What Good Has Trump Done

President Trump Has Taken The Lead On Increasing Hiv Support At Home And Abroad

BET founder: Trump has done ‘positive things’ for the economy

In 2019, during the Presidents State of the Union he announced a goal to end the HIV epidemic in the United States within 10 years. Ending the HIV Epidemic : A Plan For America is an operational plan lead by the Trump Administration to pursue the end of HIV.

The medication, made by Gilead, will donate enough supplies to protect up to 200,000 people a year for the next 11 years. This program is part of a large federal initiative to reduce new HIV infections each year in the U.S by 90% by 2030.

In 2017, the Trump Administration launched the PEPFAR Strategy For Accelerating HIV/AIDS Epidemic Control , which will support efforts in more than 50 countries to ensure access to life-saving services.

As of 2019, the strategy has provided testing services to nearly 79.6 million people, prevented more than 2.6 million babies from being born with HIV, provided care for more than 6.3 million orphans, supported training for more than 280,000 new health workers, and supported antiretroviral treatment to more than 15.7 million people.

When He Tried To Stop Transgender Students From Using School Bathrooms In Line With Their Gender

In February 2017, Trump decided to go after one of the most marginalised groups possible by removing protections for trans students which allowed them to use bathrooms corroborating with their gender identity.

The harm the policy could cause was so evident that even education secretary Betsy DeVos opposed the move because of the effect it would have on trans students.

Trump went ahead with it anyway.

More Than 7 Million Jobs Created Since The Election

In January of 2020, there were about 152 million nonfarm jobs in the country about seven million more than existed in January of 2017, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. But the number of jobs has been growing since 2010. In fact, the country gained more jobs about eight million between 2014 and 2017, the last years of the Obama administration. And since the pandemic began, between 10 million and 20 million jobs have been lost.

Failure: America’s Global Image Is In Shambles

America’s global image declined significantly under Trump, who repeatedly insulted key US allies while cozying up to dictators.

The former president’s tendency to push important allies away and isolate the US, including by pulling out of landmark international agreements like the Paris climate accord, had a palpable impact.

People across the world expressed negative views on Trump. Pew Research Center in January 2020 released a survey of 32 countries that showed a median of 64% said they do not have confidence in Trump to do the right thing in world affairs, and just 29% expressed confidence in the president.

Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic also left the US embarrassed on the world stage, and created a void in global leadership that China has rushed to fill.

Trump Opened A Complaint Platform To Report Censorship On Facebook Twitter And Youtube

Do The MAGA Rallies Do Trump

The Trump administration launched a website in May asking for examples of Americans being censored on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

At the time, the form asked users to submit their name, phone number and whether they are a U.S. citizen, USA TODAY reported. Then it asked for incidents of censorship.

“SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS should advance FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Yet too many Americans have seen their accounts suspended, banned, or fraudulently reported for unclear ‘violations’ of user policies,” the White House website reads.

The website says it is no longer accepting new responses.

When He Accused Democrats Of Treason For Not Applauding His 2018 State Of The Union Address

We all know by now that Trump is a very, very sensitive man and cant take the slightest criticism against him. However, to accuse Democrats of treason for not applauding his 2018 State of the Union address is a bit of a stretch.

Yet thats exactly what he did during a speech in Cincinnati, Ohio in February 2018:

When Was Accused Of Revealing Classified Information To The Russian Ambassador

Said one U.S official to a Washington Post reporter about a meeting Trump had with the Russian ambassador and foreign minister:

“He revealed more information to the Russian ambassador than we have shared with our own allies.”

Apparently Trumps loose lips even jeopardised a mole inside the Islamic State. Awkward!

When He Tweeted That The Fbi Had Failed To Capture The Parkland School Shooter Because They Were Spending Too Much Time On Russia

Election 2020: What has President Trump done to America?

Trumps failure to tackle gun violence in the US is almost as bad as his inability to accept responsibility for anything and point the finger elsewhere.

In the aftermath of the Parkland school shooting in Florida in February 2018, Trump attempted to blame the FBI for the massacre, claiming that they were spending too much time investigating his alleged collusion with Russia.

At a time when his people needed him the most, he opted to look the other way. Shameless.

Tried To Launch A ‘voter Fraud Hotline’ That Was Flooded By Prank Calls

After he lost the election to Joe Biden, Trump did everything in his power to try and overturn the results. One of his efforts included launching a ‘voter fraud hotline’ where Trump supporters could call in and report anything suspicious they had seen at polling stations. This didn’t result in any substantial evidence being brought forward but did see it inundated with some very funny prank calls.

White Nationalists And Charlottesville Rally

On August 13, 2017, Trump condemned violence “on many sides” after a gathering of hundreds of white nationalists in Charlottesville, Virginia, the previous day turned deadly. A white supremacist drove a car into a crowd of counter-protesters, killing one woman and injuring 19 others. According to Sessions, that action met the definition of domestic terrorism. During the rally there had been other violence, as some counter-protesters charged at the white nationalists with swinging clubs and mace, throwing bottles, rocks, and paint. Trump did not expressly mention Neo-Nazis, white supremacists, or the alt-right movement in his remarks on August 13, but the following day condemned “the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups“. On August 15, he again blamed “both sides”.

Accomplishment: Defeating Isis’s Caliphate And Killing Abu Bakr Al

A Bitter bread on Twitter: " @scottmarks @stillunwoke17 Yep. Good buddy ...

ISIS shocked the world in 2014 when it took over a large swath of territory across Iraq and Syria and declared a caliphate.

The terrorist group’s territorial holdings were the basis for its so-called caliphate, and provided it will a major base of operations to conduct attacks across the world.

After a five-year effort led by the US, ISIS’s caliphate was finally defeated in March 2019.

Trump at times falsely claimed that ISIS is totally defeated, embellishing the extent of the US military’s success against the terrorist organization during his presidency. Though the terrorist group has lost its territory its so-called caliphate it’s still estimated to have up to 18,000 fighters in Iraq and Syria.

In late October, a US raid led to the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Baghdadi was the world’s most wanted terrorist up to that point and his death represented a major blow to the terrorist group.

“Last night, the United States brought the world’s No. 1 terrorist leader to justice,” Trump said at the time. “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead.”

“Capturing or killing him has been the top national security priority of my administration,” he added.

He Signed A Bill This Year Allowing Some Drug Imports From Canada So That Prescription Prices Would Go Down

President Trump has signed a series of executive orders aimed at making it easier for states to import cheaper drugs from Canada. But it is far from clear whether these executive orders will succeed in that aim. This proposal bears no resemblance to Mr. Trumps 2016 promise to use the buying power of the federal government to negotiate lower prices for drugs for Medicare patients, which would save hundreds of billions of dollars over a decade. Mr. Trump has not kept that promise. If he were serious about doing so, he would push Republicans in the Senate to pass the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act, which Democrats passed last year. Theres no evidence that he has done so.

Housing And Urban Policy

In December 2017, The Economist described the Department of Housing and Urban Development , led by Ben Carson, as “directionless”. Most of the top HUD positions were unfilled and Carson’s leadership was “inconspicuous and inscrutable”. Of the policies HUD was enacting, The Economist wrote, “it is hard not to conclude that the governing principle at HUD is to take whatever the Obama administration was doing, and do the opposite.” HUD scaled back the enforcement of fair housing laws, halted several fair housing investigations started by the Obama administration and removed the words “inclusive” and “free from discrimination” from its mission statement. The administration designated Lynne Patton, an event planner who had worked on the Trump campaign and planned Eric Trump’s wedding, to lead HUD’s New York and New Jersey office .

Shaking The Foreign Policy Consensus

Donald Trump rejected the establishment consensus that the United States has the right and duty to guard international order by force.

The world contains a lot of killers, he noted soon after taking office. You think our countrys so innocent? Pundits howled in outrage. That they included champions of the war in Iraq and the global war on terrorism suggested that Trump had a point. After decades of massive and routinized killing sold as virtue, Trump at least recognized that U.S. warmaking looked like liberation principally to a small cadre in Washington.

This recognition produced a few genuine policy achievements. Doubting that U.S. military operations in Afghanistan were crucial to international stability, Trump made a deal with the Taliban to put Americas war there on a path to termination that his successor is now completing. He rightly embarked on diplomacy with North Korea, despite bungling negotiations. He did not start any new wars a low but significant bar that George W. Bush, invader of Iraq, and Barack Obama, bomber of Libya, failed to clear.

Trump stripped American power bare, shedding its cloak of piety. His successors must decide whether to dress it back up or scale it down. After Trump, the latter seems both more possible and more urgent.

Trump Made Vaccines Voluntary Not Mandatory The Military Will Check Purity And Distribute Vaccines

Donald Trump compilation: The 90 most shocking things he’s said during election campaign

Every state in the U.S. requires children to be vaccinated against certain diseases as a condition for attending school. Those laws have been put in place by state governments, not the federal government.

For example, all states require vaccinations against DTaP, MMR and polio to attend any school, while the HPV, influenza and Hepatitis A and B vaccines are required by some states, but not all.

All school immunization laws offer exemptions to children for medical reasons, and 45 states plus Washington, D.C., grant exemptions for religious reasons, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Just 15 states allow exemptions for philosophical reasons.

More:Scientists worry FDA could be pressured to approve COVID vaccine before it’s fully tested

Its possible this claim stemmed from comments the president made at a May 15 press briefing regarding the production of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Were looking for a full vaccine for everyone that wants to get it, Trump said. Not everybody is going to want to get it.

At that same press conference, Trump indicated the military may be involved in the distribution of the vaccine, asserting that once the vaccine is ready the government will deploy every plane, truck and soldier required to help distribute it to the American people as quickly as possible.

What Donald Trump Has Accomplished As President

On the cusp of the final debate between President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden on Thursday night, many are expecting the records of both candidates to be raked over throughout the 90-minute head-to-head.

According to a list of topics announced by debate moderator Kristen Welker, Trump and Biden will be quizzed on race in America, climate change, American families, national security and leadership when they appear at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

It is also likely that topics not on the approved list will come up over the course of the showdownparticularly the coronavirus pandemic, the state of U.S. employment and Hunter Biden‘s business dealings.

President Trump will be eager to defend his record over the past four years, and could be expected to tout his supposed achievements on matters of foreign policy, job creation and other economic matters during the course of his first term in the White House.

Here are five of Trump’s key accomplishments in the eyes of the administration, the president and his supporters.

As A Result Of The Republican Tax Bill Small Businesses Will Have The Lowest Top Marginal Tax Rate In More Than 80 Years

Not really.According to the Tax Foundation, the lowest top marginal rate in the past 80 years was 28 percent in the 1980s, although a claw back provision in the 1980s increased the top marginal rate to 33 percent for taxpayers with incomes over certain thresholds. Under current law, the top marginal rate is 37 percent, but pass-through businesses can receive additional tax breaks to lower their top marginal rate to 29.6 percent.

When He Seemingly Told Police Officers To Rough Up Suspects

Here’s the president of the United States encouraging police officers to be rough with people they arrest https://t.co/iLzoUEY89e David Mack 1501267005

In 2017, Trump gave a speech in Long Island to members of the Suffolk County Police Department. In it, he seemed to encourage roughing up suspects, saying:

“When you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head, you know, the way you put their hand over, like, don’t hit their head and they’ve just killed somebody. Don’t hit their head. I said, you can take the hand away, okay?”

He doubled down, saying Dont be too nice. The remarks drew such criticism that Suffolk County even tweeted a rejoinder.

As a department, we do not and will not tolerate roughing up of prisoners. Suffolk County Police Department 1501275200

Tax Cut And Jobs Act Deregulation And National Debt

TRUMP HAS DONE SOMETHING THAT BUSH COULD NEVER DO! TruthExaminer MAKE ...

Even before the virus further exacerbated U.S. income inequality, some experts say Trumps economic policies favored the wealthy and left the poor and middle class behind.

His Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in December 2017 provided major tax breaks to corporations and wealthy individuals. The policy, among other things, reduced the corporate income tax rate from 35% to 21%.

Frankel called the policy beyond ironic for a president who campaigned in 2016 on being the champion of the working man or working person and campaigned on draining the swamp in Washington.

Shierholz said this policy absolutely increased inequality and the vast majority of the benefits of those tax cuts went to the already very wealthy.

The economists also noted that the policy came at a time when unemployment was relatively low and the economy in good shape.

Thats not the time to be giving away trillions of dollars to the wealthy, Frankel said. When you have a bad shock like the global financial crisis of 2008-09 or like the coronavirus crisis that were still going through thats the time to increase government spending and expansionary fiscal policy, but you lose the ability to do that if you gave it away.

NYUs Bowmaker noted that some can make the case that the corporate tax rate was a little bit too high and would welcome the tax cuts.

Despite his goal, the debt has ballooned under Trump. The total national debt has skyrocketed by more than $7 trillion during Trumps tenure.
