Can Trump Run For President In 2024
Without giving too much away, Trump has named a number of strong Republican contenders for the 2024 bid, excluding his former presidential right-hand Mike Pence.
Constitutionally, Trump can launch a second White House bid after losing in 2020 – his team has previously hinted that he could seek another term in 2024.
The 22nd Amendment states: “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.”
The outgoing president was met by a 21 gun salute along with cheers from his family and supporters as he landed at Joint Base Andrews.
Taking the podium as Hail to the Chief blared, he said it’s been an “incredible four years” and insisted “we’ll be back“.
The Republican was met by chants of “USA, USA” and “thank you Trump” as attendees to his farewell waved US for flags.
Trump said: “I will always fight for you, I will be watching, I will be listening. The future of this country has never been better.”
He added: “Have a good life, we’ll see you soon” before leaving stage with YMCA blaring over the loud speakers.
If Trump decides to run in 2024, the Republican would be following the precedent set by Grover Cleveland.
He lost his re-election to Republican Benjamin Harrison in 1884 and four years later decided to run for president again.
Trump Just Helped Launch A Post
Former Trump administration officials have created a national faith advisory board to continue their work outside the White House, and Trump gave the group his blessing, calling into a conference call announcing the board last Thursday.
On the call, Trump criticized President Joe Bidens handling of religious issues and talked up actions he took in office that are popular with evangelicals, like formally recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. One of my greatest honors was fighting for religious liberty and for defending the Judeo-Christian values and principles of our nations founding, Trump said according to Religion News Service.
The National Faith Advisory Board was co-founded by Paula White, a televangelist and former adviser to the Trump administrations Faith and Opportunity Initiative, as well as former Office of Public Liaison officials Jennifer Korn and Amanda Robbins Vargo.
How Old Would Trump Be In 2024
Trump doesn’t exactly have age on his sidehe would be 78 in 2024. Biden is also 78 and managed to beat Trump despite the sleepy Joe barbs. If anything, Trumps frequent barbs seemed to have worked in Bidens favor. While Trumps age in 2024 would be similar to Bidens current age, we also need to consider whether he would be physically fit to take part in the 2024 election.

When Will Trump Announce His 2024 Run
Trump said hed wait until after the 2022 midterms to announce a 2024 bid, according to Fox News.
- I am certainly thinking about it and well see, Trump said. I think a lot of people will be very happy, frankly, with the decision, and probably will announce that after the midterms.
Trump said waiting until after the 2022 midterms makes the most sense.
- It doesnt mean I will, Trump told Fox News. Its probably appropriate, but a lot of people are waiting for that decision to be made.
- He said, a lot of great people who are thinking about running are waiting for that decision, because theyre not going to run if I run.
What Have Republicans Said About Mr Trump Running In 2024
Until a successor emerges to lead Republicans likely not until the resolution of the 2024 Republican primary Donald Trump remains the de facto head of a party that he has reshaped in his image.
Mr Trumps former chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, said in an online interview with the Institute of International and European Affairs he could see Mr Trump running again.
I would absolutely expect the president to stay involved in politics. I would absolutely put him on the short-list of people who are likely to run in 2024.
He doesnt like losing, he said.
Republicans outside the White House on Saturday warned that Mr Trump could tarnish his legacy if he does not eventually make a graceful exit, and erode his future political power.
It will be impossible for him to run again in 2024 if hes seen as a sore loser, a Congressional Republican source told Reuters.
Even in defeat, Donald Trump has exceeded expectations and helped other Republicans do the same, said GOP consultant Michael Steel, who has worked on Capitol Hill and for campaigns.
He will remain a powerful force within the party.

Melania Trump Isnt Keen On Donald Running In 2024 But That Wont Stop Him
The former president is thinking about standing again. While Id love to laugh at the idea of him winning a second time, the polls offer a heavy note of caution
Say what you like about Melania Trump, the woman is consistent. She displayed zero interest in being first lady in 2016, and it seems she has zero interest in being first lady ever again. According to mysterious sources who recently spoke to CNN about Melanias mindset, she has no desire to ever return to the White House. Should her bitter half decide he wants to prove the losers and haters wrong and run for president in 2024, she wont be accompanying him on the campaign trail. Instead, CNN reports, one of his adult sons partners will probably do the honours.
Could Donald Trump really run for president again? In an with Fox, he said he was 100% thinking about running again. In May he told the rightwing media personality Candace Owens that people are going to be very, very happy when I make a certain announcement. And just last week it was reported that congressman Jim Jordan said Trump was ready to announce after all of this craziness in Afghanistan.
But anything could happen in the next few years. At Trumps inauguration, Melania reportedly masterminded Operation Block Ivanka to ensure the presidents daughter didnt steal her thunder. If Melanias serious about not wanting a second go at being first lady, perhaps its time for Operation Block Donald.

Emboldened ‘unchanged’ Trump Looks To Re
The set of advisers around Trump now is a familiar mix of his top 2020 campaign aides and others who have moved in and out of his orbit over time. They include Miller, Susie Wiles, Bill Stepien, Justin Clark, Corey Lewandowski and Brad Parscale.
While his schedule isn’t set yet, according to Trump’s camp, his coming stops are likely to include efforts to help Ohio congressional candidate Max Miller, a former White House aide looking to win a primary against Rep. Anthony Gonzales, who voted to impeach Trump this year Jody Hice, who is trying to unseat fellow Republican Brad Raffensperger as Georgia secretary of state after Raffensperger defied Trump and validated the state’s electoral votes and Alabama Senate candidate Mo Brooks, according to Trump’s camp.
Trump’s ongoing influence with Republican voters helps explain why most GOP officeholders stick so closely to him. Republicans spared him a conviction in the Senate after the House impeached him for stoking the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, House GOP leaders have made it clear that they view his engagement as essential to their hopes of retaking the chamber, and Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., was deposed as Republican Conference Chair this year over her repeated rebukes of Trump.
Those numbers suggest that Trump could be in a strong position to win a Republican primary but lose the general election in 3½ years. A former Trump campaign operative made that case while discussing Trump’s ambitions.

Donald Trump Said This Could Prevent Him From Running For President Again
Since Joe Biden took over the American presidency in January 2021, former President Donald Trump has been teasing the public about potentially running for the presidency yet again in 2024. For months, Trump has been speaking about the joy his fans, followers, and political constituents will feel when he makes his “announcement.” However, Trump has only yet to not-so-subtly hint at what this announcement might be.
Many of those close to Trump claim that he is setting himself up for a “turnkey operation” once he makes the announcement that he will be running for president once again. According to Politico, the evidence of this turnkey operation lies in the fact that Trump has piled new rallies onto his increasingly full plate . Additionally, Trump’s Save America PAC has hired two political experts from Iowa who will be charged with “advancing Save America’s goals of electing strong, pro-Trump, America First conservatives,” per Politico. Hmm.
Despite the fact that only one former president was able to win a second term following a loss , Trump’s senior aide, Jason Miller, is confident that his boss is going to face this difficult task head-on in 2024. “I would say somewhere between 99 and 100 percent,” Jason Miller told Cheddar earlier this month . “I think he is definitely running in 2024.” So what could halt all of Trump’s apparent momentum?
What Did Trump Say In His 2021 Cpac Speech
During his 2021 CPAC speech, Donald Trump appeared to gee up his supporters as he repeated his unsubstantiated claims that the 2020 election was “rigged.”
After he criticized tech giants like , Facebook, and , he concluded: “We must pour every ounce of our energy into winning a historic election in the midterms.
“Our country will soon stand proudly for free and strong and proper elections again.
“We will take back the House, we will take back the Senate and then… we will take back that glorious White House.”
“We will make America great again.”

The 2024 election is still 1,155 days away — I counted — but, according to one senior aide to Donald Trump, the former president is all-but-certain to run again.
“Trump is confiding in allies that he intends to run again in 2024 with one contingency: that he still has a good bill of health, according to two sources close to the former president. That means Trump is going to hang over the Republican Party despite its attempts to rebrand during his exile and its blockade of a Trump-centric investigation into January’s insurrection.”
What Has Trumps Campaign Said About Running In 2024
It was reported that “preliminary planning” had started to kick off a new Trump bid but no further decisions have been made, report CBS.
The presidents former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon claimed that Trump would not miss a shot to run for office again if given the chance.
Bannon told The Australian: “I’ll make this prediction right now: If for any reason the election is stolen from or in some sort of way Joe Biden is declared the winner, Trump will announce he’s going to run for re-election in 2024,” he said.
“You’re not going to see the end of Donald Trump.”
Some government officials even suggested that the GOP would not function or exist if Trump is not president.
Former Trump Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur said: “Whether in three days or in three years, the Republican Party will have to grapple with the basic question: Does the GOP exist without Trump? Not his message, not his policies, but Trump himself.
“It’s like asking if the John Wick franchise works without Keanu Reeves.”
Bryan Lanza, former communications director for the president’s transition team, said he can “make a strong case to run again.”.
Lanza added that Trump “would be younger than Biden is now” if he ran again in 2024.
Biden took office at 78 years old.
Speaking on the Today program, Lanza said: “Biden will have the opportunity to guide this country out of Covid, and well see what his successes and failures are.”

Why Joe Biden Should Want Donald Trump To Run Again
Though some Democrats might want Trump to disappear from the political landscape entirely, there is an argument as to why they and Biden should actually be hoping he does become the GOP candidate again.
While some polls and bookmakers have tipped in Trump’s favor should there be another clash between the pairrunning against the former president, or an acolyte of his, could prove a tactical boost for Biden in some ways.
Biden’s approval poll numbers have slipped and he may be a somewhat harder sell to the American public come 2024 if his issues don’t subside.
If Biden’s popularity makes it a struggle to encourage votes for himself, he might be better placed to urge action against an opponent. Trump continues to be a divisive figure and could prove the perfect adversary for such a plan.
Speaking to Newsweek, David Andersen, associate professor in U.S. politics at Durham University, said he had some reservations as to whether Biden will definitely runbut said regardless of that decision, Democrats should want Trump to be in the race next time out.
Andersen also suggested whoever does run for the GOP will likely be tied to Trump, even if it is not the man himselfagain presenting a space for the Democrats to expose.
