President Donald Trump will be in Jacksonville tonight for a “Great American Comeback Event.”
The event starts at 7 p.m. at Cecil Aiport, with doors opening at 4 p.m.
The campaign wouldn’t tell First Coast News, our news partner, how many people the venue would accommodate. But the campaign said social distancing and masks will be encouraged, and masks will be provided.
The disclosure at the bottom of the website says: “By registering for this event, you understand and expressly acknowledge that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. In attending the event, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, and waive, release, and discharge Donald J. Governor’s Race Looms Over Rally
Gov. Mike DeWine did not attend Trump’s rally and recently tested positive for COVID-19, but his campaign staff greeted people at the fairgrounds earlier Saturday. Attendees cast the governor as a “Republican in name only” and criticized his response to the pandemic.
“As long as they get DeWine out, I’m good with it,” Dayton resident Steve Callahan said of the race.
DeWine’s opponents are hoping to capitalize on that frustration. Former U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci was at the rally, and Canal Winchester farmer Joe Blystone peppered the fairgrounds with campaign signs.

GREENSBURG, Pa. Former President Donald Trump will be in Westmoreland County on Friday night to campaign for Mehmet Oz.
He endorsed the TV celebrity for Senator Pat Toomey’s seat. About 20,000 people are expected to attend the rally on Friday.
It is a little less than 24 hours until the gates open for the rally, but people from across the country have made their way to the Westmoreland Fairgrounds to hear the former president. For some, these rallies are a pilgrimage for their political beliefs.
Crews are still setting the scene, as Trump supporters make their way to Mt. Pleasant Township.
“There’s so much wrong with what’s going on. He’s doing what needs to be done in America,” Ralph Pelusi, of Mississippi, said.
Whether from Texas, California, Mississippi or anywhere in between, the following for the 45th president still draws a crowd. Some drove or flew for hours to hear him speak.
“Because he’s real. He’s so real,” Katerina Phang, of California, said.
Rick Frazier, of Ohio, said he’s attended more than 50 rallies for Trump. He’s been a follower since early in Trump’s presidential run in 2016.
“I believed in his America first policies,” he said.
Trump’s endorsement carries a lot of weight among his supporters. It’s been coveted by many Republicans looking to gain a seat in office. Followers are intrigued to see what Trump has to say about Oz during Friday night’s rally.

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday called Saturdays Justice for J6 rally a setup for Republican voters regardless of the outcome.
On Saturday, thats a setup, Trump said in an interview with the Federalist. If people dont show up theyll say, Oh, its a lack of spirit. And if people do show up theyll be harassed.
The former president found multiple ways to weigh in on the upcoming rally on Thursday, sending out a statement echoing the messaging of the potential rally goers. The narrative surrounding Jan. 6 has been warped by some members of the Republican Party, especially groups planning to rally on Sept. 18 in support of those currently detained for participating in the insurrection.
The shift in messaging has aimed to cast those on trial as political prisoners. There are more than 600 people charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.
Trump used his platform to fuel that narrative on Thursday, once again projecting his false claim the very one that drove the insurrectionists to the Capitol on Jan. 6 that the election was stolen from him.
Saturdays rally has reignited concerns about another wave of violence on Capitol Hill as law enforcement prepares for the event. Its being planned by Look Ahead America, a nonprofit led by a former Trump campaign staffer whos said it will be a peaceful protest.

Hageman led off the second half of the rally and started her speech by focusing on her Wyoming roots, contrasting her time in the Equality State with her opponent, Rep. Liz Cheney. She talked about her upbringing in Fort Laramie and time at college, first in Casper and then the University of Wyoming.
“I am Wyoming,” she said. “I know what it means to ride for the brand. I have fought for Wyoming and I will fight for you.”

The Cheney family is from Casper, but Liz Cheney spent only a few years here growing up. She returned to Wyoming in 2012, a year before launching an unsuccessful Senate bid. She won her House seat in 2016.
“I will reclaim Wyoming’s congressional seat from that Virginian that now holds it,” Hageman said.
Hageman drew a huge response after going through a list of things she said Republicans were fed up with — mask mandates, vaccine mandates, Cheney and the “radical Biden agenda.”

Fed Issues Take Center Stage
Trump zeroed in on several federal issues for a large portion of the address, calling for the ouster of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as he described a country in desperate straits under Biden heading into the midterm elections.
Trump criticized the resettling of Afghan refugees in Michigan as he criticized Biden’s Afghanistan military withdrawal. He also criticized the acceleration of inflation, economic setbacks and border policies.
The stakes of this years midterm election could not be higher,” Trump said. “I dont know of a time weve ever felt so low, so dejected. And we have a president who has no idea whats going on.
The choice this November is very simple: If you want high crime, high prices, high taxes, high corruption and high incompetence, vote for radical Democrats, Trump said. If you want a country that is strong, sovereign, solvent, safe and secure, you must vote for America-first Republicans.
Later in his speech, he promised if Republicans retook the U.S. House and Senate that they would “immediately” end “every single COVID mandate.”
During his presidency, Trump said he preferred that states set COVID policies instead of the federal government.

Rep Moore Speaks On Upcoming Trump Rally
ENTERPRISE, Ala.
Earlier this month, it was announced that former President Donald Trump will be in Cullman next weekend for a Save America rally.
One of his strongest supporters is 2nd Congressional District Congressman Barry Moore.
Tuesday in Enterprise he talked about the upcoming rally and whether the former president is gearing up for a potential run in 2024.
Moore says he believes the rally is more about freedoms in America.
Trump, I think in a lot of ways is trying to help win House seats so as he travels to these states and Senate seats, 2nd Congressional District Rep, Barry Moore added. Obviously, hes not up for election right now, so I think hes trying to build a base for Congress to get the gavel away from Nancy Pelosi maybe get a majority in the Senate, because hes always kind of fought for those candidates and I think thats more what hes doing right now.
Moore plans to attend the rally in Cullman on August 21st.
