DALLAS Former President Donald Trump will headline the three-day Conservative Political Action Conference at the Hilton Anatole near downtown Dallas.
The event opens at noon on Friday. Trump caps it off Sunday afternoon.
In between, thousands of activists will hear a parade of speakers warn that a dementia-stricken President Joe Biden is leading the country toward socialism and weakness, denouncing cancel culture and nursing wounds from the disappointment of losing the White House, Senate and House in the span of one presidential term.
Freshman congressman Ronny Jackson of Amarillo, who as White House physician vouched for Trumps mental acuity and physical fitness and has lately demanded that Biden undergo the same battery of cognitive testing will get two turns on stage.
Donald Trump Jr., an attack dog even by comparison to his pugilistic dad, is a featured speaker.
Ken Paxton, the state attorney general who has been under indictment for six years on felony security fraud charges, scored a 15-minute solo speaking slot on Sunday morning.
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Trumps state campaign co-chair, will open the America UnCanceled conference Friday afternoon with a speech titled Dont mess with Texas … or America.
Gov. Greg Abbott will be conspicuously absent even as two primary rivals get spotlights: Allen West, who recently resigned as Texas Republican Party chairman, and former state senator Don Huffines.

With the White House Press Room overtaken by the Biden administration and his Twitter account on lockdown, former President Donald Trump has been relatively quiet in the month since his departure from the Oval Office. That could change Sunday.
The 45th president is due to speak this weekend at the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference, more commonly known as CPAC. The annual three-day summit of conservatism is already underway, but you have to scroll all the way to the end of the CPAC agenda to find Mr. Trump, who is set to close out the event with the final address. He is scheduled to take the stage at 3:40 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday.
The conference marks the first significant gathering of Republicans since the election and its aftermath as the party reckons with the faction that continues to support Trump as its leader and those who think the GOP needs to move quickly beyond the turbulent era of his presidency. Conference organizers, representing the first camp, did not invite any of the 17 Republican members of Congress who voted to support Trumps second impeachment or any major Trump critics.
Trump is expected to use his speech to assert his standing as the head of the party, as well as to harshly criticize Bidens first month in office, including the new presidents efforts to undo Trumps immigration policies.

DES MOINES, Iowa Preparations are underway at the Iowa State Fairgrounds ahead of former President Donald Trumps return to Iowa.
Trump will hold his Save America rally on Saturday.
It comes nearly a year after his last speech at the airport.
Organizers are expecting tens of thousands of people to attend.
Several prominent Iowa GOP officials are expected to speak at the rally.
According to his website, Trumps rally will feature live entertainment that begins at 2 p.m., with his speech expected to begin at 7 p.m.
The latest Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa poll shows the former presidents favorability among Iowans is now higher than it ever was while he was president.
Former Vice President Mike Pence will also visit Iowa, during an event at the University of Iowa on November 1.

Trump Grasps For New Lines In Biden Era
Donald Trump is back. After a month out of the public eye, the former president picked CPACs friendly confines to launch his bid for political revival.
Judging from the crowd here, not much reviving at least among conservative activists will be necessary. Their support for Trump through electoral defeat, through the January mob attack on the US Capitol, through all of it never flagged.
So when Trump made his bid for continued leadership of the party as a king-maker and, perhaps, its standard-bearer in 2024 the crowd gave its full-throated approval.
For the ex-presidents potential successors in the party, however, there was a glimmer of opportunity on Sunday. Trumps speech was lacklustre by his standards. His self-imposed exile may have taken a toll leaving him grasping for lines that work in the Joe Biden era. And while approval of Trumps policies was sky-high in a straw poll of CPAC attendees, only just over half said they would vote for him if he ran in 2024. Its a daunting advantage, but perhaps not prohibitive.
Trumps continued influence within the party seems secure, but translating that influence into another presidential nomination if he wants it is no sure thing. Hell have to earn it.

Six years to the day after a stadium rally in Mobile gave an early glimpse of Donald Trumps ability to generate the excitement that would propel him to the White House, the former president is back in Alabama today to fire up his supporters again.
Trump will hold a Save America outdoor rally at York Family Farms in Cullman, which is in the heart of a Congressional district where four out of five voters supported him in 2016 and 2020.
Its his first speaking event in Alabama since campaigning for Luther Strange during the special election for the Senate in 2017.
Admission starts at 2 p.m. today live music, food and beverage concessions, and guest speakers.
The rally starts at 5 p.m. Alabama Republican Party Chair John Wahl said nine speakers are lined up to precede Trump. The former president takes the stage at 7 p.m.
Other speakers include Wahl columnist and commentator Todd Starnes state Sen. Garlan Gudger of Cullman Congressman Robert Aderholt of Haleyville state Rep. Andrew Sorrell of Muscle Shoals Attorney General Steve Marshall Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth Sen. Tommy Tuberville and Congressman Mo Brooks, who carries Trumps endorsement in the U.S. Senate race.
