How Can I Get Trump Yard Signs

Letter: Trump Yard Signs In My Neighborhood

Trump yard sign thieves get Instant Karma shocked stabbed and chased off! #2

All around my neighborhood I see Trump yard signs, and I don’t understand.

It is painfully obvious that Trump’s approach to the coronavirus has been, and continues to be, a disaster. From the start he refused to take it seriously claiming that it would simply disappear.

Instead, it became an epidemic that so far has killed over 250,000 in the U.S. Some governors like Virginia’s Gov. Ralph Northam have followed the advice of scientists, such as Dr. Fauci, to limit the size of gatherings, to wear face masks and to keep social distancing. These policies have been effective. Thank God, and Oxford cures are on the way.

President Trump has exacerbated the spread of the virus and ridiculed Dr. Fauci’s and governors’ attempts to fight the virus. While many countries have stopped the virus, it has continued to kill thousands in the U.S.

All you need to do is take a look at our border with Canada. On our side thousands of cases and deaths on their side almost none.

And yet Trump yard signs persist and our death toll grows. I have lost many dear friends have you?

What Are Some Examples Of Restrictions On Political Yard Signs That Have Been Found Unconstitutional

In City of Ladue, the U.S. Supreme Court held that an ordinance prohibiting homeowners from displaying any signs on their property except residence identification signs, for sale signs, and safety hazard warning signs was unconstitutional.

In a case brought by ACLU of Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court prevented the City of Holyoke from enforcing an ordinance, or any future ordinances, restricting lawn signs during certain months of the year.

What Role Do Lawn Signs Play In The 2020 Election

Lawn signs the cardboard rectangles that populate Americans’ front yards every election cycle may not be a scientific gauge of political support. In fact, it is hard to say if they prove anything about the direction of an election.

However, the shows of partisan support are impossible to ignore, and give both supporters of a candidate and their operatives a sense of optimism or concern.

“We had a smaller sign in 2016. It’s 2020, we have a big sign,” New Hampshire resident Jeane Chase told CBS News’ Brook Silva-Braga, adding that she had only been using political lawn signs “since the 2016 election.”

Her motivation? It was “the candidate and his story.”

While political yard signs have long dotted the American landscape, an anti-establishment message inspired something different across U.S. residents’ lawns a message pushed by then-candidate Donald Trump.

“A lot of people were getting disgusted with politicians in general. They say one thing and do another thing,” Trump supporter Gloria Gebert said. “I’m getting goose bumps because this man, I’m telling you, we just have a lot of faith in him.”

Gebert, like Chase, displays a pro-Trump lawn sign at her Pennsylvania home.

Wayne County, Pennsylvania Democrat Party Chair Mark Gaziadio believes his own side’s lack of signs could have contributed to Hillary Clinton’s wide margin of loss in the Republican stronghold area.

The Ultimate Political Yard Sign: Painting Trump On Your Roof

17" x 13" Large Trump Yard Sign 2020 Keep American Great ...

Its probably someones version of the American dream.

A charming house on a quiet street in a safe neighborhood, where the neighbors know each others names. Shady canopy of oak trees, white picket fence, gigantic Trump 2020 painted directly on the roof.

Two weeks before a presidential election, its no surprise weve reached peak candidate-yard-sign density in St. Petersburg.

But one home in the Euclid St. Pauls neighborhood has cranked it up a notch with support for President Donald Trump displayed in bright white letters, 20 feet wide.

The neighborhood is in a precinct that voted overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton in 2016, and is currently dominated by yard signs for Democratic candidate Joe Biden. One neighbor across the street displays a sign with a row of Black power fists in rainbow colors. Another has posted in their window that, in this house, we believe, Black lives matter, womens rights are human rights and science is real.

But the Trump sign, lonely as it may be, is by far the largest on the block, and perhaps in the city.

Oh really, I hadnt noticed, next door neighbor Maggie Hamilton joked sarcastically when a reporter informed her that the neighbors had painted the presidents name directly on their shingles.

Her husband, Kirk Hamilton, said hed taken a picture as the sign was being painted. It only read rump at that point, but the photo still made a splash with his friends on Facebook.

Trump Yard Sign Rigged With Razor Blades Left Town Worker Needing 13 Stitches

A town employee in Michigan had to get 13 stitches after he sliced three fingers on razor blades attached to the bottom of a Trump 2020 campaign yard sign.

The 52-year-old municipal employee in Commerce Township, about 40 miles northwest of Detroit, was asked to remove signs that violated a city ordinance, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Signs are required to be 33 feet from the center of roadways, and a political sign in the yard of a home was 9 feet too close to the street.

“When he went to remove one of the signs, he was cut by razor blades that had been attached to the bottom edge of the sign,” the sheriff’s office said. “Both signs removed from that location had several razor blades taped all along the bottom edge. He received lacerations to three fingers which required medical attention.”

Commerce Township Supervisor Dave Scott told NBC affiliate WDIV in Detroit that his employee initially thought he had been electrified and then looked at his hand and saw that he was “bleeding aggressively.”

The man drove himself to a hospital where he received 13 stitches in his fingers. Scott said he was angry about the incident.

“Why would someone set a booby-trap sign to harm someone? A child could have picked it up, he told the outlet.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident, and according to WDIV, officials in the township said they may seek legal action over the incident.

When it comes to presidential campaigns, it used to be that sticky bumper stickers were forever but campaign yard signs would come and go with the election cycle.

The rectangular campaign signs would crop up a month or two before a primary or general election on front yards and patches of public land along roads. Then the signs would multiply, crowding each other the closer it got to Election Day.

Voters Refuse To Take Campaign Signs Down Despite City Order

How to Deter Trump yard sign vandalism and theft

CORRECTION: The Cape Coral resident interviewed in this story was cited for having a sign beyond the city’s size limit of four square feet and for exceeding the city’s limit of up to three lawn signs. Presidential signs are allowed year-round. City election signs must come down three days post-election.

CAPE CORAL, Fla People living on Country Club Blvd and 32nd Street in Cape Coral say the presidential election is not over, and theyre showing it by keeping their Trump Pence lawn signs up despite city orders to take them down.

Kirk Schaub has eight Trump Pence signs in his front yard. He says hes already been cited by code enforcement to take them down. But, he has no plans to. He says the city can go ahead and bill him now for it.

Schaub stood proudly in front of one of those signs Thursday afternoon. The City of Cape Coral requires homeowners to take down city election signage three days after the election. Schaub said his signs are here to stay indefinitely.

Until the election is over, he said.

Despite Joe Biden having 290 electoral votes and President Donald Trump having 217, President Trump tweeted, We will win on Tuesday.

Schaub says he believes President Trump is still in the running to lead the country for the next four years claiming only in-person ballots shouldve counted in the election.

Valid votes are the only thing that should count. Mail-in ballots, all that stuff, should not be counted, he said.

What About Public Property Can The Government Restrict The Posting Of Political Signs There

The short answer is it depends.

For ordinances regulating speech on public property, like parks or public areas between sidewalks and streets, signs may be prohibited or removed if there is a law that applies to all signs regardless of what they say, and if that law is supported by the governments interest, for instance, in promoting traffic safety or keeping the space visually appealing. However, the general principle is that if a municipality allows some signs in a public area, it must allow all signs in that area.

Signs Of The Times: Months After The Election Yard Signs Still Causing A Ruckus

Tom Eaton typically deals with complaints about overgrown lawns, garbage in a back yard or a misplaced fence.

Eaton is the part-time zoning administrator in the northern Minnesota city of Baudette, and he’s started an uproar in town after ordering residents to remove their political signs and flags.

“This sign issue was nowhere on my radar, he said. I never in my wildest dreams thought we’d be fighting over a sign ordinance.”

Months after the end of the 2020 election, disputes over campaign signs are still causing a ruckus in several Minnesota communities, including Baudette. Protests over orders to remove yard signs has some cities reconsidering their statutes.

State law says yard signs cant be restricted 46 days before and 10 days after an election. But outside of that period, local governments can limit the size and number of signs. The ordinances are mainly about aesthetics: to prevent neighborhoods from being littered with old, tattered signs.

The Baudette ordinance states that campaign signs must be removed 10 days after the election.

After receiving a few complaints, Eaton sent warning letters to 28 people, all with Trump signs or flags in the town of about 1,000 people. Five refused to comply, including Mayor Rick Rone who has a Trump flag on his house.

“I took the signs out of my yard by the deadline, Rone said. But I have a flag on my porch that’s been there for almost a year probably.”

But Eaton said he believes the mayor has put him in a bad spot.

Homeowners With Trump Yard Signs Receive Ominous Warning

You have been identified by our group as being a Trump supporter.

Thus begins the text of threatening letters recently sent to homeowners with Trump yard signs in New Hampshire. The letters continue, We recommend that you check your home insurance policy and make that it is current and that it has adequate coverage for fire damage. You have been given Fair Warning.

The menacing notes are just the latest example of the threats, theft, and electoral shenanigans surrounding the final days of campaign season in New Hampshire, whose elite primary status typically makes it a hub of bare-knuckle politics early in the season but not as much in the fall, despite its battleground stripes.

Not so in 2020. State and federal law enforcement are investigating the letters, which were sent through the U.S. Postal Service to three homes in Milford and two in Brookline.

Norm Silber, a Republican running for the state House of Representatives, also had one of his signs stolen off public property in his hometown of Gilford in June. The grandson of one of my supporters saw it happen and wrote down the license plate, he said. So I reported it to the police, they ran the plates, called the registered owner, whose name is James Babcock, and he confessed!

Sign stealing is hardly a new practice, but the threats against Trump supporters are more concerning.
