. The title of “Mr.” or “Madam” will show your respect for the office while you carry on a conversation with the president.XResearch sourceAdvertisement
  • 3Introduce a third party to the president. Use the phrase “Mr./Madam President, may I present.” In the United States, the president should not be introduced to someone, as this would seem disrespectful. Always introduce the third person to the president.XResearch source
  • For example, be sure to say, “Mr./Madam President, may I present my son Billy.” Do not say, “Billy, I want you to meet the president.”

    Addressing A Former President

  • 1Make your envelope out to “The Honorable” former president. Former presidents do not keep the title of “president” once they leave office . If youâre writing a letter to a former president, the envelope should be addressed to: “The Honorable .”XResearch source
  • For example, you could address a letter to “The Honorable Jimmy Carter” or “The Honorable George Bush.”
  • 2Address written correspondence to “Dear Mr” and their surname. A letter to a former president is slightly less formal than correspondence to a sitting president since the recipient no longer holds the office of president. Do not use the term “honorable” in the introduction or body of your correspondenceâ”honorable” should be used on the envelope only.XResearch source
  • So, your letter would begin: “Dear Mr. Carter” or “Dear Mr. Bush.”
  • 3Address a former president as “Mr.” and their surname in person. An in-person address will also be less formal for a former president than it would for a sitting president. For example, you would address Barack Obama as “Mr. Obama,” not as “Mr. President.”XResearch source
  • The rules about introductions are similarly less formal. As a general sign of respect, though, itâs still probably best to introduce a third party to the former president.
  • What Happens When You Send An Email

In most cases, you will initially receive a canned response from the government. You may get a response from the government office that you emailed, but the response is usually written by staff members.

In rare cases, you may receive an email from the actual government official. Again, this is rare. Given the volume of emails they receive, it is usually not feasible for the official to personally respond to messages.

    Things To Keep In Mind

Obviously, its not as if youre writing an instant message to one of your friends or your parents. As one would imagine, there are layers of security to go through, not to mention the fact that the Presidents staff have more critical matters to attend to, even if were talking about the PR sector.

Clearly, your message to POTUS needs to be well-constructed, following certain guidelines, and pertaining to an important matter. If you just want to say hi, dont bother sending it, although it wont hurt.

Additionally, youre much more likely to receive the response from a Presidents staff member, rather than from the Big Guy himself, so be sure to manage your expectations.

Naturally, threats , are absolutely out of the question. If the secret service, FBI, or any other government agency gets so much as a whiff of potential danger, theyll find you, arrest you, and most likely charge you. The punishment for threatening the President is severe, to say the least.

Hen King Talks Politics: ‘trump Was A Horrible President And Is A Horrible Person’

He may be the master of horror, but in his latest interview, Stephen King devotes much of his time to talking politics.

The notorious author of thrillers like Carrie and The Shining spoke out in a revealing new interview with the Sunday Times, in which he called former President Donald Trump “a horrible president” and a “horrible person.”

“I think he actually engaged in criminal behavior and, certainly, I felt that he was a sociopath who tried to overturn the American democracy not out of any political wish of his own but because he could not admit that he had lost,” said King, 74.

The author previously called out Trump publicly back in 2020, when he criticized the president and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for their initial response to the coronavirus pandemic.

King, who is himself active on Twitter, also spoke to the Sunday Times about the role social media has played amid the current political and cultural climate.

But the writer argued that fears of fascism in the United States have been overblown.

“There is a strong right wing, a political right wing in America, and they have a megaphone in some of the media,” he said. “Theyre not fascists but theyre hard right-wingers. Theyre certainly climate change deniers, so that is a real problem. But, again, its the stuff thats crazy like QAnon that gets the press. You have to remember that Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump by three million votes and that Biden beat Trump by seven million votes.

Emails Show Trump Pressured Justice Dept Over 2020 Election

WASHINGTON During the last weeks of his presidency, Donald Trump and his allies pressured the Justice Department to investigate unsubstantiated claims of widespread 2020 election fraud that even his former attorney general declared without evidence, newly released emails show.

The emails, released Tuesday by the House Oversight Committee, reveal in new detail how Trump, his White House chief of staff and other allies pressured members of the U.S. government to challenge the 2020 election over false claims.

Officials at Homeland Security and the Justice Department, as well as Republican election leaders across the country, repeatedly said there was no pervasive fraud. Former Attorney General William Barr, a longtime Trump loyalist, was among those who said there was no evidence of such fraud.

The emails also show the extent to which Trump worked to enlist then-acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen in his campaigns failing legal efforts to challenge the election result, including suggesting filing a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court.

Those sent to Rosen include debunked conspiracy theories and false information about voter fraud. Trumps lies about the election helped spur on the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 in a failed effort to stop the certification of Joe Bidens victory.

It didnt happen, and on Jan. 3 another Justice official wrote that the cause of justice won.
