Pm: Group Of Protestors Engages Trump Supporters
A small group of protesters was creating a scene Saturday afternoon toward the front of the line as Trump supporters periodically engaged in arguments.
The Phoenix police departments community engagement bureau was monitoring the crowd and was keeping the peace between animated people.
Doors to the venue closed at 1 p.m. The remaining people in line, about 200 to 300, were notified the building was at capacity and started spreading out around the venue.

Trump Booed At Alabama Rally After Telling Supporters To Get Vaccinated
Former President Donald Trump was booed at a rally Saturday in Alabama after he told supporters they should get vaccinated.
“And you know what? I believe totally in your freedoms. I do. You’ve got to do what you have to do,” Trump said. “But I recommend take the vaccines. I did it. It’s good. Take the vaccines.”
Some boos rang out from the crowd, who were largely maskless.
“No, that’s OK. That’s all right. You got your freedoms,” Trump said, echoing rhetoric from opponents of mask and vaccination mandates. “But I happened to take the vaccine. If it doesn’t work, you’ll be the first to know. OK? I’ll call up Alabama, I’ll say, hey, you know what? But is working. But you do have your freedoms you have to keep. You have to maintain that.”
Covid cases and hospitalizations are surging in large parts of the South because of the highly contagious delta variant of the coronavirus. Cullman, where the rally was hosted, is experiencing a rise in cases that has matched its previous peak from late December. The city declared a Covid state of emergency Thursday to provide extra emergency support for the rally.
Alabama has the lowest vaccination rate in the U.S., with just more than 36 percent of its population having been fully inoculated, according to an NBC News tracker. Gov. Kay Ivey, a Republican, has said “the unvaccinated folks” are to blame for Covid’s resurgence in the state.

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday called Saturdays Justice for J6 rally a setup for Republican voters regardless of the outcome.
On Saturday, thats a setup, Trump said in an interview with the Federalist. If people dont show up theyll say, Oh, its a lack of spirit. And if people do show up theyll be harassed.
The former president found multiple ways to weigh in on the upcoming rally on Thursday, sending out a statement echoing the messaging of the potential rally goers. The narrative surrounding Jan. 6 has been warped by some members of the Republican Party, especially groups planning to rally on Sept. 18 in support of those currently detained for participating in the insurrection.
The shift in messaging has aimed to cast those on trial as political prisoners. There are more than 600 people charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.
Trump used his platform to fuel that narrative on Thursday, once again projecting his false claim the very one that drove the insurrectionists to the Capitol on Jan. 6 that the election was stolen from him.
Saturdays rally has reignited concerns about another wave of violence on Capitol Hill as law enforcement prepares for the event. Its being planned by Look Ahead America, a nonprofit led by a former Trump campaign staffer whos said it will be a peaceful protest.

Am: Tweets Suggest A New Speaker Coming To Rally
A series of tweets Saturday morning suggested Michelle Witthoeft, the mother of the woman shot to death by police as she climbed through a barricaded door during the U.S. Capitol riot, will be speaking at the rally.
Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., has repeatedly suggested the woman, Ashli Babbitt, was murdered by the police officer and has sought to identify the man who shot her.
In a tweet from his personal account, Gosar on Saturday said he looked forward to meeting Witthoeft and noted, God bless you. God bless Ashli.
It was in response to a tweet from an account with Witthoefts name on it. On Friday, Witthoefts account noted that, I have been invited by congressman Gosar to speak at the Trump rally tomorrow.
Witthoefts account prominently asks, Who killed my child?
Gosar, who was a leading voice in Congress promoting the false narrative of a stolen election, also has been prominent in the effort to recast the deadly Jan. 6 riot as a peaceful protest.
Cellphone footage from those near Babbitt showed her climbing through the opening in a glass window of a door that was locked and barricaded. With dozens of rioters behind her, Babbitt continued even as police instructed the crowd to stop.
The events of Jan. 6 have become another flashpoint of partisan division.
The shifting account contributed to what some conservatives viewed as an overblown effort to blame them for the attack.

The rally, first reported by the Des Moines Register, will be held on October 9 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. This will be Trumps first trip back to the first-in-the-nation caucus state since the 2020 election.

Warnock and another Democrat, Jonathan Ossoff, won Georgias two Senate seats in runoffs in January. Observers on both sides of the aisle said Trumps claims of electoral fraud depressed Republican turnout.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Former President Donald Trump says he will return to Iowa.
The Des Moines Register reports Trump announced his intentions on a radio show while discussing crowd sizes at recent rallies.
A source familiar with the former President said initial conversations had begun about a rally, but there doesnt appear to be anything set in stone at this time.
The announcement comes as other people who could be possible presidential candidates are already making trips here.
That includes Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, and former Vice President Mike Pence.

Many of the 11 individuals linked to the pro-Trump rally that preceded the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol are expected to comply with the House select committee’s investigation into the insurrection, while other top Trump associates are expected to attempt to rebuff the committee’s requests, sources with direct knowledge tell ABC News.
Last week, the committee issued 11 subpoenas requesting documents and depositions from organizers and others associated with the pro-Trump rally outside the White House that turned into a march on the U.S. Capitol.
ABC News has confirmed that so far a majority of those contacted have engaged in active conversations with the committee. The extent to which they expect to cooperate with the committee’s investigation is not clear.
Lyndon Brentnall, the owner of RMS Protective Services, the Florida-based private security firm listed on the National Park Service permit for the rally, and the only individual contacted by the committee to respond on the record, told ABC News, “I have every intention of complying with the House select committee subpoena.”
In August, the committee also requested documents from nearly all government agencies and the National Archives, which maintains control of White House records.
