Where Are Future Trump Rallies

Some Ohio leaders call for stronger mask mandate enforcement at future Trump rallies

Remember last week when we told you about how two moderate-Democratic senators could effectively block legislation backed by the rest of the party?

Here’s a great case study of how they get what they want.

In the wake of Trump’s election loss, a slew of red states are passing laws to tighten voting requirements in the name of fighting fraud. Democrats, generally, say those red states are trying to suppress the vote.

Members of Congress at the national level tried to counteract these state steps with a sweeping bill known as SB1 or the Voting Rights Act. Republicans were pretty uniformly against it so they used the filibuster to block it this week.

Democrats could counteract the filibuster with a fancy procedural move known as reconciliation, which lowers the passing threshold to 51 votes. But they can only get 51 votes if Joe Manchin and Kirsten Sinema are standing with the party.

Manchin and Sinema stood by the Democrats in a test vote , but the hoopla forced them to say definitively that they wouldn’t support the bill if it was passed using reconciliation .

The upshot? The voting rights bill is now effectively dead.

Naturally, the Democrats have vowed to not give up. They’ve proposed more hearings on voting laws and Biden has pledged to revisit negotiations. But, for now, the most viable option looks to be a different voting rights bill, one that’s more moderate and has only one name in its title.

That name is Joe Manchin.

In his post-presidential public appearances, Trump continued to make claims that the 2020 election was stolen and criticized Republican members of Congress that supported his second impeachment in the aftermath of the Capitol riot.

Meanwhile, Trump will offer the broad coalition of American voters a stark reminder of why they joined together to oust him from power. They’ll get to see a Trump with nothing to lose, and some Republicans are already terrified that his traveling circus could hijack attempts to advance a unified and coherent party agenda heading into the 2022 midterms.

Of course, Republican political considerations don’t bother Trump in the slightest. Just as the party was finding its footing in a Democratic Washington, Trump ignited a firestorm by demanding that the GOP replace Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky as minority leader. He’s also been a driving force behind the ouster of Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming from party leadership last month.

Trump-skeptical Republicans are likely to face similar forces during the primaries, when Trump will turn his rallies into powerful get-out-the-vote mobilization efforts. One Republican victim of the pro-Trump march, former Rep. Denver Riggleman of Virginia, points to his own blue-tinged state as a case in point. “If Trump hosts a rally in Virginia, does Glenn Youngkin show up?” For GOP candidates now dependent on Trump’s money-printing outrage machine, Trump’s rallies could serve as forced baptisms into the MAGA movement.

Trump Calls Upcoming ‘justice For J6’ Rally A ‘setup’

There are more than 600 people charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday called Saturdays Justice for J6 rally a setup for Republican voters regardless of the outcome.

On Saturday, thats a setup, Trump said in an interview with the Federalist. If people dont show up theyll say, Oh, its a lack of spirit. And if people do show up theyll be harassed.

The former president found multiple ways to weigh in on the upcoming rally on Thursday, sending out a statement echoing the messaging of the potential rally goers. The narrative surrounding Jan. 6 has been warped by some members of the Republican Party, especially groups planning to rally on Sept. 18 in support of those currently detained for participating in the insurrection.

The shift in messaging has aimed to cast those on trial as political prisoners. There are more than 600 people charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.

Trump used his platform to fuel that narrative on Thursday, once again projecting his false claim the very one that drove the insurrectionists to the Capitol on Jan. 6 that the election was stolen from him.

Saturdays rally has reignited concerns about another wave of violence on Capitol Hill as law enforcement prepares for the event. Its being planned by Look Ahead America, a nonprofit led by a former Trump campaign staffer whos said it will be a peaceful protest.

Future Trump Rallies Are On Hold

June 22, 2020 at 10:29 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

CNN: Ahead of the Presidents visit on Saturday to Tulsa, there had been tentative plans to announce another rally for the near future, perhaps as early as the next two weeks.

Now, it remains unclear when and how Trump will move forward with his flagship political events. Some advisers suggested it could be weeks or even months before Trump attempts another rally, though as of Monday morning no decisions had been made on how to proceed.

When the President speaks Tuesday in Phoenix it will be to a group of young supporters, not a rally, though aides are now working to ensure that event appears full. And Trump will visit Wisconsin on Thursday in an official capacity.

While Trump won Florida, Ohio and North Carolina in both the 2016 and 2020 elections, last year he became the first Republican candidate to lose Georgia in a presidential election since George H.W. Bush in 1992.

The former president has since cast aspersions on the conduct of Georgia election officials, including Republican secretary of state Brad Raffensperger, over his defeat and insisted without evidence that the loss was the result of voter fraud. Republicans went on to lose both of Georgias US Senate seats in a pair of special elections in January, handing Democrats full control of Congress and the White House.

Trump again refused to confirm Thursday whether he would run for president in 2024, saying only: Im gonna make a decision at the right time and Ill let you know.

Donald Trump Returns To Campaign Trail With Rally Targeting Ohio Republican

As New York legal troubles mount, ex-president hints at 2024 run and targets those who voted for impeachment

Donald Trump returned to the campaign trail with a rally in Ohio on Saturday night, campaigning against a Republican who voted for his impeachment and trailing his own candidacy for president in 2024.

Trump repeated his baseless election 2020 grievances and painted a dystopian picture of the country under Democratic control, while in another echo the past, the crowd chanted Lock her up at the mention of Hillary Clinton, the Democrat he defeated in 2016.

The rally outside Cleveland on Saturday was to support Max Miller, a former White House aide challenging Anthony Gonzalez, a former college football and NFL star censured by his state party for voting for Trumps impeachment.

While he praised Miller as an incredible patriot and a great guy who loves the people of Ohio, Trump spent much of the rally fixating on the 2020 election, which he insists he won. This is despite top state and local election officials, his own attorney general and numerous judges, including some he appointed, saying there is no evidence of the mass voter fraud he alleges took place.

The 2020 presidential election was rigged, he told the crowd, which at one point broke into a Trump won! chant. We won that election in a landslide.

President Trump is my president, too, she said.

We want a little time to go by, maybe watch what happens in , he said.

Opinionis Trumpism Without Trump Possible Many Conservatives Seem To Think So

The disagreements within the Democratic Party look marginal when compared to a former president’s openly fanning his supporters’ most extreme conspiracy theories. And however frustrating Democratic policy fights feel to progressive activists who have so far failed to pass a $15-an-hour minimum wage or abolish the Senate filibuster, or however worrisome they are for moderates who think President Joe Biden is going too far left with his massive spending plans, they provide none of the over-the-top invective Washington journalists grew addicted to over four years of Trump rallies. Trump’s rhetoric will bury any coverage of Democratic disharmony.

Indeed, Trump’s return to the political stage gives Democrats a rare opportunity to set aside the disagreements that come from governing just as Biden’s honeymoon period is ending. Despite growing impatience among progressives at the obstructionist tactics displayed by Democratic Sens. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Trump’s summer tour will be a bracing reminder that things could be far worse.

Trump Force One Being Restored For Future Rallies

Former President Donald Trump recently revealed that he will be holding campaign-style rallies in Florida, Georgia, Ohio, and North Carolina as speculations swirl over whether or not hell mount a presidential bid for the White House in 2024. Close sources shared that Trump will hold at least two rallies in June and a third event around the Fourth of July holiday.

Relatively soon, well be doing one in Florida, were gonna do one in Ohio, were gonna do one in Georgia, were gonna do one in North Carolina. Well be announcing them very soon over the next week or two, and I think well probably start in Florida and Ohio and well be announcing the rallies very shortly, Trump told One America News.

Trump made his first post-presidential speech at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in February and is scheduled to headline North Carolinas Republican Party convention on June 5. While he has not yet confirmed whether he would run for president in 2024, Trump shared that he will make a decision after the 2022 midterm elections. He says he will also be releasing a schedule soon since he is eager to return to the rally stage.

Trump recently struck a deal with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy in January to help the GOP retake the House Majority in 2022. He said that the Biden Administrations handling of the southern border and decision to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline will inspire voters to elect a GOP House Majority next year.
