How (And Why) Donald Trump Tweets

In 2017, Trump sharply criticized the press, calling it the enemy of the American people, fueling hostility toward journalists that many say led to violence. He also failed to condemn white supremacist and white nationalist groups that organized in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Unite the Right rally became a turning point for the nation, prompting many people to finally stop and question the impact of Trumps rhetoric.

On the day the Trump administration instituted a ban against travelers from seven predominantly Muslim countries, a Muslim Delta employee wearing a hijab was physically and verbally attacked at JFK International Airport in New York. The perpetrator told the victim Islam. ISIS. Trump is here now. He will get rid of all of you, according to ABC. On the campaign trail, Trump said he was open to the idea of closing mosques and creating a database of all Muslims in the US, consistently saying that Muslims were a problem and a sickness.

In what the New York Times a striking escalation in his attacks, Trump tweeted that the news media is the enemy of the American People.

The FAKE NEWS media is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!

The French Have A New Donald Trump In Eric Zemmour The Far

A media star with no political experience throws his hat into the ring and soars in the presidential polls. Hurling crude insults at his critics, bashing the elites, vilifying the press, and lavishing praise upon Russia, he rides a wave of populist anger, fear, and xenophobia as he promises to restore his demoralized country to its former glory. No wonder many pundits are calling Eric Zemmour the French Donald Trump. Zemmour, 63, who aides say is about to announce his candidacy, freely acknowledges Trumps rise to power as a blueprint for his own potential run. He even modeled the cover of his latest book, France Has Not Said Its Final Word, on Trumps 2015 manifesto, Great Again. Both men pose like patriotic saviors in front of their national flag. Both men have been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women.

Though he is not yet an official candidate, Zemmour has been sucking up all the media oxygen. He is a constant feature in TV interviews and debates. His face is emblazoned on the covers of major magazines. Crisscrossing the country on a book tour that is in fact a proto-campaign blitz, he has been drawing enthusiastic crowds at each stopalong with gaggles of sometimes violent demonstrators denouncing him as a fascist and racist.

Trump Tweets And Twitter Account Analysis

The dates of the analysis were since May 4th 2009 until the 7th of January 2,021. We analyzed a lot of info and we can say: Trump + Twitter, what a combination! He was probably the President in the world that used Twitter the most. And when we say used it means he did it personally, he did not seem to have a team of people managing the account for him.

If youd like to analyze Trump tweets, you should write from:realdonaldtrump in the search box. As that is nos possible anymore, you can for any other account with our exclusive Twitter user tracker:

Uncovering and explaining how our digital world is changing and changing us.

A version of this story was originally published on Medium.

Our nation has been divided by cable TV and radio shows, by fake news, political propaganda and Facebook filter bubbles.

Everyone has their own group, their own contexts and their own set of facts. Its hard to pierce the bubble.

Trump is bypassing the very institutions that would keep his lies in check by going straight to Twitter and speaking to the masses without challenge, filter or context. And therein lies the opportunity for anyone who opposes him.

In particular, President-elect Donald Trump has a rabid fan base that seems unreachable. The reason is that Trump has inoculated them against facts.

Hes done this by giving credibility to tabloid journalism, fake news, conspiracy theories and Russian dictators.

More astonishingly, he has discredited our best newspapers, our best journalists, our best fact-checking organizations and even the institutions of media and fact-checking themselves.

So among Trump followers, the lunatic rantings of whack-job Alex Jones is true. Detailed reports, backed up by data and great sources is false.

Or, more accurately, any report that benefits Trump is true. Any report that does not benefit Trump is false.

Meanwhile, Trump is bypassing the very institutions that would keep his lies in check by and speaking to the masses without challenge, filter or context.

    I discovered this by accident.

The President Has Fanned Flames Of Unrest Putting New Pressure On Big Tech To Clamp Down On His Divisive Online Rhetoric

Twitter late Wednesday locked President Trump out of his account for the first time, the most punitive step the social media giant has taken against the president, on a day of social unrest and violence in Washington.

, blocking the presidents account for the first time for 24 hours for what it said were two policy violations, although it didnt threaten permanent suspension. It also said it was blocking his Facebook-owned Instagram account.

The social media giants actions were the strongest volleys after a year of heightened tension between Silicon Valley and Trump. They came after months of struggling to combat baseless allegations of a stolen election long stoked by Trump and his allies.

Trump belatedly called for calm on Twitter as the riot at the Capitol earlier Wednesday halted a process to certify Joe Biden as the next president. But his plea came in a now-removed video that was itself laced with disinformation, and he shared the message only after most of the mob had been pushed outside the building leaving a trail of online and offline discord in his wake.

As the mob of Trump supporters stormed the House and Senate, their compatriots online celebrated the chaos, cheering the violence across a wide array of social media sites and calling for bloodshed in the days ahead.

Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement, he tweeted. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!

Trump Is Explicit About The Kinds Of Violence He Is Willing To Use Against Black Lives Matter Protesters

Trump tweets Pence has power to overturn presidential election

As Black Lives Matter protests swept the country this summer following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, a key thread running through Trumps response was to call for and send in law enforcement officials the National Guard, Secret Service police, local police, US Park Police, and state troopers who dressed in riot gear and used a variety of weapons, from tear gas to rubber bullets. While he said violence was out of hand in cities, the protests were mostly peaceful, outside of escalation by police.

In fact, after Homeland Security agents were deployed in Portland in the summer, violent demonstrations increased from under 17 percent to over 42 percent, according to a report. Amid the unrest, Trump also repeatedly failed to identify and call out white supremacist agitators and counterprotesters who traveled to cities and towns and incited violence.

And throughout the country, Asian Americans faced violence due to fears about the coronavirus. Trump has repeatedly used a racist name for the virus, calling it the Chinese flu or the Chinese virus. Its one of many ways he has downplayed Covid-19 and cast blame elsewhere for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans, many of whom are people of color.

Catherine Kim reported for Vox that the phrase fits into Trumps pattern of xenophobia and pattern of deflecting blame. After a week of anti-Asian rhetoric, Trump tweeted, It is very important that we totally protect our Asian American community .

Trump Twitter Ban: What Happened To Trump’s Social Media

Trump is among the top world leaders who used social media platforms like Twitter to make several announcements. In fact, Twitter was his go-to platform to announce personnel changes or policy shifts, where he won over 88 million followers. Over the years, his proactive use of Twitter became a defining line of his presidency.

When Twitter banned Trump, his spokesman and campaign manager Jason Miller, said he would open a social media platform of his own. This led to some confusion as people wondered if this was a blog that Trump was talking about. Soon after, Miller announced GETTER, which challenged the monopoly of social media platforms.

Miller also announced there was an account reserved for Trump, leaving him to decide when to join and what to share. But it looks like Trump isn’t as much interested in GETTER, a social media channel made for him. The demand to get back his Twitter account sets the stage for multiple debates.

On one hand, Trump has several other ways to engage and communicate with his followers, including his own platform GETTER, so why Twitter? One might even argue about social media addiction. Given that was one of the most used platforms by Trump, his desire to get it reinstated might be a personal battle as well.

Trump Wants His Twitter Account Back

This is why former President Donald Trump filed a preliminary injunction in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Trump has asked the judge to make Twitter temporarily reinstate his account, allowing him to tweet again. At the same time, Trump is also fighting against Twitter to let him remove the permanent ban on his account in the courts.

What’s more, Trump believes that he is likely to win his case. Going into the details, the former president of the US argues the Twitter ban on his account violates the First Amendment of the US constitution. Additionally, Trump mentions Florida state’s deceptive and unfair trade practices law and the new anti-deplatforming law are in his favor.

Furthermore, Trump argued that not getting his Twitter account would cause him irreparable harm. He claims his 88 million Twitter followers would also be harmed as they don’t have the option to receive his messages or comment on them. What’s more – Trump says his absence from Twitter would also cause severe damage to the Republican party.

His public persona was a product of television for decades.

Through The Apprentice, he built a fantasy version of himself as a tough-minded chief executive of a global business empire and a self-made billionaire. His wrestling match-style rallies helped him dominate television during the 2016 presidential campaign. Ever attuned to how he was playing and the power of ratings, he personally chose which anchors he wanted to interview him, and persuaded hosts to allow him to simply phone into their Sunday shows.

But as his campaign played out and his presidency began, Donald J. Trump, the master of the small screen, evolved gradually into a different character, @realdonaldtrump, whose itchy finger became many things at once: an agenda-setter for the days coverage, a weapon against his rivals, a way of firing aides and cabinet secretaries, a grenade he could throw at Republican lawmakers who had crossed him and reporters whose coverage he hated, a window into his psyche, and most of all, an unfiltered pipeline to his supporters.

Twitter became a stage he could manage more tightly.
