When Will Donald Trump Speak At The Nra Convention

FULL SPEECH: Former President Donald Trump speaks at ‘Save America’ rally in Conroe, Texas

Both Trump and the NRA have been asked for comment, but have not confirmed or denied whether Trump’s speech is going ahead as scheduled.

A tweet posted by the NRA, before the news of the Uvalde mass shooting, said Trump’s address would take place on May 27 at 2 p.m. CDT. The post includes a clip of the former president saying: “I love the NRA. I love the Second Amendment.”

Trump’s speech is set to be broadcast live on YouTube. It has been reported that the NRA spent more than $30 million on his 2016 presidential campaign.

Since Trump is set to speak, the U.S. Secret Service “will take control of the General Assembly Hall and have magnetometers in place before entry,” according to the NRA website.

Ohio Republicans Get Shout Outs

Trump thanked a slate of Republicans for their work in Ohio, including Secretary of State Frank LaRose and auditor Keith Faber. He applauded LaRose specifically for his role in the state’s redistricting process.

He didn’t acknowledge the candidates running for governor this year, but he made a reference to “this terrible governor that you had” when talking about former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who ran against Trump in the 2016 GOP primary. Trump also praised Ohio Republican Party chair Bob Paduchik.

Trump Lashes Out At Jan 6 Committee As He Teases 2024 Run

  • Print

Making his first public appearance since the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection began its hearings, laying bare his desperate attempts to subvert democracy and remain in power, former President Trump on Friday lashed out as he continued to tease his plans for a third presidential run.

Speaking to religious conservatives at a sprawling resort near the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Trump blasted the committees efforts as a theatrical production of partisan political fiction and insisted he had done nothing wrong.

What youre seeing is a complete and total lie. Its a complete and total fraud, he told the Faith and Freedom Coalitions Road to Majority conference. He dismissed the harrowing video footage and searing testimony presented by the committee including first-hand accounts from senior aides and family members as having been selectively edited. And he downplayed the insurrection as a simple protest that got out hand.

Trumps appearance at an event long known as a testing ground for presidential hopefuls comes as he has been actively weighing when he might formally launch another White House campaign. The debate, according to people familiar with the discussions, centers on whether to make an announcement this summer or early fall or, in accordance with tradition, to wait until after the November midterm elections.

Would anybody like me to run for president? he asked the crowd, unleashing more cheers.

Former President Trump Responds To Jan 6th Hearings At Nashville Conference

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former President Donald Trump spoke to an enthusiastic crowd in Nashville Friday, addressing the Jan. 6 hearings for the first time.

After a long list of Republicans, including Tennessee senators, spent hours building momentum for the midterm election, the former President himself took the stage. His supporters traveled from across the country to watch him speak.

I want the camera to scan the audience and look at the diversity of people in the audience, Kesha Frelot said.

In his speech at the Road to Majority event, a conservative Christian conference by the Faith & Freedom Coalition, President Trump addressed the Jan. 6 hearings, calling them a witch hunt.

If you just insert January 6 instead of Russia, Russia, Russia, Trump said. They are knowingly spinning a fake and phony narrative in a chilling attempt to weaponize the justice system against their political opponents.

While repeatedly maintaining his claim the 2020 election was stolen, the former president threw punches not only at his Democrat counterparts but fellow Republicans.

Mike Pence had a chance to be great. He had a chance to be, frankly, historic. But, just like Bill Barr and the rest of these weak people, Mike, and I say it sadly because I like him, Mike did not have the courage to act.

Grand Jury Convened In Criminal Investigation Of Trump

President Donald Trump delivers his third State of the Union Address ...

Only one president, Grover Cleveland, has ever lost a re-election bid and come back to reclaim the White House. In modern times, one-term presidents have worried more about rehabilitating their legacies by taking on nonpartisan causes Democrat Jimmy Carter by building housing for the poor and George H.W. Bush by raising money for disaster aid, for example than about trying to shape national elections. But Trump retains a hold on the Republican electorate that is hard to overstate, and he has no intention of relinquishing it.

“There’s a reason why they’re called ‘Trump voters,'” Miller said. “They either don’t normally vote or don’t normally vote for Republicans.”

Trump lost the popular vote by more than 7 million last year and the Electoral College by the same 306-232 result by which he had won four years earlier but he got more votes than any other Republican nominee in history. And it would have taken fewer than 44,000 votes, spread across swing states Georgia, Arizona and Wisconsin, to reverse the outcome.

Republicans, including Trump allies, say it’s too early to know what he will do, or what the political landscape will look like, in four years. A busload of Republican hopefuls are taking similar strides to position themselves. They include former Vice President Mike Pence, who is speaking to New Hampshire Republicans on Thursday, an event that the Concord Monitor called the kickoff of the 2024 race.

That’s basically what Trump is doing.

Former President Trump Speaks At South Carolina Rally Criticizes Biden And Praises Sc Governor

FLORENCE, S.C. – Former President Donald Trump made his way to the Palmetto State Saturday night to speak at a rally held for him in Florence.

Trump began the night speaking on the current situation with Ukraine, in part claiming that under current President Joe Biden, Americas neither feared nor respected.

Despite all of Bidens weakness, cowardice and incompetence, there is a path for him to end this strategy in Ukraine without getting Americans snared in a gruesome and very bloody war, Trump said. This could lead to World War III.

The former president went on to say nobody was tougher on Russia than him.

I see whats happening because if you think Putin is going to stop, its going to get worse and worse, Trump said. Hes not going to accept it. And we dont have anyone to talk to him. You had somebody to talk to him with me.

A spokesperson for The Democrats War Room issued the following statement in response to some of Trumps comments on Russian President Vladimir Putin:

Another topic Trump spoke on was the rise in gas prices many customers are seeing at the pumps. After criticizing the Green New Deal and the Democratic Partys climate hysteria, Trump sent praises to South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster.

I tell you what your great governor is promoting, Trump said. Hes promoting inexpensive gas for your cars inexpensive gasoline and hes also an environmentalist. I have to tell you, Henry we love you.

How Big A Crowd Is Expected

This is an often tricky issue with Trump, who has a habit of inflating his crowd sizes. In this case, township officials say they expect somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000 people.

It’s anyone’s guess if that number will be low or high. But it does have some fire officials in Washington Township concerned. For one thing, they say the rally is outside the approved use of the Michigan Stars Sports Center space, and it’s possible the number of attendees could be well above the site’s safe occupancy limit. There also are questions about whether there is enough parking and what the effect of traffic will be on local roads.

Former President Donald Trump Will Rally His Michigan Supporters On Saturday

Former President Donald Trump speaks at NRA Convention in Houston

Former President Donald Trump returns to Michigan Saturday for a rally with his supporters in Macomb County.

The former president will share the stage with several Republican candidates, including two running for two statewide offices.

Before Trump speaks, Kristina Karamo, whos seeking the Republican nomination for Michigan Secretary of State, and Matt DePerno, whos running for the GOP nomination for state Attorney General, will address the crowd gathered at the Michigan Stars Sports Center complex in Washington Township.

Karamo and DePerno have supported the former presidents claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election. Trump has endorsed both.

The rally comes just weeks before the Michigan Republican Partys nominating convention.

You certainly can interpret it as the former president trying to intervene and help his preferred candidates in this nomination process, said Kyle Kondik, the managing editor of Sabatos Crystal Ball from the University of Virginia Center for Politics.

Kondik said Republicans rather have Trumps endorsement than not have it. Though he adds its not impossible to win without Trumps endorsement.

Democrats will also be interested in what the former president has to say on Saturday.

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said this week she expects to hear former president Donald Trump renew his unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud at his rally this weekend.

Benson expects Saturdays rally will be more of the same.

Former President Donald Trump Will Headline A Star

The National Rifle Association is pleased to announce that former President Donald Trump will headline a star-studded cast of political heavyweights at the NRA Institute for Legislative Action Leadership Forum on Friday, May 27, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

“It is truly an honor to have President Trump address NRA members for the sixth time at our 2022 NRA-ILA Leadership Forum in Houston,” said NRA Executive Vice President & CEO Wayne LaPierre. “President Trump delivered on his promises by appointing judges who respect and value the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and in doing so helped ensure the freedom of generations of Americans. NRA members are excited to hear him speak and thank him for his support for our right to keep and bear arms.”

Starting at 2 p.m. local time, Trump will be joined in a celebration of Second Amendment rights by Texas Gov. Greg Abbot, Sen. John Cornyn, Sen. Ted Cruz, Rep. Dan Crenshaw, North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson, and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.

Why Does The Free Press Call Trump’s Claims About 2020 Baseless

This gets a little complicated, but the long and short of it is that there has been no credible evidence found, in numerous audits, court cases and other efforts, to back up Trump’s claims of widespread election fraud in any state, including Michigan, where he made those allegations.

Democratic and Republican election challengers observed the vote count across Michigan, including in Detroit, where Trump wrongly claimed that invalid ballots appeared mysteriously in the middle of the night. Officials from both parties reviewed and certified the results. Courts rejected challenges to the outcome as based on misunderstanding, conspiracy and conjecture. Post-election audits confirmed that voting machines accurately read ballots. Trump’s own attorney general, William Barr, told Trump that a look into allegations of corruption in Detroit found them baseless.

A comprehensive investigation led by GOP lawmakers uncovered no evidence of widespread fraud and told voters they should have confidence that Joe Biden legitimately won Michigan. And a review in Michigan, nowhere near enough to have tipped the outcome of the election, which Biden won in the state by more than 154,000 votes.

Highlights From Trump’s Speech

Trump arrived to a roaring crowd in Florida. Chants of “U-S-A” could be heard from the audience.

“We are bringing back our country and we are bringing back our freedom,” the former president promised, saying the “sleeping giant” of the conservative movement had been awoken.

He said Republican voters will “stand up to left-wing fascists” in the 2024 election.

Without evidence, Trump again repeated that the 2020 election was “stolen.”

An Associated Press review of every potential case of voter fraud in the six battleground states disputed by the former president has found fewer than 475, a number that would have made no difference in the 2020 election.

An Analysis Of President Donald Trumps Use Of Language

04.2018 | Tiffany Markman

Is Trumps unique brand of presidential oratory deliberate and strategic, is it the disjointed output of a disordered mind, or is it something else?

Like him or hate him, President Donald Trump is a unique politician because he doesnt speak like one. In many ways, hes used language to create a brand for himself one that leverages a feeling of strength, a sense of determination, and an impression that he can get the job done.

Sedensky points out that Trumps is a brand of presidential oratory not previously recorded different from what the public come to expect.

Now, is this deliberate and strategic, or are Trumps explosive noun phrases, self-interruptions, departures from the theme, flashes of memory and side remarks symptomatic of a person with a concentration problem?

Lets look at six of the linguistic devices commonly used in Trumpian speech: hyperbole, repetition and intensifiers directness sentence fragments digressions and segues grade level and sales talk.

For or against?

On the one hand, Barton Swaim, one-time speechwriter for former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, points out that Trumpian speeches are characterised by broken sentences and bizarre asides.

Theyre not sustained arguments but rather a mishmash of disjointed statements that dont combine into something greater. Are these the output, as many journalists, academics and scientists suggest, of a disordered mind?
