The Journals op-ed piece makes the case for Judge Kevin Brobson, a GOP nominee running for Pennsylvanias Supreme Court. He currently sits on an appeals bench, a step below the states high court.

The opinion piece states that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court needs an injection of judicial restraint after it carved out an exception due to COVID-19 to accept ballots for the 2020 election that arrived three days late.

The board goes on to state that these votes were segregated from the final tally and that they did not matter because the president won the state by more than 80,000 votes. However, the piece argues, if the race had been closer, the states presidential election could have been determined by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The former president in his letter argued that the election was rigged, a common refrain from Trump, who has also repeatedly alleged that the 2020 election was tainted by widespread voter fraud.

The former president went on to provide a bulleted list of points alleging foul play in the election.

Lombardo said the case press conference was an inappropriate venue to speculate on that or opine on that.

President Donald J. Trump took more than 700 pages of classified documents, including some related to the nations most covert intelligence operations, to his private club and residence in Florida when he left the White House in January 2021, according to a letter that the National Archives sent to his lawyers this year.

The letter, dated May 10 and written by the acting U.S. archivist, Debra Steidel Wall, to one of Mr. Trumps lawyers, Evan Corcoran, described the state of alarm in the Justice Department as officials there began to realize how serious the documents were.

It also suggested that top department prosecutors and members of the intelligence community were delayed in conducting a damage assessment about the documents removal from the White House as Mr. Trumps lawyers tried to argue that some of them might have been protected by executive privilege.

The letter was disclosed on Monday night by one of Mr. Trumps allies in the news media, John Solomon, who also serves as one of the former presidents representatives to the archives. The archives then released the letter on Tuesday.

So What Was The Problem

The volume of messages likely tripped up the system. But the potential issue may have been that the messages didnât include clear opt-out language, and the senders may not have gained consent ahead of time.

While the carriers havenât spoken about the incident, the CTIA, the trade group that represents the US wireless industry, made clear that recipients must be able to unsubscribe from unsolicited texts.

âWe expect all senders â whether airlines, schools, banks or campaigns â to include clear opt-out language and gain prior consent before sending a text,â said a spokesman for the organization. âThese simple steps help protect consumers from spam, and maintain text messaging as a trusted medium for everyone.â

Trump Lawyer: No Serious Person Should Believe Americas Elections Can Be Rigged

Even as he revealed the contents of the letter, Donald Trump continued to claim that the election was rigged but he now has one less person fighting in his corner. Sidney Powell, who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Rudy Giuliani to support the Trump White House claims that the election had been stolen, is trying to get a lawsuit against her dismissed by saying that no one should have believed her when she said the election was stolen .

Dominion Voting Systems, which oversees the election systems in Georgia, is suing Powell for $1.3 billion in damages. In its suit, it said instead of retracting her claims of voter fraud, Powell had doubled down because they had evidence of voter fraud . In their court filing, Powells lawyers say that There is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even rig Americas elections, in part because they are so decentralized and the number of votes that are cast.

Several thousand lawyers are calling for Powell to be investigated. However the case turns out, we know one thing for certain: Trump wont be calling Biden to chat about the outcome.

How Do These Mass Text Messages Work

Political campaigns tap companies such as Hustle or RumbleUp that employ hundreds of people who each send thousands of text messages to potential voters. Theyre exactly like the text messages that you or I send to our friends and family, and are categorized as peer-to-peer, or P2P messages. Thats different from whats known as application-to-peer, or A2P, messages, which are more formal blast text messages.

Since P2P messages are normally supposed to be more limited exchanges between individuals, systems may flag accounts that send too many messages. If, for instance, you send more than 1,000 messages in a day, those messages will likely get blocked.

Companies will work with the carriers ahead of time to get prior approval to send these mass messages.

Donald Trump: Life In Brief

President Trump’s Full, Unedited Interview With Meet The Press | NBC News

Donald Trump at the age of 70 won his first bid for public office, to be elected the 45th president of the United States, in an upset victory on November 8, 2016. He is the fifth US president to take office despite losing the popular vote, having prevailed in Electoral College votes over Democrat Hillary Clinton. A real estate mogul and reality television star, Trump is the first president without previous service in either elective office or the military, as well as the oldest and among the richest to take office. He holds another distinction as well: Trump took office on January 20, 2017, with the lowest public approval ratings of any president since polling began after his campaign and transition were dogged with allegations of sexual improprieties and Russian meddling in the campaign on his behalf.

Trump had dabbled in politics for decades. He contributed to candidates of both parties, registered variously as a Democrat, Republican, and independent, and flirted with running for president in 1988, 2000, 2004, and 2012. In winning the Republican nomination and presidency in 2016, he vanquished two political dynasties, Bush and Clinton, and the billionaire did so as the unlikely tribune of frustrated working-class voters. Trump said during the campaign that his wealth exceeded $10 billion. However, the accuracy of his claim could not be determined because Trump is the first president in four decades to refuse to release federal income tax returns.
