What Is Trump’s Approval Rating At This Time

Trump Approval Rating Hits All

Trump sees highest approval rating yet as US economy booms

President Trumps approval rating hit an all-time high in a Gallup survey released on Friday, with 49 percent of respondents approving of his performance versus 47 percent disapproving.

The results continue a wide swing in polling for Trump, who garnered a 43 percent approval rating two weeks ago.

Most of the variation in Trumps recent job approval rating is among independents, Gallupsaid. In the current poll, 47% of independents approve of the job he is doing as president, the highest Gallup has measured for the group to date. 93% of Republicans and 8% of Democrats approve of the job Trump is doing.

However, RealClearPolitics polling averages place the president at 44.3 percent approval versus 50.6 percent disapproval as of Friday. Averages of general election polls give Trump 42.1 percent to Joe Bidens 47.4 percent.

Last week officials including Trump-campaign manager Brad Parscale, adviser Jared Kushner, and Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel presented the president with internal campaign polls showing him falling behind Biden in key swing states, the Washington Post reported. Advisers showed Trump the polls as part of an effort to convince him to stop or scale back his presence in the daily White House coronavirus briefings.

Germanys Leadership Sets A New High Bar For Approval

In addition to asking about U.S. leadership each year, Gallup also asks the world about the leadership of other global powers, including Germany, China and Russia.

Chancellor Angela Merkels likely last full year in office ended differently from Trumps. Germany not only remained the top-rated global power for the fourth year in a row, but it also broke all previous records. In 2020, median approval of Germanys leadership across 108 countries and territories stood at a record-high 52%.

Line graph. Trend line for global approval ratings of the leadership of the U.S., Germany, Russia and China from 2007 through 2020.

The approval ratings of the U.S., China and Russia continued to cluster together in the lower 30s in 2020. However, Russia, for the first time, edged out both the U.S. and China, with a median approval rating of 34%. China and the U.S. tied for last place, with median approval ratings of 30%. Chinas rating in 2020 was not much different from the 32% in 2019 and in line with measures over the past several years.

Gallup will publish an update on how all four countries looked in the eyes of the world in early 2022.

Trump says he is beyond seriously considering 2024 presidential run

Donald Trumps popularity among registered Republicans has fallen in the 100 days since the end of his presidency, according to a recent poll.

The NBC News poll found that Republican support for the party was greater than the support for the former president, who was favoured by 44 per cent of Republicans.

The figure for registered Republicans in favour of the party over the former president, in comparison, was at 50 per cent.

It was the first time in almost two years that support for the Republican party was greater than that for Mr Trump, NBC News reported, and the first time support for the GOP reached 50 per cent against the former president.

Among all respondents to the poll, Mr Trump was favourable for 32 per cent, and unfavourable for 55 per cent a slight worsening of Januarys figures, when the former president was 40 per cent favourable and 53 percent unfavourable among all registered voters.

When compared to the poll for November, Mr Trump was also 9 per cent less favourable and 2 per cent more unfavourable among all respondents to the NBC News poll.

In fact, a number of congressional Republicans have visited Mar-a-Lago to meet with the former president, as well as to seek his endorsement, in the 100 days since Joe Bidens presidency began.

Among all adults, as few as 21 per cent said so.

Trump Ends With Weakest Average Approval Rating Since Truman

President Trumps approval rating has dropped to 34% in a Gallup poll released Monday, the low point of a presidency that already had the weakest average approval rating of any of his predecessors since the survey began in the 1940s.

The new Gallup numbers, based on a poll that began just before the assault on the Capitol on Jan. 6, show Trumps approval rating falling 12 percentage points since before the Nov. 3 election.

The drop mirrors other polls that show a significant loss of support in the final two weeks of his presidency, which included not only the riot he egged on but the unprecedented second impeachment. The RealClearPolitics average of polls shows Trump with a 39.8% approval rating, down 4 percentage points since the Capitol attack.

Gallups numbers give the most historical perspective, measuring Trump against his last 12 predecessors, going back to Harry S Truman. Trumps final approval rating of 34% is the same received by Presidents George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter in their final Gallup polls. Truman was the lowest at 32%.

President Barack Obama left office with a 59% approval rating.

Trumps average approval rating across his term, 41.1%, is the lowest measured by Gallup, 4 percentage points lower than Truman.

But his standing took a hit last summer, following the nationwide protests sparked by the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Presidents With The Lowest Approval Ratings

Since the introduction of the presidential job approval system by George Gallup in the 1930s, US citizens have the opportunity to express their approval or disapproval of how a certain president performs their duties. Though the opinion polls conducted are majorly subjective, they give a range of the popularity the president has among the citizens. The ratings of presidents have varied from approval to disapproval during their terms in office. While ratings are expected to fall during scandalous moments, ratings can also rise.

A Key Question Moving Forward: Is Trumps Grip On The Gop Stronger Than His Bases

An odd fight broke out earlier this week that may well have escaped your notice. A former senior member of Donald Trumps administration released the results of polling arguing that the former presidents grip on the Republican base has weakened. Trump and his team pushed back hard, but that was largely ignored because of the release of the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial and Trumps diminished voice in the public sphere.

The argument made by a super PAC associated with former national security adviser John Bolton centered on the extent to which Republican voters were still likely to follow Trumps political lead. The desired outcome here is obvious: Bolton, who became a vocal Trump critic, wants to suggest to Republicans that the political cost of bucking Trump has faded. Ergo, the poll.

It centered on three points: that Trumps favorability has fallen, that his endorsement isnt critical and that many Republicans dont plan to support him in a possible 2024 bid. Each of those arguments, though, isnt very strong. The favorability drop compares two polls and shows a small shift from very favorable views to somewhat favorable. The endorsement point leverages a format would you be more or less likely to vote for a candidate endorsed by Trump, etc. that is notoriously iffy.

The 2024 polling still shows Trump at 50 percent among Republican voters, 39 points above the second-place contender. Not exactly a weak position in a crowded field.

Us President Donald Trump Will Leave The White House This Week With The Lowest Approval Rating Of His Presidency A Gallup Poll Showed On January 18 2021

Trump’s approval rating drops 6 points in new poll l ABCNews

US President Donald Trump will leave the White House this week with the lowest approval rating of his presidency, with just 34 percent of Americans supporting the job he has done, a Gallup poll showed Monday.

Gallup noted that Trumpâs average approval rating during his one-term presidency was 41 per cent, four points lower than any of his predecessors since the polling group has been gathering data.

Trumpâs job approval had dipped to 35 per cent in previous polls, most notably after he failing to condemn a violent gathering of white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017.

The last poll of the Trump presidency was taken on the week of January 4-11, which covered the storming of the US Capitol building by Trump supporters trying to overturn the certification of the election won by Joe Biden, whose victory Trump has consistently denied.

His all-time high rating was in early 2020, when he was facing an impeachment in the Senate on charges of trying to push Ukraine into helping him smear Biden and during the early stages of the pandemic, when Americans believed he was responding well to the virus that has now killed 398,000 people in the country.

Polls Put Trumps Approval Rating Lower

Despite the recent decline in Biden’s approval, Trump’s ratings were lower during his time in office.

“Biden’s approval rating has clearly taken a turn for the worse in the past several weeks, but he is still faring better than Trump at this point in their presidencies,” Burden said. “Trump had one of the lowest and steadiest approval ratings of any modern president.”

FiveThirtyEight put the polling average for Trump’s approval rating at 38.8% on Sept. 9, 2017, his first year in office. The lowest point of his term came on Dec. 16, 2017, with an average approval rate of 36.4%.

This claim is also wrong looking only at the YouGov poll.

YouGov reported Trumps approval rating never increased far above 40% and reached a term low of 34% in a poll conducted Nov. 10-14, 2017.

In other words, Trump’s low is well below Biden’s current level in YouGov polling.

According to Gallup, Trumps approval rating ranged between 34% and 49% over the course of his presidency. Trump hit the lower end of that range in January, following the insurrection at the Capitol.

Trumps Popularity Slips In Latest Military Times Poll And More Troops Say Theyll Vote For Biden

The latest Military Times poll shows a continued decline in active-duty service members views of President Donald Trump and a slight but significant preference for former Vice President Joe Biden in the upcoming November election among troops surveyed.

The results, collected before the political conventions earlier this month, appear to undercut claims from the president that his support among military members is strong thanks to big defense budget increases in recent years and promised moves to draw down troops from overseas conflict zones.

But the Military Times Polls, surveying active-duty troops in partnership with the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University, have seen a steady drop in troops opinion of the commander in chief since his election four years ago.

In the latest results based on 1,018 active-duty troops surveyed in late July and early August nearly half of respondents had an unfavorable view of the president, compared to about 38 percent who had a favorable view. Questions in the poll had a margin of error of up to 2 percent.

Among all survey participants, 42 percent said they strongly disapprove of Trumps time in office.

Even with the steady decline, Trumps popularity in the poll remains better than former President Barack Obama. Obama had a 36 percent favorable rating and a 52 percent unfavorable rating in a January 2017 Military Times poll.

United States Presidential Approval Rating

This article or section appears to be slanted towards recent events. Please try to keep recent events in historical perspective and add more content related to non-recent events.

In the United States, presidential job approval ratings were first conducted by George Gallup to gauge public support for the president of the United States during their term. An approval rating is a percentage determined by polling which indicates the percentage of respondents to an opinion poll who approve of a particular person or program. Typically, an approval rating is given to a politician based on responses to a poll in which a sample of people are asked whether they approve or disapprove of that particular political figure. A question might ask: Do you approve or disapprove of the way that the current president is handling their job as president?

Like most surveys that measure opinions, individual poll results may be inaccurate. Many unscientific approval rating systems exist that show inaccurate statistics. Examples that self select, such as online questions are of this type however, the aggregate approval rating is generally accepted by statisticians, as a statistically valid indicator of the comparative changes in the popular United States mood regarding a president.

Trumps Approval Rating Among Republicans Is Not As High As He Claims

Donald Trump

First off, Trumps approval rating among Republicans isnt the 94 percent he claims its actually about 10 points lower. The Washington Post provided an overview of the relevant polling last month, after Trump posted a tweet on August 23 touting the fake Republican approval number he loves to cite:

A Monmouth University poll released Thursday found 84 percent of Republicans approve of Trumps job performance, while an AP-NORC poll found that 79 percent do. His highest recent approval mark among fellow Republicans was 88 percent in a Fox News poll of registered voters earlier this month.

Trumps claim of 94 percent approval among Republicans is also higher than in a Zogby Analytics poll released earlier this month that Trump has touted. That firm, whose surveys do not rely on a random sample of U.S. voters and whose pre-election polls have often been inaccurate, put Trumps approval rating among Republicans at 86 percent.

In short, its unclear where Trump is getting his 94% number from. But whatever its origins, it is not coming from a reputable source.
