In a Washington Post interview published Wednesday, Reid initially asserted that Nevada denied the Republican nominee a gaming license for the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. The hotel, unlike many major hotels in Las Vegas, does not offer gambling.

I may not be an expert on a lot of stuff, but Im an expert on gaming licenses, Reid, a former chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission, told Post reporter Ben Terris. You cant have filed 14 bankruptcies, cheat people out of stuff. In gaming circles, if somebody does something bad once, you cant get a gaming license. Hes done something bad his whole life.

Terris story notes that Trump did, in fact, secure a gaming license from the state in 2004, but has chosen not to use it. Reid, however, insisted that the state would not allow Trump to build a casino now, even if the real estate mogul wanted to do so.

Reid doubled down on the line of attack in a Senate floor speech on Thursday, though it was unclear if he was maintaining that Trump would still be prevented from entering the casino industry in Nevada.

Reid told The Washington Post he stands by the attack on Romney.

Seems about half the price of other five star places in vegas.. good reviews and the rooms look nice. what am I missing?

Well, it’s not a “five Star” property by any stretch of the imagination, for starters. Next, the location, it isn’t directly on the Strip. Then the fact there’s no casino on the property. It doesn’t have a big pool complex. And it lacks the 15-20 bars and restaurants that most Strip places have.

Other than that it’s a good option. 🙂

Ive stayed there about 6 times. Its not a 5 star. It has no casino and its only got 1 restaurant. Many people going to LAs Vegas want a casino and a resort. I stay at Trump because its not a touristy resort. Its a boutique hotel that is easy to get in and out of.

It’s not exactly on the strip, valet only parking, only one restaurant and bar , no casino or any other entertainment. It’s a nice hotel, depending on what you want from a Vegas vacation / experience. We enjoyed it for 3 days but probably would not return. Plus trains run right outside blowing their horns at night.

Do they charge for the parking?

No casino, no vibe, no bars. It’s surrounded by freeways, 1/2 built casino and a mall. 15 min walk to nearest casino.
