What Is Critical Race Theory Explaining The Discipline That Texas Governor Wants To Abolish
Critical race theory is a university-level academic framework that analyzes intersections between race and law and experts say it is not taught in K-12 public Texas schools. Texas lawmakers passed a law last year limiting how race and current events are discussed in public schools. They referred to it as the critical race theory bill, even though the term does not appear in the legislation.
Trump also said teachers shouldnt be allowed to teach transgender. Florida lawmakers passed a bill this year that critics dubbed Dont Say Gay for its restrictions on teaching about sexual orientation and gender identity. Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said he wanted to prioritize similar legislation in Texas next year.
We achieved all sorts of things along the border. It was an incredible thing. It was an incredible period of time, Trump said of his efforts on border security. Biden is now systematically surrendering every single advantage that I really brilliantly got. They dont give me any credit.
Whats The Agenda For The Houston Rally
The agenda for the Houston rally could be pretty much what weve seen in the previous American Freedom Tour events, which is to push forward the Republican agenda. Incidentally, while Trump doesn’t have a social media presence after he was barred by both Facebook and Twitter, Trump Jr. has been quite active on Twitter.
In multiple tweets, he has lashed out at Dr. Anthony Fauci and has also been speaking against Bidens vaccine mandate.
Will it ultimately be Hunters lucrative and shady AF business dealings in Ukraine that gets us into a war with Russia?
Vance Only Senate Candidate At Trump Rally
Former state treasurer Josh Mandel, former state Ohio Republican Party chair Jane Timken, investment banker Mike Gibbons and state Sen. Matt Dolan did not attend Saturday’s rally. Gibbons’ campaign held an event outside the fairgrounds earlier in the day.
The four are facing Vance in the May 3 primary to replace retiring Sen. Rob Portman and had hoped to receive the former president’s backing.
Governors Race Looms Over Rally
Gov. Mike DeWine did not attend Trumps rally and recently tested positive for COVID-19, but his campaign staff greeted people at the fairgrounds earlier Saturday. Attendees cast the governor as a Republican in name only and criticized his response to the pandemic.
As long as they get DeWine out, Im good with it, Dayton resident Steve Callahan said of the race.
DeWines opponents are hoping to capitalize on that frustration. Former U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci was at the rally, and Canal Winchester farmer Joe Blystone peppered the fairgrounds with campaign signs.
Liz Cheney: Trump Using More Extreme Language Than What Caused Jan 6 Attack
Rep. Liz Cheney said on Sunday that former President Trump is using more extreme language than he did prior to the Jan. 6 attack at the Capitol.
Trumps rhetoric about the 2020 presidential election being stolen has been blamed for motivating many of his supporters who attempted to prevent Congress from certifying the results.
At a rally before the insurrection, he told his supporters: We fight like hell. And if you dont fight like hell, youre not going to have a country anymore.
Cheney told CBS News correspondent Robert Costa in an interview on Sunday Morning that the former president was only becoming more inflammatory as the next elections approach.
You know, we are not in a situation where former President Trump has expressed any sense of remorse about what happened, she said.
We are in fact in a situation where he continues to use even more extreme language, frankly, than the language that caused the attack. And so, people must pay attention. People must watch, and they must understand how easily our democratic system can unravel if we dont defend it.
Trump has endorsed hundreds of candidates in the upcoming midterms who reiterated his claims of election fraud, while backing opponents of those lawmakers and state officials who have crossed him over the election.
Cheney also told Costa that she believes the Republican Party nowadays is a cult, with many members aligning themselves with Trumps even when his actions undermined democracy.

The former presidents speech in Ohio, made on behalf of a challenger to a Republican congressman who voted to impeach Mr. Trump, reflected both his power over the party and his diminished status.

WELLINGTON, Ohio Former President Donald J. Trump returned to the rally stage on Saturday evening after a nearly six-month absence, his first large public gathering since his Save America event on Jan. 6 that resulted in a deadly riot at the Capitol.
On Saturday, the same words Save America appeared behind Mr. Trump as he addressed a crowd of several thousand at a county fairgrounds in Wellington, Ohio, about 35 miles southwest of Cleveland.
He repeated familiar falsehoods about fraudulent 2020 votes. He attacked Republican officials for refusing to back his effort to overturn the election results including Representative Anthony E. Gonzalez of Ohio, who voted to impeach Mr. Trump, and whose primary challenger, Max Miller, was the reason for Mr. Trumps visit. The former president praised Mr. Miller as they appeared onstage together.
Mr. Trump remains the most powerful figure in the Republican Party, with large numbers of G.O.P. lawmakers parroting his lies about a stolen 2020 election and fearful of crossing him, and many in the party waiting to see whether he will run again for the White House in 2024.
Do you miss me? Mr. Trump asked in one of his biggest applause lines. They miss me, he declared.
