Some silver scribbling has turned what would be a stock photo of Kim Jong-un and President Trump into gold, a memorabilia dealer claims.
The seemingly routine snapshot, taken by a British journalist covering the historic June 2018 US and North Korea summit in Singapore, became a $24,000 piece of history when the photog got both politicians to put their John Hancocks on it, dealer Gary Zimet of Moments in Time told The Post.
This is the only known autograph of Kim that has ever been for sale hes a legendary rarity, said Zimet, a longtime California memorabilia seller.
And while signed photos are a dime a dozen … to have both Trump and Kim on the same one is iconic, he said.
Zimet said he is 1,000% sure the autographs are legit, saying they are a dead-on match to ones from both leaders that he examined during the authentication process.
Printed on 8-inch-by-10-inch glossy Tura photo paper, the image shows the leaders shaking hands, with Trump putting his mitt on his counterparts shoulder. Trumps recognizable, EKG-like autograph and Kims lesser-known signature are reputedly etched on their dark suits in silver marker.
The reclusive dictator isnt known for being generous with his autograph. Meanwhile, Trump is notorious for putting his name on everything from buildings to a CD of Elton Johns classic Rocket Man that he once sent to Kim.

Donald Trump Memorabilia Is A Hot Commodity And Here’s Why
Interest in political memorabilia usually heats up during a presidential election year, but really heats up with the kind of white-hot controversy that has engulfed this presidency, says Ron Puechner, national president of the American Political Items Collectors, a political memorabilia and historical collecting and preservation group.
Love him or hate him, demand for Trump memorabilia has shot up on both sides of the aisle, Puechner says.
“Right now, because of the controversy and the number of people that are avid supporters, there probably is a somewhat inflated value, just because of how many people want something with his autograph on it,” he said.
Last July, Utah-based conservative artist and Trump supporter Jon McNaughton helped the Arizona Republican Party raise money by donating for auction his iconic lithographs of the president. An original McNaughton portrait of Trump signed by both the president and the artist drew special interest.
Puechner says demand is growing for anti-Trump items. “Those sell like hot cakes to a very different political group,” he said.
Like with all else, the value of Trump memorabilia is in the eye of the beholder.
Last year for an exhibition in New York, artist Andres Serrano spent about $200,000 collecting more than 1,000 pieces of Trump memorabilia on eBay.
Not All Presidential Mementos Are Created Equal
The value of presidential memorabilia also depends on the president, according to Steve Ferber, vice president of Lori Ferber Presidential Collectibles in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Most living presidents don’t command sky-high prices in today’s memorabilia market, Ferber says. The reason? Simple supply and demand.
The most popular presidents are Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Teddy Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

Collectibles are valued based on demand and scarcity and right now there certainly is demand but certainly not scarcity,” Ferber said, pointing out that Trump signs a lot of items while on the campaign trail.
Amateur collectors tend to overpay for these presidential collectibles, shelling out thousands for a Trump autograph when they shouldn’t, Ferber says.
Sometimes we do see items signed by Donald Trump or by other presidents that people just assume that they must be worth a fortune, he said. We try to explain to them as best as we can and nicely as we can thats usually not the case, especially in the case of living presidents.
As with most things sold on these marketplaces, fakes are a problem. It is unknown whether any of the items purporting to be signed by the 45th president are genuine, but many probably aren’t, experts say.
Bottom line, people should steer away autographed political mementos, Puechner says.

Hundreds of autographed Trump collectibles with high price tags are being hawked on eBay and other online marketplaces.
In December, a baseball signed by both Trump and Vice President Mike Pence sold for $4,999.99. The ball came with a certificate of authenticity, the eBay listing said. Also in December, a listing for original artwork said to be drawn and signed by Trump in 2000 sold for $4,200 plus a $100 shipping fee.
A seller in Rhode Island currently has an eBay listing for $100,000 of Trumps 1990 book “Surviving at the Top,” which is signed to Mom & Dad. A MAGA hat supposedly signed by Trump is going for $7,999.16.
Trump, a king of branding, seems irked that someone other than him is profiting from his name. This is, after all, a man who knows the value of merch and has put that knowledge to work on his campaign which has a brisk business in red hats, patriotic pins and Trump 2020 T-shirts.
Last year Rep. Peter King of New York took his 11-year-old granddaughter to the White House to watch the signing of a health care bill for first responders to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. King told The Atlantic Trump gave his granddaughter the signed speech with the admonition: If I find this on eBay tonight, Im coming after you.
